  1. I have been repeatedly denied when on the phone; told to pick one discount. So you just called the Capts Club, asked for the pre-sail discount (often 14%) and had it stack with your CC discount of 35% so received 49% off?
  2. Negative ghost rider, the do not stack
  3. When you board the ship and log into the wifi you'll have the option to purchase the wifi with CC discount
  4. This is what it'll look like once on the ship
  5. In addition to "USB" ports (known as USB-A) virtually all new devices these days come with USB-C (smaller) charging cable on one end therefore if you're going to spend money on a hub you should make sure it's "future-proof" with USB-C ports. If you don't have one at home, this one is $13.99 and has a $2 off coupon
  6. @Mark_T nailed it. X’s old internet basic and X’s starlink basic choke CC’s format
  7. It’s superior to what they had before but on most ships other than the beyond it’s seems to be greatly throttled back
  8. This is basically (pardon the terrible pun) how it is with basic. Technically you can access CC yet for whatever reason it doesn’t format correctly making it unusable
  9. I haven’t tried in 2023 but did in Dec and had no issue accessing FB/IG with basic
  10. In many cases, MSC's yacht club or a land based hotel stay w/free wifi is cheaper than X
  11. Basic DOES work with Facebook; do you have a source that says otherwise?
  12. Brings games, bring books or just get drunk daily as while they offer activities in 45min blocks, they are often so underattended that they end early...Recently on the Solstice on a sea day, they had a paper airplane contest, archery where you shoot foam arrows, bean bag toss, etc and each one is supposed to last for 45mins. I enjoy their lectures yet so I was very disappointed there wasn't one at all on my recent Solstice sailing (verified by guest services). So what's the best way to spend your time? All of the above, try an activities or two, spend an hour or two reading, spend some time in the hot tub, spend some time at a bar having conversations and inviting folks to play games
  13. It does not swing out and you can see the TV, the room isn't very big
  14. All part of their master plan, first shrink the portion size of the food, then shrink the plates, then shrink the tables and then add more tables
  15. Since it's essentially one big college dorm, we should remind them with a trinket that says "Remember, no getting frisky before marriage"...
  16. It was reportedly a buffet pre-pandemic, here's an apparently recent review:
  17. Sounds to me like it's a mis-understanding, please keep us in the loop
  18. Yes, sounds like there's a loophole by paying for the AQ upgrade means it's not "fully comped" therefore may qualify or someone just approved it not realizing it was a comped sailing
  19. 100% agree, they seem to push "The Retreat" over everything else. They're claiming to be relaxed luxury which I agree with since there's so little to do
  20. Mid day-evening there’s always live music somewhere, try the atrium if nothing go to cellar masters if nothing go to rendezvous
  21. While this can be true in some casinos, this isn’t the case on X. They told me they’re “ordered” to rate as accurately as possible and have no flexibility to fudge their numbers…Pit-bosses are generally personable, you can ask them a lot of things about ratings and they’re generally happy to chat with you With that being said, start your bets high while the pit boss is around then when they leave lower your bet; raise again when you see them come back
  22. Pit-bosses honestly don’t care what you bet, you can’t even impress them with your betting amounts if you wanted to. I’ve had one in Vegas tell me the more they bet, the higher the odds they are of being a problem/difficult/aggressive when they lose and they hate that as their negative vibe can scare others away
  23. While pit bosses enter/validate your play their system doesn’t display what you’re currently rated. Only the host can tell you or occasionally a pit boss can act as a liaison by obtaining your current tier points from the host. I’ve had hosts tell me they will provide only current tier points on the last night, not sooner
  24. Table “coin in” and “cash outl helps them estimate how lost/gained, generally at all casinos the pit boss enters you first couple bets amounts in and periodically validates the amount and in X’s case the pitbosses use iPads. Often those who bet progressively get screwed
  25. There really isn’t an active false advertising menu enforcement police, seafood of any kind can be mislabeled. With the price of lobster, without even trying to find the lowest price here’s my local supermarket selling it for $4.99/ 3oz tail
