  1. I am very willing to stay on the phone for the "quick survey" so as to properly give feedback for reps like this . 👎
  2. Well no . I'm happy to complain about smoke and don't care at all about e-cig vapor . Vape away. Flavored vapes create a mild odor which is unlikely to persist.
  3. Just got an email informing me that I can bid to upgrade. Multiple options from penthouse suite with a minimum $810 PP to a premium deluxe balcony for $30 which is odd because that's what I booked. Cruise is March 2.
  4. Interesting . I'm booked on a Prestige Cruise and we got the "This reservation is not eligible for Princess Upgrade at this time." message . Others got the same and nobody has mentioned getting an eligible to bid message. So on a casino cruise there may be less available ?
  5. Exactly. As a big CCL investor (100 shares) I also wonder about the wisdom of this program. Do they want us to book down and then bid for the cabin we actually want? Then you have those who are annoyed at not being allowed to bid or much worse those who won their bid and are furious because of its poor location. Seems like a foolish idea looking long-term but I'm sure some VP is getting a bonus.
  6. Are you a GTY ? I am and haven't been assigned a cabin so I'm assuming that is why I can't bid .
  7. Really? Heads we win, tails they lose?? At best, for now, NCL sees port fees as a big pot that in total they are not willing to lose money on . So tell me about this accountant who goes over the books to find refunds for us .🤣 All the cruise lines are unwilling to come clean with port fees . Just like gratuities . They insist on keeping the accounting opaque .
  8. Did you purposely edit my comment ? OK fine. NCL is the leader when it comes to finding new ways of making shady money off their customers.
  9. NCL always is the leader when it comes to making money off their customers. I'm thinking they see this as a new revenue stream . Perhaps the same for gratuities.
  10. Hmm. Please tell us the outcome . Hopefully the new assigned cabin will be a higher level cabin.
  11. Here it is from CCL but in short you will get $100 OBC on all their brands for a 1 week cruise. SHAREHOLDER BENEFIT Carnival Corporation & plc is pleased to extend the following benefit to our shareholders: NORTH AMERICA BRANDS CONTINENTAL EUROPE BRANDS UNITED KINGDOM BRANDS AUSTRALIA BRANDS Onboard credit per stateroom on sailings of 14 days or longer US $250 €200 £150 A$250 Onboard credit per stateroom on sailings of 7 to 13 days US $100 € 75 £ 60 A$100 Onboard credit per stateroom on sailings of 6 days or less US $ 50 € 40 £ 30 A$ 50 ShareholderBenefit2023-2024.pdf
  12. Some of the issue here seems to be cruise stocks as an investment vs purchasing just the 100 shares to get the shareholder benefit . You can believe that the massive debt load along with any future world calamity makes these stocks an iffy bet and still make the small investment in your favorite company just to get the stock benefit . That's what I've done.
  13. Double what DW paid for it last spring ! 😁 Half of what I paid for it years ago. 😥 Oh well, price averaging.
  14. Just found out that my March 2 Sky cruise is a prestige cruise . Any idea how many people would be a part of this. I'd feel better if it was a smaller number.
  15. Princess Cruise Res is who my CC has as the payee but the card was given to the TA . My understanding is that an escrow account is used by agents with the funds going to the cruise company or airline or whatever. Again my issue is why Princess isn't showing me my cruise payments like they have in the past.
  16. It's 90 days, final payment date, from my cruise booked with a TA . I paid automatically on a CC a week ago as per my TA's policy . When I go to the Princess site or their app, I see this To make a payment or check your balance on the booking, contact your travel agent. with no info on my payments My TA's site is rudimentary and doesn't show payments. I called both Princess and the TA as well as looking at my CC balance and the cruise is fully paid for. This is not the first time booking Princess with this agency and previously Princess showed my payments . Is this new? Have things changed? It's very disconcerting not to be able to see payments on my Princess account . Edited to add that all my OBC credits are shown on my Princess
  17. Any company is the hospitality business is and should be judged on worst case examples . I must say that your Brilliance story is almost too generous. It doesn't excuse RC from their shameful initial response in this topic . And I do agree IF it had been handled like this other Aussie story, we wouldn't be so interested . But they didn't.
  18. And even if all that's true it's still unacceptable whether or not they were in a hurry . Screwing over passengers because there is a last minute snafu speaks to an uncaring corporate ethos where basic customer care is forgotten.
  19. So you know that RC isn't overbooking? If not why not announce the reason ?
  20. Depends if it's your molehill . Plus doesn't it indicate something greater like a lack of customer care? I hope RC gets little credit for doing the right thing .... when they were shamed into it . I hope they offered the same deal to those that didn't go public with this shoddy treatment . Exactly. It's not the mistake, it's the reaction to the mistake. I'd still like to know is RC overbooking or were cabins taken out of commission for some unknown reason . Frankly overbooking is not a terrible sin IF those turned away are fully satisfied volunteers.
  21. Very true. I guess it's worse because the consequences are worse and it's new bad idea .You can generally get on a later flight with good compensation. Besides do we excuse this because other travel segments are overbooking ?
  22. sss Multiple mentions of , "That's why I never book QTY cabins . That's partially putting some of the blame on people booking them . You are free to disagree. Secondly, when passengers don't show up RC gets the full amount of their cruise PLUS the amount of cabins they can sell again. If you overbook you get double revenue at the risk of screwing certain passengers when not enough people don't show up . Royal is willing to take that risk and that's why shame on them !
