  1. We did a fabulous "Twilight Trastevere" food tour that was amazing. I am so sorry that I do not recall what the company was.
  2. As mentioned, no hotel will provide this service. After much research on the Italy board, we booked "private" transfers with a well known company on this board. It was a shared shuttle and worked well. We were picked up at our hotel and then proceeded to pick up other cruisers at their hotels.
  3. Also, keep in mind that it will be very hot, so plan accordingly.
  4. Keep in mind, you are NOT booking TripAdvisor. The website presents tours, the operating companies, and reviews. Be cautious of the ones that you would by Viator. They do not operate tours, they are a brokerage or go between. We have seen other cruisers very upset when those have been cancelled with just a days notice.
  5. In 2018, we booked a shared shuttle and it worked well. The driver went around Rome picking up people at their different hotels. I am sure the company was one of a few which is mentioned on CC all of the time. We did the same from the port to our airport hotel.
  6. A day or two before leaving the ship, you will get a form, complete it, and your steward will turn it in. You will have luggage tags. 10:00 am seems a bit late, but you will be able to find your "category" on the sheet and will select that you are on a Princess transfer. There may or not be more than one time selection.
  7. As @CruiserBruce has stated, I would also recommend a private tour company and not do this on your own. All of the guide we experienced in Rome were fabulous! Debarking times are not in stone... things happen. 9:15 am seems WAY too early. Just because the ship docks then, does not mean you will be able to get off of the ship at that time. We did the Colosseum and the Vatican on two different days. There are tons of suggestions on this board and this is where I learned everything for our cruise in 2018. With Rome as a port/ stop, you will most likely want to return and begin or end with your itinerary in Rome so as to be able to explore for at least 3 days, which is scratching the surface.
  8. In 2018, we took the Princess transfer from the port to the airport (Newark) and it was fine. We also had a late afternoon flight and it seemed like a FOREVER wait. You will be able to sign up for your disembarking time, indicating that you are on a Princess transfer. You will need to indicate your flight time.
  9. As mentioned, the following link/ board will be of great assistance. You can then select the country and your interests. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/472-mediterranean-eastern-western/
  10. Yes, that works out to $59.00 American. The price sure is less than a cab, and I think pretty comfortable for the fee,
  11. Our first Princess cruise was in 2003, on the Golden (MISS THAT SHIP!). This was our second cruise and only had the Celebrity Galaxy to compare it with. We felt much more "at home" on the Golden. We tried HAL (not a good fit) and Celebrity once more. After the Celebrity Reflection....... NOPE! We are not returning to Celebrity..... I could go on and on about that! Snooty, mediocre food, poor service ALL around (except cabin steward), flies on food in buffet (all of the time)............................................................... So, that is why we have been on Princess. I admit it has been a rough re-start since covid, we loved our British Isles itinerary last May, and met great people! However, the covid cloud on the Emerald, changed the atmosphere and energy. I am happy to say that when we were on the Grand last September, it felt like to "old" Princess was back. We have wanted to try Viking Ocean, but with the price and payment factor (must be paid up a year in advance of the cruise), it has not happened. HAPPY SAILING EVERYONE!!!
  12. The medallion is just one small factor. You can choose to use it or not. You may also ask for a cruise card as was used in the past.
  13. Princess sails out of NYC. We have cruised twice from there; the first time was 2003 and the next time was 2018.
  14. Princess has excellent Children's Programs. And Princess offers commentators when cruising glaciers and fjords, as well as nature experts which we have really enjoyed. I do not think they will be missing out on much. Have a great cruise!
  15. This transfer is ON the National Express Coaches, paid to Princess who booked the coaches. We met at Victoria Station and a Princess representative met us there and directed us accordingly.
  16. I imagine that it is $59.00 per person, or maybe a bit less. Last May, it was $59.00 per person from Victoria Station in London to Southampton. You can find out from Princess.
  17. It is only available by the bottle as stated in the menu.
  18. You are incorrect. I have spoken with many reps with the company and as I previously stated, it is not obvious when looking at the plan. I have no idea why. Regence/ Blue Cross is part of a network which provides the International side of the coverage.
  19. I do not think that living in Washington state has anything to do with it. Ours is a "Regence MedAdv+RX Classic PPO plan. This Advantage Plan includes prescriptions and dental. In USA, our co-pays are from $15.00 to $35.00. Internationally, they are $90.00. When we had a Supplemental Plan, that covered a lifetime maximum of $50,000.00 for international coverage- which really is not much. I will say that I our international coverage is not obvious or advertised. I had to call our insurance company to determine this coverage.
  20. It is hardly known... But our Medicare Advantage Plan covers us internationally. It even covers us for a helicopter evacuation from the ship.
  21. You can run to your cabin and call the Dine Line and get on the list. They will contact you if there will be one. I do not think that CC groups can reserve ahead. That would be nice if possible.
  22. Thank you for sharing about the Winemaker's Dinner and Chef's Table. Will you be attending either one?
