@FionaMG - were you able to book any shows in advance, or did you have to wait until you were on board, like every other RC ship currently?

I was surprised that security at Cape Liberty, which is seriously mean and stern, allowed me to carry on a half gallon bottle of V8 fruit juice.

You are permitted to carry 12 bottles/cans of any non-alcoholic beverages, no more than 17 ounces/half liter each, at embarkation. You could refill those as you drink them. This is in addition to your five daily drink vouchers.

If you want to know the reason: The guys at the surface lots have little hand-held machines that take your credit card for payment for your cruise when you enter the lot, i.e., before your cruise. They are preprogrammed. The guys can't change them. So they have to send B2B to the garage, where the machine at the entrance records your entry date and the machine at the exit records your exit date, and charges you accordingly. 😄

The garage is currently used only for handicapped AND FOR BACK TO BACK CRUISERS. This is the state of affairs when more than one ship is using Cape Liberty. Once the Adventure leaves this year - October 27 - Oasis leaves very shortly thereafter - and Anthem arrives, the garage should be available for all.

Royal Caribbean's practice is to announce the opening of the cabins at 1 P.M.

In my experience, booking shows takes about 30 seconds per reservation.

And here on the Oasis, they are open when boarding begins, around 10:30.

The price for the UDP just keeps going up and up. Only you can decide if it adds value to your cruise to spend another $280-ish. The Key becomes worthwhile if the price is the same as purchasing internet alone. Since it provides you with internet + first day lunch in Chops, you would come out ahead. The Key does NOT help you "get shows when you want". You have to reserve them like everyone else.

It's ship by ship. Adventure - crew masks optional. Oasis - crew still all wearing masks.
