Hi girls, Cynthia, sounds like a nice time for sure🙂 I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond this morning. The store is closing and everything is at least 25% off. I got a new set of sheets and 2 different boxes of coffees. Now, let me ask all of you a question......be honest with your replies. Do you get people who actually ask your Nationality? Or ask "where are you from"? The gal at the register did that to me today........I said I am from here and I am American......she then prodded some more but at that point I didn't say anything else.....just got my stuff and left. She said she was not being offensive........I think it is really.........I guess that is where we are in these times, huh? Or is it me? Because asking someone "what they are"? is not a part of my thought process......... What do you think?

Hi, see the last line of that post you quoted.......we can all read LOL.....and in all my sailings, I have found the PA system not used very often at all. Yes, for the usual, muster and crew drills and sometimes other things but no, it is not usually used on a "regular basis".

Hi, I don't know what Carnival does but I have purchased one way transfers before with other cruiselines before. I am pretty sure they accept whatever $ you will pay though. R/T or one way, I would guess you can do either one.

I sailed from there back in October but regret to say I cannot recall which pier it was.....so sorry.

Hi Terry, great photos. I love Sitka too. The downtown area is really nice as well. Many locally owned shops with local artisans with crafts and things like that.......I enjoyed walking around the area and the folks are quite friendly too🙂....oh, to the OP, yes it is a tender port.

The games are at night so there shouldn't be an issue with anything to do with cruises, except maybe hotel prices will go up......up.......

I have had flights changed and I am pretty sure my record locator number did not change. Actually, I know an upcoming flight changed already and I have checked my flight with the same numbers. And there is no way to call the air dept.

HI, I disagree. My last 2 sailings I boarded before 2......actually, there were folks on board before 1:00 on my recent cruise out of Athens and I was on board about 1:30. I know the emails still say 2:00pm but that (in my experience) is no longer true for all sailings.

Good morning Melody🙂....it really was good! I love chicken but sometimes can't decide on what to do with it LOL.......I didn't feel like going to the grocery store and fortunately I had the cream cheese in the fridge already! The recipe actually called for mozzarella but I had provolone and it worked just as well. And as for the spices, it was Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, onion powder, garlic salt and I threw in a bit of oregano too. It also called for chili flakes but I don't keep them in the house so they were not included.

Hi PH, pizza sounds good. I haven't eaten it in a long time. I defrosted a package of chicken breasts and used my friend Google to find a recipie. They came out really good and I have 2 left. It was a 3 pack. I put some olive oil along with a few different spices in a zip lock bag and marinated the chicken for about 30 minutes. Then put them on a baking sheet and spread soft cream cheese on them and on top of that I put some sautéed spinach and then topped it off with shredded provolone and baked them for about 30 minutes. They came out really nice and the one I had was delicious!

I can't remember the last time I had a sundae but I have to say a traditional hot fudge with vanilla ice cream would be my favorite🙂

Good morning, I forgot about another brand of ice cream I really LOVE......it is called Van Leeuwen and they have some different flavors. One is called "Earl Grey Tea"......and yes, it has a tea flavor to it. It is delicious🙂 and I recently tried one called Lemon Poppy Seed......YUMMY! I think they only make it in pints but if you can find it in one of your local grocery stores, give it a try!

I have multiple cruises with SS and having daily temp checks are no longer standard practice.

I agree. I continually check my flights and have always found any changes on my own.

Maybe when they are in Japan they have different rules/regulations. I don't know because I have never sailed to that region. But my most recent cruise with SS was last month out of Athens and we did not have any temperature checks.

Did you read that on the SS forum? I sail with them regularly and have taken multiple cruises with them in the past year and have not had temperature checks on any of them. Just curious where you heard this?
