  1. Oh my! We had never been to 150 CP, could never get DH to go there. In January we cruised with the kids (Son, DiL, GD) on Oasis and I booked the restaurant with the UDP. The Fried Cheesecake is fantastic! I think even DH would go back to the restaurant for that. 😁 I assume it's the same on Harmony. It probably runs a close second if not a tie to my favorite Royal dessert, which is The World from Wonderland.
  2. Deck 15, Port side I believe and in the Casino. I would have to ask the kids if there are any other areas.
  3. Are you saying Royal has unclear or conflicting information? Say it isn't so!! 😆 Didn't realize there was even a consent form, and maybe that is good enough. For just about everywhere but North America, the age is 18.
  4. Royal's international age policy for sailing unaccompanied from the US is 21 years old. The exceptions are if minors are sailing with parents or guardians in connecting stateroom, married couples, or active-duty military. I understand the seniors may be in a room with another adult, but unless they are their legal guardian, it could be questioned. Take the notarized letter from the parents as a precaution. It's better to have it and not need it than the other way around. 🙂 RCL Age Policy
  5. Francis and Chantelle. Francis said he was supposed to get a break sometime this month, I think, but thought his contract would be extended. I had asked if he was going to be in the Suite Lounge for the March 12th sailing. It sounded very promising that he is and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Such a nice guy. I'm not sure about Chantelle. I even got to meet the internet sensation of Shane, the Star Class genie, such a sweetheart. I had seen him in the Suite waiting area when I took my Dad on vacation on Oasis about a year ago. We were sitting directly behind one of his families while he was talking to them, and I was explaining to my Dad what a genie was. Shane actually remembered me, asking if we were sitting behind one of his families. I said yes and I that I was coveting his LV bag. 😁
  6. We got lucky on Oasis a couple of weeks ago, the suite Concierge was fantastic and did a great job with our party of 5. The only restaurant that was an issue was Hibachi. We weren't able to get the early time like we requested, but did get a mid-time.
  7. Do you know if the concierge can do that for Suite Guests as well? We were unable to get the time we wanted for Hibachi with UDP. I've never tried this approach.
  8. We just returned from a wonderful cruise with our family last week that included San Juan. We booked a custom private tour with Puerto Rico Green Transporation for 5 hours for our Son, Daughter-in-Law, and Granddaughter just for them as family time. We requested a Lexus SUV so the kids would have room to bring a little extra plus our DIL's camera equipment. I thought the hourly rate was very reasonable and there was a charge for the Tour Guide. Tip was not included in the amount. 48 Hours prior to arrival, a pre-authorization was put on my credit card plus an additional three hours of service as a Refundable Security Deposit. This allows them to easily extend the tour if they wanted. Once the tour is complete, the final amount is actually charged, and any hold released. The kids only used 4 hours because the last hour they had the driver drop them off at a local restaurant for dinner. This allowed the driver to go home early although the kids offered to buy his meal. The cost of the tour was adjusted for that hour, even though I wasn't expecting that. The Driver/Tour Guide was a gentleman named Roberto. We actually met him first when we got off the ship because they went in the non-excursion line, and he was standing at the end of the excursion line. He was waiting with a sign with my Son's name, very nice guy. The kids thought he was fantastic and had a great tour of San Juan. Roberto is very knowledgeable of the area and the history, and they really enjoyed themselves. DIL loves to learn about history and just soaked everything up while taking pictures. One place he took them is a memorial wall for locals that lost their lives in war. I don't know if they are altogether, but my son found the one for Iraq, he did two tours there. One of the guys in his unit was from San Juan and in his Humvee when they hit an IED. Unfortunately, when he was trying to exit the vehicle, he took rounds and didn't survive. Roberto was very surprised my son new someone on the wall. It was a moving moment for all of them. We were very pleased with the service from Green and would recommend them to anyone looking for something a little different to do in San Juan. 🙂
  9. I don't remember the last name, but Francis was Suite Lounge Concierge on Oasis last week. He was fabulous and such a nice person. He was working with Chantelle and both did a great job. 🙂
