  1. Settling in, so will be quite awhile. Only think I can say is that the next time we will be booking a cruise it will be Princess from now on. And will attempt to get the same table again.
  2. Again living in Brooklyn when we want Smoked Salmon we go to Acme Salmon (their smoke house facility). You can find the smoke house by following the smell in the air.
  3. Had the English Bacon on this past cruise and it reminded me of Sliced Ham not Bacon. I like American Bacon smoked with Applewood or Hickory.
  4. The theme of the bear this year is the Captain of the Carpathia, the rescue ship of Titanic. It was descripted in the latest copy of the Cunarder magazine.
  5. We recently sailed on the QM2 and enjoyed the Ports of Call, Activities, Theme Evenings and also Ship itself. One of the most important part of a trip is also the Food & Cuisine in yourz; assigned restaurant and alternate dining rooms. But as always there are Pro and Con's you experience besides what you expect. Mine were - Con: Lack of Darjeeling Tea during meals except at the Champagne Tea Time. No Chocolate Ice Cream in the Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine now only Vanilla. Use to have Chocolate, Vanilla and Mixed No Topping for the Ice Cream not even Chocolate or Fruit topping. Broadwalk Cafe outside not serving Hot Dogs, Hamburgers in a Picnic Setting on Deck 12 Grill Lounge for Grill Passenger on Deck 9 & 10. For two large decks the space a 330-430 can not hold the passengers wanting tea. I know there is Queens Room. These are some of the disappointments experienced. We did appreciate the service and food during the rest of the sailing. Will add more when I review more of the trip.
  6. After experiencing the Princess Grill this past sailing we very much like the assignment to the restaurant and the suite (cabin). Also Henrietta the Concierge helped us very much. We even enjoyed a much more private tea in the Concierge Lounge on 9. Not the same as Grill Lounge and Queens but still quiet and enjoyable. We appreciated for the 14 days the space in the extra large closet and additional closets. Balcony furniture was even better.
  7. On the day we dined for lunch we had approx. 12 tables occupied with passengers coming in on our exiting. We did not feel vacant of warmth and friendliness by the staff. They were accommodating and helpful with our further needs. And any further requests were answered with "Anything else we can offer to you"......
  8. We too agree about being a Grill Fan from now on. This is the first time on the QM2. Did experience Grills many times on the QE2 and twice in the Britannia Club (Pre Grill Experience). Enjoying that private table and come as we want is important not to be against the clock. We prefer not to socialize while eating. Maybe short talk but enjoy the food cuisine we ordered. We too were always greeted and addressed by our last name by all our staff assigned to the table location. And our servers knew our tea selection and accompaniments along with our juice each morning. I must admit along with you the service was Outstanding in all my decades sailing. We are looking forward to booking Grill the next time. By the way we enjoyed the Grill Accommodation of the Suite and all the Features. BTW....We were not impressed with the Grill Lounge for tea time. For two decks of Suites to fit into that space for a hour period was terrible. We favored having Full Tea Time in our Suite and enjoyed it in our privacy.
  9. Actually the Lunch we had in the Steakhouse was while at sea during one of those rainy we had before Quebec. We were lucky that the MD was there was a MD when we were in BC Dining Room. That brought back good times that set the tone for the whole meal. He took VIP TLC to us.How can we compare that to QG. We must admit our serve and care in the PG was equal to QG. We didn't need the next level of Menu choices. PG was just right.
  10. Well everyone is talking about the Cemetery in Halifax but we on the QM2 September 23rd sailing to NE/CAN that also visited Halifax had the Special Opportunity to have a special lecture by Christopher Ward. Christopher Ward is the Grandson of the First Violinist on the Titanic that is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Halifax. He was very interesting with background information on research he did of his Grandfather. He had two one hour lectures to a packed ship board theater. Than held a Question and Answer session in another part of the ship. During our visit to Halifax Christopher paid a visit to his Grandfather's grave.
  11. With the number of passengers on board, the number of passengers without masks, not knowing their health status especially and respectfully international passengers, we just wanted to monitor ourselves for our safety. Severe crowded tour buses, productive coughs and sneezes in that enclosed location for an average of 2 to 3 1/2 hours there are chances. Also remember those that are asymptomatic and sailing with you. Our voyage had a assigned corridor closed for quarantine purpose. Better to be safe than sorry.....Retired from Medical Professional I saw and experienced those that didn't follow the suggested guideline for your betterment. Our Medical Center had too many Refrig trucks in the background with once healthy people.....
  12. Unfortunately we did have stories from passengers we knew on past sailings post-pan that certain evidence was questioned by the ships staff. Yes it did happen for the good of the state of the ship health status. And we would not have minded it as we would share our health status for the good of our fellow passengers. But testing products are personal for testing and should be disposed of but share results with medical staff. Being a retired medical professional, after a certain amount of time after the test results are to be read, the test results/cube will not be accurate to read anymore.
  13. Sailing since 1971 and experience over half a dozen lines and have never been called to Muster. We have experienced Medical Emergencies on board and On Board Engineering Emergencies that did not need to call us to Muster. One time we were during an unsettled time in the world on a Caribbean cruise on the QE2 and three different times, we were escorted by Frigates a longside without incidents. All the times we were confident and assured we were safe on board.
  14. So glad we are free to make our own choices with what Alternate Choice we may get as a gratitis. But we enjoyed the Alternates we are treated to, Our Grill Seated Restaurant, Our Free Choice Golden Loin Lunch Treat etc... We are open to do what we want without thinking what is behind it.... Even a open choice Kings Court has choices we will not find in any of the other locations...... Choices Free as the Wind.
  15. We were on your portion and did not experience any of that.
  16. We found with our visits at BH, always all the placed serve you a decent Lobster Dish. We also enjoyed the overwhelming blueberry products of all kind.
  17. Sorry but I didn't want a leave a positive results in a waste basket if one did happen. I would think anyone with a positive result would want to leave it in the same cabin and would remove it to another location. Those in my group that did get feeling did with responsibility reported to the Medical Center.
  18. Yes, we had were in it during a sea day. We felt more laverish treatment then in the Princess Grill. And the food was very well prepared. We should have had another meal there. Next we will.
  19. As Diamond Member we enjoyed the Lunch they offered us. A very nice experience for a Lunch.
  20. Maybe we were lucky to be in Princess Grill, I didn't remember richer and heavier dishes in our restaurant. You do have to remember that there a the Lunch Menu and the Alternate A La Carte Menu on the other flap of the Menu Binder.
  21. We enjoy walking the town and have a lobster lunch with that sweet water lobster.
  22. Ours was a visit to the Public Garden, Walk thru Town, Lunch at Salty's and walk back to Pier
  23. We were their around Oct 5th and docked at Pier 21. There were only about 2 cabs waiting outside of the pier. Halifax to Fairview Lawn Cemetery is to taxi which costs $14 - $18 and takes 5 min They take Canadian Money...
