  1. Goldsborough Dr. is a 1 lane road leading to the terminal. It expands to 2 lanes near the terminal. There will be traffic personnel holding cars prior to the terminal to allow those ahead to drop luggage/passengers. There is no ramp, it is a paved road. The area closest to where cars are temporarily halted is where porters place luggage into transport carriers. Closest to the entrance, there will not be transport carriers. I do not think it will be an issue to pull alongside the transport carrier area & let passengers out & remove the wheelchair and luggage. Talk to the person stopping the cars, he may be able to assist.
  2. Yes, some cabins are better and generally deck 7 is better than deck 6. I was in 6670 on Anthem in December. It is obstructed, listed as 50%. I booked the same cabin for later this year. Looking at deck plans, 6620 should be 50% as 6670 is on both Anthem & Odyssey.
  3. I knew there was (or used to be) a hotel/cruise package in North Bergen but could not recall which hotel, thanks. At the prices quoted and your close proximity to the port, I would not use the package either. If you are looking for less expensive parking option NY Waterways has a parking garage & ferry terminal in Weehawken, NJ. Add the expense of the ferry & transportation from the NY ferry dock to/from MCT.
  4. Bridgewater is a good choice. Should have food and shopping choices on route 22 along with traffic. Bridgewater Commons is a mall. Shop Rite is the best area supermarket. If you are driving I 80 east, Parsippany NJ is an area to stay ovrrnight. Arriving at Cape Liberty before 10:15 or after 12:15 will avoid the backup of vehicles approaching the terminal. Bring the parking ticket with you, it is needed to pay before going to your car when disembarking.
  5. My first cruise out of Baltimore, I found boarding the ship to be the most difficult of any port I sailed from. I cruised from Baltimore again in April 2022 and though nothing changed, since I was aware of the multiple cross backs it was easier for me. What I noticed was that there was an employee at the entrance to the ramp offering cruisers to bypass the gangway and board the ship on a lower deck. I declined the opportunity but it was available last April. This was a Royal cruise, no reason to think the alternative entry has been removed.
  6. You're welcome. I did not include that the NYW ferry to Pier 11 is weekday only. On weekends, the ferry from PI goes to 39th street in NYC. The NYC ferry from Pier 11 to Red Hook runs on weekends.
  7. New York Waterways has a terminal & parking garage in Weehawken NJ (Port Imperial). NYW has a ferry to Pier 11 in NYC. At Pier 11 you would take NYC Ferry South Brooklyn route to Red Hook then a short walk to the terminal.
  8. Isn't there a ferry from the cruise port or nearby to Logan, if needed to avoid road traffic?
  9. Boarding times were no longer being enforced at Cape Liberty as of at least last October. 78 east will lead to the NJ turnpike. Go to exit 14A. Stay left at the toll plaza, go up the ramp following signs for 440/Chosin Few Way. Where 440 & Chosin Few Way split, despite the small sign pointing to 440 for the terminal, go right onto Chosin Few Way. CFW to the end, left on Goldsborough & 2 miles to the terminal. Arriving before 10:30 will reduce the time you wait in line approaching the terminal. All vehicles must pass the luggage drop zone before going to the parking garage & lots. With only Anthem sailing in March, you will park in the garage & do take the parking ticket with you. The walk from the garage to the terminal is 1 minute, 2 if a slow walker. Disembarking, pass through facial recognition then exit right to the parking garage. Employees will be at the pay machines to assist. After paying, get in line for the garage elevators unless you can do stairs with luggage. Usually only 1 of the 2 elevators is operating, surprisingly both were working on a disembarkation date last year. You will need the parking ticket to raise the gate at the exit. There will be no sign for NJTP via Chosin Few Way, only a street sign. If you pass Costco, you have passed CFW. 440 will take you to NJTP. Right at the traffic light, follow NJTP signs. Chosin Few Way, 440 and Avenue E all lead to the cruise port but using CFW is the fastest & easiest.