  10. GS on Indy in September, no free WI-Fi. Did get it for the full suite on Oasis last week.
  11. I know restaurants vary ship to ship, just off Oasis where we had dinner at 150. DS had the scallop appetizer and he said that was good. DH had the short rib, it was fork tender and he said very good to excellent. Two of us had the Beef Wellington, we each did a portion for one since we liked it cooked differently. No issue with that. Excellent cut of beef. DIL had the Lobster Thermador while DS had the Lamb Wellington, both were also excellent. What was really amazing was the Fried Cheesecake. The World (Wonderland) is my favorite dessert from Royal, this is a close second if not tied. 😋
  12. Under the exclusions it mentions Specialty Dining pictures. So, if a photographer takes a picture while dining in one of the restaurants, those would not be included? Why would those locations be any different than other venues?
  13. This is where Royal could learn a bit from Princess. I thought their Medallion technology was great on the Crown last June. They provided a lanyard where the medallion easily snaps in. The door to the cabin automatically unlocked when you were in proximity. I think it alerted the room steward when the cabin was empty so they could clean. Easy to purchase items in the shops. Other wearables were available for purchase. The medallions even had your name, ship, and sail date imprinted.
  14. Not sure if I'll be able to attach this PDF, it's a recent map of Labadee I found. Nbr 15 is the Barefoot Beach location. Nbr 16 is the tram stop for Barefoot Beach. Just across from that is the restrooms. You can see that back row of cabanas would not be that far of a walk at all. We were in S9 and I didn't think it was that bad. But, I didn't recently have surgery either. When the Suite Concierge contacts you a week out, you can request the Cabana you would like. Doesn't mean you'll get it, but you can put in the request. labadee-map-wayfinder.pdf
  15. Yes, your friends and family can join you in your cabana, up to 8 people I believe. My SIL and her husband joined us, they were sailing in a balcony room. I don't think I would recommend the hilltop or over the water cabanas in your case. The hilltops you do have to walk up a full flight of stairs. The OTW, I think you have to walk into the water to get to the stairs. The best option would be the standard cabanas. They sit a little further back from the water, but they are easily accessible. The issue may be the walk but if I remember correctly, it only took a minute or two to get there. If it hasn't changed, it is outside the enclosed area and across the pavement walkway.
  16. I was able to order flowers for my DIL's birthday, Oasis toward the end of January. Interesting, I went back in today and getting the same error as above. I hope my paid order actually works.
  17. Oh I missed the 50% refund. I thought they only got a 25% FCC, which isn't really a good offer for people who don't cruise much (it basically becomes a coupon with no value to them). A 50% refund is okay though. The value of 50% is really based on how much time and money one invested in the vacation to begin with. 50% back on a "local" Caribbean vacation is worth more than 50% of an international one. I think that offer is fantastic. We got $200 non-refundable OBC for missing most of Alaska on the Crown Princess in June due to propulsion issues.
  18. The Beach Cabanas in Coco Beach also have the radio setup that allows Bluetooth connectivity
  19. I did that pre-covid and still do. Cannot stand the smell of gas on my hands...
  20. Unless you are able to get an additional birth certificate for your wife during that same time, I wouldn't take a chance. As you said, holidays and you never know what may happen, even though it's expedited service. Stay with your birth certificate and driver's license, you will be fine. 🙂
  21. I think I have one from the 18th and 2 from the 19th, neither have posted yet. DH just got his last night on AMEX from the 18th.
  22. I saw that this morning as well for our cruise in January and rebooked. DH's Feb cruise and mine in March haven't budged.
  23. The time you select is when you can start the check-in process inside the terminal with the agents. If you have 1100, you can arrive a little earlier to drop-off your luggage, park if needed, etc. Once inside the terminal, you should be close to your selected time slot. Some ports are stricter with arrival times than others.
