MSC Needs to add a better Variety of Carribean Ports
EllieinNJ replied to lcpagejr's topic in MSC Cruises
Living in the NY area I was happy to find a Meraviglia cruise in October that goes to the western Caribbean. I don't think any other cruise out of NY does that . -
First Responders & Medical Professionals Offer
EllieinNJ replied to Astro Flyer's topic in Princess Cruises
I seem to be only one of the few who actually received the email on Monday evening. Two cruises that I may have been interested in seemed to have good prices but then when I saw a large TAs email for Princess they had the same price as listed as Captain's Circle price. So it seems I can get these prices without being a health care worker. -
As mentioned Ms. Duffy will be doing a live talk about the Venezia on Monday at 1pm eastern on the other social media site.

First Responders & Medical Professionals Offer
EllieinNJ replied to Astro Flyer's topic in Princess Cruises
Oops...I was looking at the prices on my cellphone without logging in. Now that I'm on my computer and logged in, the prices are great. I just don't know if I can fit in another cruise for 2023. Wish it was also for 2024. -
Anyone else book Venezia today?
EllieinNJ replied to Cherries Jubilee's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I enjoy sailing from NY and like to do a winter cruise so when I saw the Venezia was sailing I booked the February 11 Journey cruise. I forgot about Presidents weekend and hope it's not teeming with kids -
We were just on. 14 night Princess cruise and the food was comparable to NCL. Good to mediocre.

First Responders & Medical Professionals Offer
EllieinNJ replied to Astro Flyer's topic in Princess Cruises
I received the email last night around 8pm eastern and glanced at the prices. They seemed higher than the regular prices a few weeks ago I already have 4 cruises booked for 2023 so will not book. -
I like cruisetimetables too but I also like cruise Mapper https://www.cruisemapper.com/

Will Carnival be in Europe 2024? What boat?
EllieinNJ replied to Eli_6's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I contacted John Heald on that other social media site and he replied that this cruise is absolutely going as scheduled with no changes. -
Pre-Cruise out of Dover ideas for June 2023
EllieinNJ replied to let's go cruising's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
We are on this same cruise and the b2b cruise before so need something in Dover for the turnaround day of June 9th. Which place do you recommend to go...Dover Castle or Canterbury? Is the Dover Priory station in walking distance from the cruise port or do you need a taxi? -
Is there a minimum number of people that have to go on a tour? I asked on my roll call if anyone was interested in doing tours in any of the six ports in Spain and Portugal on my cruise. Some said they will review this company but no one gave me any confirmed interest. My cruise is not until May, 2023.

Will Carnival be in Europe 2024? What boat?
EllieinNJ replied to Eli_6's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are booked on the Pride for the May 28, 2023 12 day Spain & Portugal cruise plus b2b with June 9th Norway. Although we have the Panorama, Radiance and Venezia booked for 2024, the only Carnival cruise we have actually taken was the Legend last April, which we enjoyed. The Pride cruises are so port intensive (only two sea days for a 12 day cruise and two sea days for the 9 day cruise) we thought it wouldn't matter if it was the same class of ship as the Legend. After we booked we found out that the Pride was going into dry dock after the transatlantic and we would be the first sailing afterwards. We had mixed feelings about this because sometimes all the refurbishments are not completed in time and they would still be working on them by our sailing. Then several months ago the May Pride was not bookable any more. Carnival told us it was sold out. Then someone on the other social media website pointed out that the May Pride cruise was not on any of the cruise port schedules. Many of us are worried about this cruise. I called Carnival again and was assured that this cruise is still going. -
Does MSC allow you to bring your own cans of soda on board?

Celebration! / Live! / Solo! Dec-4-11-2022...
EllieinNJ replied to sid_9169's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I'm following too!!! -
We will (hopefully) be on the Pride May 28, 2023 through June 9, 2023 leaving out of Barcelona. The ship is doing a transatlantic from Tampa in April 2023 and will be in drydock until our cruise. It has not been available to book for several months and we were told that it was sold out. But now it isn't listed anywhere on Cruise Timetables or Cruise Mapper. Should I be concerned? Just yesterday we got an email from Carnival if we wanted to upgrade to a better cabin but because we are doing a b2b with the next cruise and have the same cabin we didn't take it.

Discovery cabin E704.Deck plans say stairs do not go through
EllieinNJ replied to CU64's topic in Princess Cruises
We were just on the Enchanted Princess D704 deck 9. Had to take the back elevator to deck 7 to walk to the piazza area or walk the looong hallway to the center elevators on deck 9. But it was great for the MDR in the back on deck 5 or the buffet on deck 16. -
I have the April 27 thru May 4 2024 Panorama booked since last April. Will be really disappointed if they change ships as I was looking forward to going on this ship. Have only been on the Legend and will be on the Pride in May.

Anywhere to get specialty coffees on Miracle?
EllieinNJ replied to KKB's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
$5 for regular coffee or a specialty coffee? We are coffee snobs but don't drink alcohol. -
I had the same problem last year. I was doing a b2b with an NCL transatlantic in Barcelona and when I went into my reservation to see if any excursions were opened yet I saw that they changed the ship to a much older ship and the date was a week later. No notice was ever given. I immediately cancelled and swore I would never book with MSC again but here we are, a year later, and since they are coming to my area (NYC) I decided to try again and booked another cruise with them. Fortunately no air was purchased yet then and happily no air is needed now.

I so enjoyed your review and loved your pics, especially the menus. We will be taking our first MSC cruise on the Miraviglia next October for 11 nights out of NYC. My DH is a foodie and was worried that he would not enjoy the food but you calmed his fears. I love the shows and was worried that they would be only for European cruisers but thanks to you I think I will enjoy them very much. Your tips are great too. Thank you.

Last Monday I got an email from my VIFP account to book the Venezia. The price was great so I booked the Journey Feb. 11, 2024 on line. Today (cyber Mon.) this cruise was $150pp more than last week for same cabin. My problem now is that my TA won't take any cruises I book myself at a discount because she says there is no profit for her.