  10. I was able to use my vouchers on Adventure, Anthem & Oasis for JR shakes in 2022. Only vanilla ice cream is used regardless of the shake flavor.
  11. Check with Carmel Limo & Dial 7 for costs to transfer to New Jersey. Do not use taxi service.
  12. If it were a weekend, it would be easy to travel to NPS as you plan. I still think it is doable on a weekday but there will be traffic and assuming you walk off self assist at 7 and have car service waiting for you. There is a 10:30 train from Newark Airport station that goes to Boston that you would certainly make.
  13. My first Royal cruise I had a small pocket knife. It was confiscated by security pre check in. When I attempted to board the ship, an alarm went off which I assume had to be associated with finding of the knife as never since has an alarm sounded upon boarding. I was told I could collect the item disembarking. Since I had found the pocket knife years earlier in the street, I did not bother claiming it.
  14. There is no Spring Hill hotel in Bayonne. The only hotel in Bayonne is an hourly rate hotel promoted by someone on this board who presents it as a viable lodging option. Never seen him promote any hourly rate motel in NYC as a low cost option.😗
  15. You are welcome. I have used Trinity as well and will in the future. Last March I used Trinity in Baltimore. The 1 drawback was the hotel shuttle only had 1 drop and 1 pick up time, it was a long wait after disembarking. If I sail out of Baltimore I will select a different hotel Trinity contracts with. If you go with Trinity, inquire what the shuttle service times are.
  16. Arranging car service with either Carmel Limo or Dial 7 would be better than using a taxi. Inquire if the price quoted includes tip and tolls.
  17. $25.00 per day as of December last year. An announcement was made October 2021 that the daily rate would increase to $30 but the rate never increased.
  18. What city? NYC? Cape Liberty is in Bayonne NJ. Coming from Ohio, you will not need to drive into NYC to get to Bayonne.
  19. Expect traffic on a weekday, allow a minimum of 2 hours travel to JFK. TSA recommendation is 2 hours before a domestic flight, you are up to 4 hours. I would still be concerned about traffic, I would book no flight before noon for less stress. Carmel Limo and Dial 7 are recommended car services. Newark Airport, at 10 miles away, is the closest airport to Cape Liberty.
  20. Reasonable, according to a friend who used Renaissance last year.
  21. WWRY and The Gift did not require reservations on both December Anthem cruises I sailed on. Only Spectra's Cabaret required a reservation.
  22. You want the specific hotels on International Drive in Elizabeth NJ. Those hotels are walking distance to restaurants & Jersey Garden mall which also has dining options. Courtyard, Hampton & Residence have locations on International Dr, maybe other hotels too. EWR shuttle service is from P4 station of the monorail (AIrtrain). Check with the hotels if free, should be. In the past fee shuttle service to Cape Liberty was offered, things changed with covid. I believe they have all resumed shuttle service to the cruise port, check first. If you are not comfortable using Uber or Lyft, I am sure the hotel will arrange taxi service if they do not offer paid shuttle service. You could shuttle back to EWR on cruise day and use Royal's shuttle to Cape Liberty. Depending on how many in your group, Dial 7 & Carmel Limo is another option. Disembarking, there will be taxi/shared shuttle service (lot 10) from Cape Liberty to EWR. It was not well organized when I used that service December 2021, though it was prior to that. Ride service pick up location is to the right of the terminal upon exiting, there are hanging numbers to facilitate exact location if you use Uber/Lyft.
  23. Are you looking for hotels in NYC or NJ? Recommended car services from NYC are Carmellimo & Dial 7. If you can handle your bags, there is a public transit option from NYC to Bayonne that will leave you 2 miles from the terminal, which will require taxi/uber to the port.
  24. I have the same problem when sailing inside cabins due to mobility issues. No need to have the love seat removed. Last year on at least 3 cruises, I (or cabin steward) angled the love seat to create ample space on one side for easy access to the bed. The repositioned chair will block some of the mirror.
