I have no query about pricing of alcohol on any P&O cruise or comparisons If you read the thread my comments were about OBC which one said perhaps they should get rid of it because you don't get Peninsular Club discount on anything purchased with OBC. I stated that it was good business sense to give OBC by P&O because it a tally costs them very little because it is spent onboard and most items have high mark up i.e. alcohol purchased in bars. The answer is to read the thread from the begining instead of halfway through and get the full facts.
None at all but many have a complaint that they don't get Peninsular Club discount until they have spent OBC therefore have no loyalty benefit. You cannot argue with that but I have never worried about until OBC has been spent.
It is just as easy to walk along the river side in Lisbon to the square and the bottom of pedestrianised shopping area. The shuttle bus takes you just as far away at top of the main area.
I've lost you?? Simple really if P&O by a litre bottle of whisky for £10 (they probably pay less than that) and charge £3 for a 25ml measure. So on that 1 litre bottle there is 40 measures so therefore would take £120 for a bottle that cost them less than £10. That is a massive profit simple really.
If you book a QG, PG or BC you eat in the specified desperate dining room, all others balcony, ocean view and inside staterooms you eat in Britannia MDR.
Talking about alcohol purchased in the bars not by the bottle from duty free shop.Tjere is a huge mark up on drinks sold onboard whether alcohol or soft drinks.
They will never abolish it because they can charge you higher for a Select fare and then the OBC is spent on board which majority has a high mark up especially alcohol so costs P&O very little.
Yes choice of stateroom which too many is a great benefit. Leaving the choice to P&O is fraught with the danger having a poor position stateroom i.e. seasickness and noise.
Very disappointed QV all fly cruises no QE, QA very expensive IMO and QM2 doing her usual TAs. Sorry having just returned from QV in a PG really don't think it is worth £750+ per night for a couple. No mention of QG prices and shudder to think what extortionate prices they are and honestly think there is just as good experience if not better with other cruise companies for similar prices.
Not sure about rules about health questionnaire and covid proof embarking other than UK but on our recent cruise from Southampton UK on QV you have to fill in a basic health declaration 3 days prior to boarding which is wise for you to answer NO to all questions. Cunard ask you to take a self-administered covid test within 3 days of boarding. On our arrival they stamp your boarding pass "fir to board" and they never asked whether we had taken a covid test or what the result was.
You will be the last to disembark QM2 and then have to go through immigration and then you have to wait for the ship to get clearance before you are allowed to embark again. A farcical situation that happens nowhere in the world except US. We have done a fer roundtrip TAs but never had to go through this silly system as we have always got off the ship and gone across to Manhattan by ferry and had time there before returning.
Not exactly because not everyone has Peninsular Club discount. It has always been the case that you get no Peninsular Club discount, if applicable, until all your OBC has been spent.
When I was shopping around for a quote for annual policy before I used Nationwide Flexplus and their included worldwide travel policy I had a quote independently from Staysure and Avanti for myself and my wife and they were exactly the same to a penny.
In Queens Lounge on QV any hot drinks i.e. coffees, teas and hot chocolate were free so I should imagine it would be the same on QM2 if not I would find it very strange and disappointing.
