  1. Verandah Steakhouse has more space in it over the other restaurants. Every night when we cut thru the Britannia restaurant from Princess, we were so glad that we upgraded from Britannia to Britannia Club to Princess. We now know which one we really like now. No really impressed with QG and the menus. So PG looks good from then on. If we UG to QG then we will see if we like it.
  2. Cunard emailed the ship. We placed our request a day or two after booking. I heard the earlier you book they go by that date with consideration. Being in Princess we had a good foot space btw tables. And we felt very comfortable eating without masks. Reviewing the photo of the QG I took on walking around, I was not comfortable seeing that. Looks pretty close doesn't it.
  3. I Remember a Dinner on the QM2 with the Captain and CEO of Cunard at that time Carol Marlow on a Caribbean Sailing the year the Queen Victoria was being introduced. There was a Powerpoint presentation in Illuminations about the Victoria. We had a wonderful talk after the presentation. Later that afternoon we found an Invitation in our Cabin for Dinner at the Captain's Table that evening. There was about 12 of us seated. I remember each course was served with a choice of wines to compliment the course. It was a delightful meal and conversation with the other passengers. Later that night delivered to our Cabin was the CD used by Carol Marlow of the Queen Victoria presentation. A wonderful keepsake of the voyage and the experience.
  4. This past sailing on the QM2 we were in PG and the table assignment card did not show a table number till we entered the restaurant and were seated. But they did get our request we mailed for a specific table area and number. We were surprised not to see a table number. But all worked out with our contact.
  5. Sailing on the QM2 Cunard Line we had two features. The My Voyage did work if you got the WiFi connection to stay. The Cunard WiFi was good in various parts of the ship. We made Dining Room Reservations, Lecture reserved, Speciality Restaurant booking and we even saw the Daily Programme in mini version.
  6. We did this exact sailing in September and had the same problem of clothing choice. We had Sweaters, Felt Vests, Light Parker etc.. to choose from. We had some rough weather at sea and needed rain gear to walk the deck. Also the weather ranged from low 40's to low 30's. Once or twice we had high 20's. Some of the afternoons was Sunny but brisk. Of course nights were challenging walking the streets of Quebec. What we did was month before we watched all the Port of Calls weather and average the activities we would expect to experience. It really worked. We did have to change items in the luggage even up to 3-4 days before we had to change..
  7. To us it's a one stop deal. Photos stop. It is also not pleasant if the weather doesn't cooperate and be very rough. We only stopped in two shop. One in the restaurant and one on top of the hill. Pls make your own choice and do your own research.
  8. This was exactly what we did this past sailing except we ate in our favorite restaurant instead of outside vendors.
  9. You are welcome to try the Cunard Line with those features. Lectures on average 2 sessions to each speaker and Q&A afterwards. I don't think Cunard would ever drop this activity. This last sailing in September the theater was 3/4 or more full.
  10. Cunard Line had the Servers/Cooks dishing out the food to us.
  11. On Cunard we had a average of two Lectures sessions by two speakers on each segment of our sailings.
  12. During our sailing in September to Canada, they were out and about everyday that was not raining and days in port. Even closed part of the Promenade Deck from the Walkers to reach the areas around the Lifeboats.
  13. I would never not attend or listen to the Muster Drill Instructions thinking I know it from the past. Never know any necessary changes have come about. And all the attention should be given when the Captain talks at any time.
  14. It's a nice drive with the guide giving an overview till Peggy's Cove. You See the Lighthouse. A Restaurant has a Gift Shop. The town is very Fishing atmosphere. Some tours stop by a Maple Sugar Store for a stop. And if time, a ride thru town to see Halifax. BTW....the tour with the lobster lunch was not a thrill at all. I would rather eat in Halifax better.
  15. Have to admit I am this last time a Cunarder Thief.......I took several packages of the Hot Chocolate home. I like it very much I wanted to enjoy it at home and have a package to refer to. I found it on AMAZON and ordered it. Now I can enjoy QM2 Hot Chocolate from now on. It is really good. Belgium Chocolate is really tasty. At least I admit to it for a good reason. Memories last..lol.....
  16. We found a reliable company and booked it. Took a test before at home to see that we were clean. Some say the 10 minutes are the most stressful to wait for the RN to read it and process the report by email. We were very confident that the test was Negative. We didn't mind the inconvenience of those 20 minutes for looking forward to 14 days on the Mary 2.
  17. She is Underway at 10PM out of Redhook. Still Heavy Dense Fog. Even the SI Ferry is under Modified Schedule due to the Harbor Conditions
  18. Yes Halifax. This time was a self tour and enjoy Halifax.
  19. In Brooklyn, we are wondering also the same why so late. We do have heavy fog that was suppose to have cleared mid day but still is hanging over the city and near the bridge where we live. I can't see the bridge from the house. Not sure status of the airports. Looking to attempt to see her undering the bridge
  20. Peggy's Cove is a long drive. We took it by ship bus tour last year. Quite a distance.
  21. Bon Voyage! Sorry for the Deep London Fog and Rain in NYC today. Shouldn't delay departure unless it affects the Airlines. The My Voyage can be challenging as we had on Sept 23rd. Lucky we landed at land often that gave us normal service. You will love Norway. One of our memorable voyages we took in the past. Of course we took it in July. The only thing we found challenging was the mixed music schedule in the Queens Room in the Evening. Changed from the past. You will love the Changes Band in G32. Will make you feel like you are in the Caribbean. WOW, wish I could pack now and be on board with you this afternoon on board. Only 12 minutes away from my home. Miss the meals in Princess..
  22. I remember the Senior Officer Party in the Ward Room on the QE2. We met the Chief Engineer that later offered us a tour of the Engine Room. The Staff Captain also offered us a tour of the Bridge which we kindly accepted.
  23. We used Chrome on our recent trip. Also we found signal strength was the key to connection. We used our My Voyager very often at see to review the accounting. And we also as others on board dealt with drops off and reset - sign back on.
