  1. Not sure if we will ever cruise from SP, but were the Suites & Elites in their own area and did they board ahead of Platinum? Or, were you at least handed different boarding group cards so when they opened it up, the A's and B's were Suites and Elites, with Platinum following?
  2. When this was discussed last year post-announcement, the general consensus was it was referring to the formality of the meals and dishes and not the guests' attire.
  3. The way to peg a CC Member is this: 1. Type the "@" symbol. 2. Then, begin to type their handle, like: @do 3. A pop-up window with a list of matching handles appears. 4. Keep typing the handle name until you see the one you want. 5. This is important: You must click on the handle name in order to complete a valid tag. 6. If done correctly, it will look like this: @dog. 7. When you have a correct tag, the member will receive a notice via email about the post. In this case, they may see your post since following this thread. But, best to use the method above.
  4. Yes, that is the current price. You can also purchase on board Day 1/2.
  5. As early as you like up to 2:00pm. Is 3pm the actual sailing time or is it the end of check-in? If the latter, sail time will be more like 4pm. They will open doors more like 10am and could begin boarding by about 11am. For certain, they will begin check-in process well before 12pm. Same everywhere. PS - Depart is 3pm. No way they are going to be processing a ship of guests in a 2hr window.
  6. I have not done this for a while, but does the payment section allow you to put in name and billing address? If not, it will be defaulting to the booking information and then the CC database check will fail and payment denied.
  7. If I did that, I would wait until they were in the smoking area and take it all there. But I do wonder how someone managed to peg a couple in all the areas when no direct lines of sight for all four.
  8. Right, but the OP just booked. 😉
  9. How about booking the excursion for them in their Cruise Personalizer and use your credit card to pay?
  10. If you don't like it, just delete the App. Your booking is your booking and the new App did not mess with that. But realize the old App is going to be retired - perhaps as early as next 4 weeks.
  11. Well, you might say that technically as it is not offered like it used to be, but a savvy guest can still get the TD experience by working with DR Mgmt or Host.
  12. That part is true, but booking multiple cruises does result in multiple benefits IIRC from other posters.
  13. Got it. I do all our PCL bookings in USD and drives me nuts when at home and website only shows me CAD. We are down in FL now and I see USD unless logged in.
  14. Alright, fair enough. Your TA must have access to some sort of pre-purchase block from Princess where they put a promo on for the GTY IF with Non-Ref deposit. A lot of people complained when this happened and were avoiding booking those "lead-in" categories. It seems only logical explain for an "out of bounds" type high discount on the IF GTY and not so much on the other categories. As I was looking at this a bit more between US and Canada, I noticed the Non-Ref option is now gone so either a new promo idea or they sold out of that option. Best get with your TA soon and see if they still have it.
  15. And the same applies to those who purchase Premium. You could also say it applies to those of us who purchase Standard. I am charged only the price difference between the menu cost and my package limit of $0. 😁
  16. FYI, Canada and US markets are identical. Exception is any regional promotions such as selected States or Canada which can affect Americans similarly.
  17. Just trying to put numbers to the advice for a Princess newbie. 😉
  18. If your TA can offer a "really good price" on a cabin that Princess is selling for $999, they can also offer a "really good price" on a cabin selling for $1049 on the same ship/voyage. And, no, you would not lose opportunity to be upgraded to another cabin. You could elect to book as a GTY in those other categories and also have the refundable deposit. Anyway, I was just pointing it out as some newbies do not realize about the non-refundable aspect. As long as you go in understanding the situation, it's all good. ETA: Talk to your TA. Is this a new TA? There are some good online discount TA's in USA that beat pants off Canadian TA's who generally do not discount at all. So, you are lucky if you are getting lower price than website from a Canadian TA. Anyway, my US-based TA's would apply the same discount percent to either IF GTY (Non-Ref Dep) or IB GTY (Ref Dep). So, the upgrade cost NET would be under $42/pp or at most $42 approx per person. Just sayin'.
  19. Sure, and also check Obstructed Balconies. However, on OP's voyage the upcharge for an OV is $600/pp (they are Premium) and OP has stated on a tight budget.
  20. Hear that, but this move concept was not about the bid process. Perhaps it all was getting muddled together by the OP's wording, but I took his question to mean electing to request a move after receiving a GTY cabin assignment and not from an upgrade bid.
  21. @WingerSupreme, just took a dive into your voyage. For $98 total more, you can select any cabin up through IB. This gives you a wide range of choice since PCL is not charging a premium above IE. Your deposit is refundable. Many of us like the "sideways" Inside ones on the Royal Class ships as they have a nice layout for desk and closet area. I highly recommend booking the refundable deposit whether you decide to choose the cabin or not.
  22. Won't disagree, but this is not the case for the OP's voyage of choice.
