  1. Sounds a lot like a medical emergency. Most likely the case.
  2. I’ve been doing my double digit dance all day ! 💃 🕺
  3. Interesting that she’s having pod trouble when she just had extensive pod work done in May. It was even rumored that she got 2 brand new pods, which it looks like in this photo. Hopefully it’s just a quick fix ! Thanks for all the updates.
  4. I read somewhere that MSC will match your loyalty status with other cruise lines. Does anybody know if that’s true? I definitely wouldn’t mind trying them after I turn platinum on Carnival this year.
  5. I hate how the media scares the general public into thinking that you can just “fall” off the ship through no fault of your own. If you fall off you either did something to deserve it, or you were murdered.
  6. Unfortunately I don’t think Carnival will build any ships in the 90k ton range probably ever again. For the height restricted ports I know Carnival and other lines were pushing them to build terminals on the other side of their bridges, this would ultimately force those ports hands into having to do it to stay in the industry. With the new Panama Canal locks that can accommodate ships of almost any size, the need for smaller ships just isn’t there, and the larger ships are way more profitable. I think you hit it right that their next new class would be around 150k-160k, I could definitely see that. They are going to have to be creative to offer “new” ships in the coming years. Like you said I think they will do a few “sunshine” type renovations probably on the Conquest or even Spirit class ships possibly with new names to market them as new. I thought if the Costa concept went well we could definitely see more transfers from Costa (Diadema or dare I say Smeralda or Toscana) because honestly I don’t think the Costa brand is gonna last another 15 years. However once it was announced Venezia already got sent to Florida , it’s obvious those must not be selling well. It’s definitely gonna be interesting to see how they stay competitive in a vastly evolving market over the next 5-10 years.
  7. You would probably enjoy the “behind the fun” tour. You get to see a lot of these areas for yourself. Check it out on your next cruise! You typically have to book it on embarkation day because it sells out very fast and spots are very limited.
  8. So I’m genuinely curious because I have my first extended aft balcony on the Legend in 2 weeks, are you saying that I could request a lounger instead of a chair ? That would be awesome.
  9. Well the cruise was sold out and I didn’t see anybody complaining about getting cancelled so I’m assuming there was no staterooms taken out of service. The reports of so many passengers forced out of their rooms and sleeping in the elevator banks during that storm sound grossly exaggerated. I doubt they could fix that many staterooms during an 11 hour turnaround.
  10. The crew center footage looks real to me. I did the behind the fun tour on Sunshine years ago and that is exactly how I remember it. As for the sunlight, the lounge was up in the forward part of the ship and connected to the bow of the ship. The crew has an outdoor lounge area on the bow right there connected to the lounge.
  11. I noticed it’s different on every ship. I use this channel a lot as well. We went on Freedom, Ecstasy, and Mardi Gras last year and each one had different info provided. I can’t remember which one, but one of them didn’t even provide the current speed lol
  12. Th Thank you guys for the responses! We only got to experience Quest one time before Covid and we had soooo much fun. Was looking forward to experiencing it again but sounds like they changed it.
  13. I had saw recently that they started bringing back the Carnival Quest on certain ships. I was wondering if anybody has recently been on the Legend and know if they offered it ?
  14. I think you guys are mostly overreacting to supply chain issues. It’s very likely they simply can’t get the fries they are used to serving. I work in a hospital and we are lucky to get ANY brand of whatever it is we are trying to order. Half the time we just get straight up stiffed and told there was even no substitutions available. I’m trying to imagine the amount of fries they need to supply all their ships and can only imagine the absolute headache it is to get an adequate supplier in todays world. It’s simply not that easy anymore.
  15. You have to go and pick up all your freebies now. I really don’t know why they haven't resumed delivering to the cabin. Probably so they can save some money on people like you that didn’t know.
  16. Supply and demand. Mardi Gras has way more rooms to fill, and a lot more competition in Port Canaveral. Liberty doesn’t have much competition in the 7 day market from NOLA, and less rooms to fill. I’ve learned over the years you can generally get better deals on the bigger ships because they have more rooms to sell.
  17. I can 100% see where the OP is coming from. This was the Freedom the other day docked next to her sister. You can visibly see that it’s much more worn out because the smoke and soot doesn’t go out and away from the ship like the winged funnels provide. Now does this affect you’re cruise experience? Probably not BUT i can totally see why somebody wouldn’t want to bring a first timer to this ship. Not the best first impression. I understand the first available dry dock wasn’t until october but they know they can do better to at least keep it looking fresh.
  18. I know some of them do because I’ve seen them on eBay for Magic, Dream, and a couple others. Just curious about the Legend because I would love to add an updated one to the collection.
  19. Is there anybody currently or recently on the Legend that could tell me if they have the official licensed ship models in stock? Also curious if they are newer models with the new red, white, and blue hull livery. I know supply has been hit and miss on certain ships and I’m just curious because we sail the Legend soon. Thanks in advance if anybody replies!
  20. Glory was done during the Covid shutdown. One of the first to receive.
  21. Just because it wasn’t posted here doesn’t mean it wasn’t done. Conquest and Miracle were done in the fall, Elation was just done in January. Pride and Freedom are up next this year. Then Splendor and Panorama will complete the fleet likely in 2024.
  22. While that may be true, that’s up to them to decide. If they still feel like they really really want all the extra bells and whistles at the extra cost, then they can go do that after. Live and learn. All I was saying is that I can confirm the non stop Icon ads are turning heads to the whole cruise industry and funneling money into all the main lines and not just Royal. I do find it funny that they market it as the ultimate family vacation but 75% of average American families can not afford it.
  23. This is definitely true, a few members of our family who never had any interest in cruising saw the Icon ads and ran to book it for all the bells and whistles, then after reviewing the price they decided they are now cruising with us on the Carnival Legend for less than half the price 😄
  24. Everybody has already told you how great the Spirit is so I thought I would chime in and compliment the Mobile cruise terminal. We sailed from Mobile on the Carnval Ecstasy’s final voyage back in October. It was one of the easiest terminals to get through we have ever experienced. They really pushed us through the line, we arrived at the terminal at 10:30 am and we were literally walking onto the ship at 10:58 am! I was very impressed with how easy and quick their boarding process was. Debarkation was equally as efficient.
