Hi @coo359a2! You are on our Roll Call. What time does your flight get in? I would plan on at least 1.5 hours to get out and get to the transfer. It took us close to 2 hours on the bus from Victoria Station to the port (last May). LHR is closer to Southampton than Victoria Station.
If I were you, I would hire a cab service. The companies I know about (through CC), are West Quay Cars, Gunwharf Executive Travel, and Blackberry Cars.
We have only used Blackberry, however, we will most likely use one of the others due to the cost difference.
Odd... We took British Airways from SeaTac to Heathrow in late 2018. We were very impressed how they treated us in Economy! We had tons of food and beverages of any kind at no extra charge.
It really depends where the Americans are from in the USA. When it gets to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, we are in shorts. We live on the west coast about a mile from the ocean, on a peninsula.
I am so glad that we have personally given our stewards a personal gratuity in an envelope on our last day... Especially last September on the Grand. He was so sweet and took such great care of us.
For us.....
The food is much better than Celebrity. And Princess is not SNOOTY!
We do not want hairy leg contests or a Sea World aft. We prefer to have our quiet wake view aft cabin.
Typically, the crew presents great customer service, unlike Celebrity.
Thanks for sharing. We LOVED the Regal in the Fall of 2018. The buffet was the best of any Princess ship we had been on and we very much enjoyed sitting outside (aft) and able to run back inside to grab another snack.
If it is the first night... yes.
Otherwise, I have seen men and women turned away for wearing shorts and/ or flip flops.
And this was on "casual" itineraries like Alaska and the East Coast.
My response pertains to boarding. If you are in a suite, then you are in the "bunch" who boards with handicapped, Elite, Platinum and Suites.
Since covid. we board in a bunch.
We have done this itinerary twice and loved it! We booked private excursions except for Boston, because we went to Salem. Acadia National Park is a must and eating a lobster lunch in town.
We were on the Emerald last May and encountered a cranky crew. This was a FIRST for us as we enjoy Princess. Hopefully, the kinks are worked out.
