  1. I do agree it is a tedious process and I do wonder if they get back many completed ones? Another thing I do not like is they give a pretty short timespan to complete it in and when I get back home, often busy catching up on things.
  2. My guess is they got rid of it rather than trying to improve it. It is kind if funny, because a year or so back (or less), they did announce it was going to be upgraded and provide a notification of received message. Something changed that. Most people consider it pretty useless without the notification. Secondly, with most guests on an internet plan, a slew of messaging options is available that are much better. For me, I'd rather they spend IT resources fixing and improving the things they need to provide for a better pre-cruise and on-board experience. I don't them providing and supporting a thir-rate messaging system.
  3. Main showtimes in the theater are 7:30pm and 9:30pm - mostly. Could be shifted 1/2 hr later on Euro itineraries. Some headliner shows may be set 15 min off the preceding. In addition, there are other entertainment experiences scheduled at various times - but a ship will often have a discernable pattern to these once you see a couple of schedules on board (formerly the Princess Patter). So, figure out how much time you want for dinner (at least budget an hour), plus how much ahead of time you want to be in the theater, and book accordingly. Or, do walk-up if you prefer. If you book and are totally wrong for what you want to do, then you can work with DR Hosts and make changes.
  4. This all said, we are all speculating to some degree here and I do like the idea that the levels may be used to sort out TD, from staggered reservations, to AT walk-ups. Give all the options to the guests and organize by location. IMO, speed of service can always be a request thing and no one at PCL seems to be paying attention to the option in the App. I would say the only issue a guest would have is to not expect any variation in service if sharing a table in a TD situation. Not easy to get outside the lane the table is in. One way to speed service is to order less things or less courses. But so much easier to control pace with a private table.
  5. If this is true, then PCL has to be bringing back organized and formalized (not clothing) TD experience.
  6. I do not see why multiple kitchens would be required to produce a chicken fingers and fries dish versus a filet mignon dish.
  7. SEE ABOVE UNDER EACH ITEM.
  8. According to the sticky for key crew members on all ships at the top of this forum, Jodi is scheduled to be on the Crown until April sometime.
  9. Not sure if we will ever cruise from SP, but were the Suites & Elites in their own area and did they board ahead of Platinum? Or, were you at least handed different boarding group cards so when they opened it up, the A's and B's were Suites and Elites, with Platinum following?
  10. When this was discussed last year post-announcement, the general consensus was it was referring to the formality of the meals and dishes and not the guests' attire.
  11. The way to peg a CC Member is this: 1. Type the "@" symbol. 2. Then, begin to type their handle, like: @do 3. A pop-up window with a list of matching handles appears. 4. Keep typing the handle name until you see the one you want. 5. This is important: You must click on the handle name in order to complete a valid tag. 6. If done correctly, it will look like this: @dog. 7. When you have a correct tag, the member will receive a notice via email about the post. In this case, they may see your post since following this thread. But, best to use the method above.
  12. Yes, that is the current price. You can also purchase on board Day 1/2.
  13. As early as you like up to 2:00pm. Is 3pm the actual sailing time or is it the end of check-in? If the latter, sail time will be more like 4pm. They will open doors more like 10am and could begin boarding by about 11am. For certain, they will begin check-in process well before 12pm. Same everywhere. PS - Depart is 3pm. No way they are going to be processing a ship of guests in a 2hr window.
  14. I have not done this for a while, but does the payment section allow you to put in name and billing address? If not, it will be defaulting to the booking information and then the CC database check will fail and payment denied.
  15. If I did that, I would wait until they were in the smoking area and take it all there. But I do wonder how someone managed to peg a couple in all the areas when no direct lines of sight for all four.
  16. Right, but the OP just booked. 😉
  17. How about booking the excursion for them in their Cruise Personalizer and use your credit card to pay?
  18. If you don't like it, just delete the App. Your booking is your booking and the new App did not mess with that. But realize the old App is going to be retired - perhaps as early as next 4 weeks.
  19. Well, you might say that technically as it is not offered like it used to be, but a savvy guest can still get the TD experience by working with DR Mgmt or Host.
  20. That part is true, but booking multiple cruises does result in multiple benefits IIRC from other posters.
  21. Got it. I do all our PCL bookings in USD and drives me nuts when at home and website only shows me CAD. We are down in FL now and I see USD unless logged in.
