  1. Princess 'loses' a cruise fare in OBC - it may be OBC used on the moved over cruise (cheap) or worst case refunded as a check. Our move over was from a 5 day western on Crown, and we chose a 7 day eastern on Regal - with the 5 day Crown fare as refundable OBC on Regal ... this was pre-PLUS - but we were still able to get a 'free' beverage package, and a soda package with enough OBC for 2 specialty dinners and a catamaran cruise in St. Thomas Our previously purchased beverage package was refunded to our method of payment. It worked very well for us, and only delayed our cruise by 1 week ... our choice ... same cabin class as I recall.
  2. Spend some time in an AIRPORT bar ... then you will appreciate Princess prices 🤑
  3. we won't, of course, (PLUS 50 doesn't cover) - but how much do these cost al a carte?
  4. or start a new "Live From ___________ (the SKY in currently docked in PE) thread.
  5. would you buy a package that included wifi (one device) 'CA' (crew appreciation) 5 alcoholic drinks and 5 non-alcoholic drinks per day? for the old PLUS cost of $40 per person per day? or pay the current price of $60 for 15 alcoholic drinks and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks? now, I know you are an exception to this question since you bring on your own wine - but what about when that option is eliminated? others?
  6. Isn't it great the Princess offers all kinds of options for various cruiser needs ... and not just a one size fits all.
  7. i hope they still have my off menu loaded baked potato, extra butter, of course
  8. we value wifi/internet at $-0-. Didn't buy it prior to Platinum - hardly used it after we got 'minutes'. ala carte, we 'might' buy a single device 'package' at $7.50 per day - wouldn't need one each. so for us, we HAVE to drink more beverages to justify. Guess we will just have to do that. $40 each per person per day for beverages is very doable for us - basically 3 alcohol - then water, coffees, etc. stay hydrated
  9. those 'bean counters' are highly trained professionals with CPA, MBA etc degrees and experience. they are not interested in individual wants or needs, but what they can do for the 'masses' that potentially buy the packages and improve Princess bottom line for their stockholders.
  10. yep, suite passenger, right? even elite we just show up and board when called
  11. is 'anything' truly fleet wide on Princess?
  12. more work and less commission for your TA ... j/s
  13. Presuming - NOT paying into the pool ... as I stated
  14. I agree with you ... but ... always that but One person can buy the drink Package , then both either can or don't pay grats, and wifi
  15. I like that answer - and what Princess is doing you want a card? - no problem - turn in your medallion and we will issue the blue blank ship card. Perfect
  16. same for us - booked PLUS at $50 pp pd - see no need at all to 'upgrade' to the $60 pp pd - and it would cost us $300 - ($30 x 2 x 5 days) to go to PREMIER at $80 pp pd - somewhat offset by 2 specialty dinners each, and the door game...
  17. The Big Red Boat - SS Oceanic - 4 day out of Port Canaveral - early 1990's Note: I 'hated' the traditional dining and we didn't cruise again until the kids were grown, moved out and in 2007 went on the DIAMOND to Alaska
  18. the 'ado' and sorry if this has already been posted ... is that with the 'cruise cards' noone could get them early and everyone was on the same playing field based on status. now - let's just say I want to rush onboard and secure a spot in the Sanctuary, dining, etc - how many people can I pass in that few moments they are in line to pick up their medallions and I'm thru security boarding this may all be moot, I dunno, if we are herded into a room to await boarding ...
  19. It's not personal, Sonny ... It's strictly business. 🐴 agreed - will be interesting to see which questions are addressed...or if it just turns into a rah, rah session
  20. 'large' gambling losses included in itemized deductions, is a definite marker aka red flag, for additional documentation. and it's a W-2G - not 1099-G ( gov payouts )
  21. Peroni - bogo at our local Publix this week - that works and Chloe wines - also bogo
  22. which only means you get to pay the full amount of taxes when you file your return 😉
