  1. Doing the Radiance in April with a side to side on the Panorama.
  2. Is there an Imax theater on board? I thought I read that Vista class had Imax but couldn't find it on the ship's floor plans.
  3. According to the 1000 members each of three different FB groups this cruise is mostly made up of casino people with a great comp. This is only my 4th Carnival cruise so just a lowly gold but got a great price last year during their birthday celebration.
  4. I always look for group rates from travel agents. Besides getting a lower price they have enough inventory so you can pick a cabin in whichever category you want, no additional charge.
  5. I have a question and hope it's not too off topic. We had fcc applied to a cruise for December. It's not listed as a payment like Cruise next but as a discounted price of the cruise before taxes. If I want to bid on a higher cabin later in the year will they base the offer on the original price of the cruise or on what we paid?
  6. I, too, have lived in the NY/NJ are all my life and have yet to do a fraction of the amazing things to do here. I remember a few years ago St. Greg did a cruise report when he sailed the Magic out of NYC. He spent a few days in the city before the cruise and did so much that everyone was amazed at how he got it all in. There are three different groups for this sailing on FB and most seem to be out-of-towners. Lots of them have tickets for Broadway shows and many are getting together before the cruise to explore and dine. Unfortunately in February the weather may not cooperate with some plans but hoping there will be no snow on embarkation day.
  7. We are doing the 7 day Panorama on April 27th. Couldn't see flying all the way out to California just for 7 days so we added the 4 day Radiance as a side to side from April 22-26. Then we will stay at the Queen Mary in between. This, too, will be our first Mexican Riviera cruise. We are coming in 2 days before and staying at the Fairfield Inn in El Segundo. There is a free shuttle from LAX and they have free breakfast. There is also a private tour of LA for a very good price. There is also a supermarket in walking distance where you can pick up soda. Then we will Uber to the cruise port. Have not yet booked any excursions but will follow all advice like you. I did notice Rhythms of the Night had gone up $20pp since last year. .
  8. Well I'm a baby boomer and I looooooove doo-wop and sixties rock. Remember standing in line for hours to get into the Murray the K's Christmas show at the Brooklyn Fox. (I know, WHO?) But I do remember them having a big band on one of my first cruises. They played Sinatra, Tony Bennett, etc. They were in a separate lounge and people were dancing.
  9. It probably is easier for two people. Both times when we were on the Anthem and the Oasis we didn't like the first table for two the first night so they just showed us to another open square table for four that was cati-cornered to a wall so neither of us were facing it and there we ate at the same table every night at the same time, around 7-7:30pm. We were always out early enough to catch the late shows. Now that I'm thinking about it, this was just after the pandemic when they weren't sailing full. I might have to eat my words when we sail.😄
  10. That's why we get MTD because if we don't like where we are seated we just say we will wait for another table. Neither of us wants to sit looking at a wall
  11. The first thing we did when we embarked the Miraviglia in October was go to the MDR to change our dining times. There was a very long line and two people sitting by the DR entrance changing reservations but I did not see anyone going into the DR to eat. We were there waiting on line at least 45 minutes.
  12. We are on Feb. 11 to 23. It includes Superbowl, Valentine's Day and President's Day. Expecting lots of kids but the price we paid was too good to pass up.
  13. That's why we were excited to book the 7 day Odyssey when it came to NJ.. New shows but same milk route stops. But we didn't know that it doesn't have an enclosed pool and solarium. Now a little disappointed cause it will be COLD in February. We also booked the 5 day Liberty to Bermuda for September, 2024. This class is new to us.
  14. Glad you made Bermuda. If we get luke warm food we just ask the waiter to reheat it. Takes about 5-10 minutes and comes back just right. That's why we do all our meals in the MDR except maybe one breakfast in the buffet just for a change and the specialty dinners.
  15. I called my TA to charge the $700 with Amex. The charge appeared in two days but the credit did not. After 6 days I chatted with an Amex agent who stated it took 7 to 10 days. The next day the credit was there. Now I have the same promotion on my husband's card. I will wait until the statement cut off next week and call again.
  16. So did you get to Bermuda? We didn't on the Getaway last Feb. They gave us $250 OBC so with the original OBC we had used it to order lobster in all the dinner venues each night along with the regular meals. We also were going to swear off NCL but we still had one 'CN and 10 percent off so we booked the Prima for December. If we dislike it it will be the end for us with NCL.
  17. Great report. Will be on the Prima out of NY in December 2024.
