  1. Had dinner in Aqualina on the Journey last night. Same menu as this one. The food and service were excellent. Same with the main dining room.
  2. Yes, you can do it online or by calling. We have done it for all upcoming cruises where it seems like a good deal.
  3. It varies by cruise. Some are out for cruises next year. Just keep checking - and go into "manage my reservation" to check. If you want to pay with OBC you will have to call customer service to do that.
  4. I was also able to use OBC to purchase a dining package ahead of time. In addition, because I did not have enough left on my first cruise, the agent used some OBC from the 2nd of our b2b cruises to pay the remainder. The dining package was for the first cruise.
  5. We were on a segment during the 2018 World Cruise and the dynamics were exactly the same as any of the other 18 Azamara cruises that we have taken. In fact, we met many of the world cruisers and have cruised with some of them since. They were a lovely group of people and we never noticed anything different. Certainly never felt like an outsider looking in. Judging from the posts from the current world cruisers, it would seem as though they are equally as nice and welcoming. For the most part, Azamara cruisers are a nice, friendly bunch who are enjoying traveling and meeting new people.
  6. Yesterday I received an email about the culinary packages. A 3 table package was $85pp, a 4 table package was $115pp. We will be on the Journey in a couple of weeks.
  7. The absolute best thing that you can do is mention a crew member on the mid and end of cruise survey. Those positive remarks are a big part of them receiving promotions...which is a huge benefit to the crew member in the long run. We always contribute to the crew fund as well.
  8. I would demand that your travel agency send you the Azamara invoice. I always receive the AZ invoice from my TA. That is the only way that you will actually know for sure what price you booked with AZ. If the AZ invoice does not match the one from your TA, then it's the TA's fault. If it does match the one from your TA, then it's Azamara's fault. I feel for what you are going through but you need to have all of the information before making accusations. Did you book a suite and that is why your deposit is $2200?
  9. I've been waiting for the b2b onboard credit to show up in our account for our 2025 January cruises. At one point it was showing in my account and then it disappeared. Rather than bother my TA about it, since it's a ways off, I filled out the Contact Us form on the website. Within an hour I had a response saying that it was now in my account ... and, sure enough, it's there. I am cautiously optimistic that this will be the way that things work going forward and wanted to give a shout out to the AZ customer service team responding to emails.
  10. We were on the Journey in September when they first rolled out the option to upgrade the internet. We had lots of OBC so decided to try it out. It was definitely better than the basic internet. We are on your cruise and plan on purchasing the upgrade.
  11. Did you get your 3 free nights (25% off) in addition to any promotions going on and your onboard booking discount? In the past, we have been able to get the onboard booking discount in addition to the free nights but not any additional current promotions.
  12. The Avenida Palace is beautiful and pretty close to where the ship should be docked. Great location with lots of restaurants in the area.

    Todays Email

Just received an email about booking excursions and OBC. OBC is now showing on our account for some cruises but not other, however progress is being made.
  14. They were excellent and very easy to work with. We did the Bilbao tour for cruise ship passengers. The private guide in the Guggenheim was an add on which was very reasonable and so worthwhile. The food tastings were sufficient to be lunch. There were 8 of us (the largest # that they can accommodate) and we had an incredible day.
  15. We just did the Wine and Culture cruise in September that stopped in Bilbao. We arranged a private tour that included a private guide in the Guggenheim. It was fabulous. Saw and learned things that we never would have noticed on our own. The company was Best of Basque and it was a great tour. We are on the Montreal to Iceland cruise as well. Looks to be a great itinerary.

    Refer & Receive

I received my certificate about 2 weeks ago and was able to apply it to a final payment due last week. My TA had to provide them with the certificate number and it was applied. I agree - this seems like more of a hassle than it's worth. I liked the old way.
  17. We've been on 6 post-covid and all were wonderful. Looking forward to the next 6 ... and what the future may bring with the new management.
  18. I think that's great news. Carol Cabezas has done a horrible job with this conversion and should be replaced.

    New website.

We have 6 upcoming cruises and all confirmations and booklets have been provided by our TA. A good TA will take care of everything. We book onboard so have those confirmations. By the time we get home our TA has already emailed us another set of confirmations and our guest ticket booklet.
  20. When you login to the ship's wifi on the 2nd device with the same username, it will prompt you to disconnect the 1st device. Occasionally, it seems to not notice, but I wouldn't count on that. I believe they also have controls that prohibit your ability to tether your 2nd device to a device already connected to the ship's wifi, thereby requiring you to have 2 usernames/packages. Whether those controls work consistently or not, who knows.
  21. Thanks for the response. Now we know!
  22. Yes, we've done it in the past and have received the discounted price when making payment onboard - a mix of OBC and CC. Happy to hear that they are still doing it and hope that it's not a wait for your 10% at a later date.
  23. Has anyone purchased excursions for an upcoming cruise while onboard and been able to get the discount that they offer and use OBC? We've done this in the past. Unsure if they are still doing it post-conversion.

    OBC Issues

You will not see TA OBC on your account. It generally shows up onboard on the second day of your cruise (that's been our experience). As far as I know, you have never been able to use TA OBC prior to getting onboard. It is after all, onboard credit! In the past, we have been able to use Azamara OBC prior to embarkation to book shore excursions. That's where the confusion seems to be now. Some have reported being able to use it prior to final payment, some have been told that it can't be used until final payment has been received, and some have reported being told that it can't be used until 30 days prior to your sail date. It seems to be dependent on the agent you speak with.

    Wifi cost

It's possible, but given everyone who purchased internet had unlimited speed with a full ship on Onward in January, it didn't seem to be a constraint. I suspect if they made it totally free and unlimited speed, that could be an issue. Perhaps they should test providing constrained speed free for all and unlimited speed for the purchased packages. An additional charge would certainly limit the number of people using it. With the low speed you could certainly still text and email.
