  1. I used to love Swirls and would go there every day. Sure, sometimes it was on the ice milk side, but for the most part, it was creamy and delicious. Our Christmas cruise on the Royal, it was inedible in the beginning. I literally through my cone away. Mid-cruise, I tried it again, and after a few bites, gave up. It melted in my bowl, and the end product was exactly as it felt and tasted, totally grainy. Ice cream should never be grainy! I have it one last try at the end of the cruise, and it was edible enough to finish it but nothing like it was pre-Covid. I really hope Princess switches back to the old kind!
  2. I’m happy to hear this as my DH and I were discussing how it doesn’t seem like it is prudent to be spending tons of money on new ships when there’s so much debt right now.
  3. I definitely wouldn’t risk it. Barcelona had multiple very long lines when we flew out of there after disembarking.
  4. We’ve sat up top many times on Princess tenders. It’s so refreshing up there.
  5. Alaska Railroad train- It goes through scenery part of the way that can’t be viewed by car, is relaxing, has more spacious seating than an bus, and has gorgeous views.
  6. A couple’s rate was not offered on our Royal Princess Hawaii cruise.
  7. IF it performs as well as it’s supposed to, it will be a very helpful advance for Princess! We all know MedallionNet helped but not enough.
  8. I don’t trust that as verification because that could be for any booking. It doesn’t show as attached to a specific booking.
  9. You can only view that day’s menu. Beware that the dinner menu we saw on our stateroom TV often was slightly off from our actual dining room menu when we’d go to dinner. For instance, we specifically decided to go to the dining room one night for me to have Filet Mignon with Bernaise as per the TV, but then once we saw the paper menu, it said Filet Mignon with Bordelaise, which I don’t eat.
  10. You can get a California Roll. It’s not on their official menu but is on Dine My Way and is available for order at Ocean Terrace. Other than that, the menu really is raw. It’s fun to go there occasionally for a mid evening snack while listening to the live music in the Piazza.
  11. The International Cafe would be the absolute quickest to grab coffee and a pastry, but you can make the buffet quick, too, if you want eggs.
  12. Local guides and drivers should be tipped in the local currency, so they don’t have to pay to convert their tips to Euros. On the ship, you can choose to tip crew in Euros or USD because both are useful to them.
  13. A) 2014 17 day Med cruise aboard the brand new Regal- Only 1 other person had ever slept in our stateroom. The crew was the best of the best. Chef Alfredo himself was onboard, sourcing the best grapes and tomatoes from Italy and producing the best food onboard. The ports were amazing. This cruise started our Europe addiction. B) 2023 14 day Med cruise aboard the Enchanted- I can’t wait to return to Italy and the Greek Isles! C) 10 nights at the Sheraton Waikiki during the pandemic- I loved going down the water slide, playing in the ocean, having Eggs Benedict almost every day, the awesome fresh fish sandwiches, the Hawaiian music, relaxation, and evening strolls through Waikiki. I missed cruising terribly, and this was the closest I could get. D) 27, I believe
  14. Ok, thank you. I see my purchase of it there, but how do I verify it’s still attached to my booking? My fear is that they’ve yanked it now that they’re only doing the Zero Proof. I could have sworn my app used to show my Non-Alcoholic package when I clicked on Drinks Packages or something else within my cruise. Now I can’t find it anywhere.
  15. I booked the Classic Non-Alcoholic drinks package for my upcoming cruise, and with all this talk about them changing to the Zero Proof package, I want to verify I still have what I booked. I can’t find it anywhere in the app or on the website. Where can I view what I have booked?
  16. Does anyone have a definitive answer yet? I had booked the Class Non-Alcoholic Package for my upcoming cruise and was considering cancelling it. I went onto the site, and drink packages showed as coming soon with no other info.
  17. I would do the Connoisseur Princess cruisetour and then embark on a one-way cruise south to Vancouver. Why Princess? Because they were one of the original cruise lines to see Alaska and still get to sail to Glacier Bay and because they own their own lodges for the cruisetour part, ensuring a seamless, quality experience. I would pick a balcony to be able to see the wildlife and scenery without leaving my stateroom.
  18. Mrs. Chemmo, I’m so sorry for your loss. God bless you as you grieve, and thank you for reminding us of the importance of building memories and not putting them off. May your future be full of many cruises with your husband sailing along with you in your heart. I’ll continue to be an avid reader of your blogs.
  19. This has been useful to me, too; thank you, everyone! Even though it’s just DH and I, we have a lot of luggage and my mobility scooter, so I was wondering the same thing for our upcoming trip.
  20. Years ago, they told us they limit it to 40 passes per cruise plus suite access. That was on a Grand class ship. I’d assume it would be higher than 40 on the Enchanted, since the Enclave is bigger on the newer ships, but I’d hope not too many more as it’s supposed to be exclusive. From our experience, it used to be very exclusive, including on the Royal class ships. On our most recent cruise aboard the Royal, we still absolutely loved it and will book it again, but there were wayyyyyyy more people this time. People would set up camp on a stone lounger or water bed and stay for hours, making it so no one else could use one. It clearly states 15 min on a sign, but those people didn’t go by it. The steam rooms were always easily accessible at least. The thalassotherapy pool was busy at times and not at others. I even saw a couple getting a tour toward the end of our cruise, and I couldn’t imagine adding 2 more people.
  21. I think it really comes down to preference because the menu the same in all three dining rooms, and all are now Dine My Way instead of Anytime vs Traditional. We personally preferred the Concerto dining room midship on Deck 6 because it was easiest for us to reach from our midship stateroom, and we had great experiences with the waiters and Restaurant managers there. We did have to select Allegro once due to Concerto being fully booked. It was a bit of a hassle because you have to go all the way aft and down. Now, if you are in an aft stateroom, it would be perfect. Symphony was never offered as an option to book for some reason. It was the dining room always used for arts and crafts during the day. I don’t know if it was used for anything in the evening.
  22. You did technically receive an upgrade, though to you, I recognize it was a downgrade. Hopefully your TA didn’t forget to mark your booking as “No Upgrade” after your wife requested it. As for being separated from the rest of your traveling party, if you have linked bookings and are next to each other, that should have prevented you from being separated. I wonder if your TA ever linked your bookings. I think fat this point, you’ll probably never know the reason, but I hope you end up enjoying your new stateroom and can enjoy your cruise!
