  1. A general guideline is to have it not expire until at least 6 months after your trip. If there is an emergency and a flight is needed to fly home, then a person will be glad that they renewed it. There are offices in the country where you can go and have it done the same day.
  2. grouponboardservices@princess.com is exactly who assisted me in arranging two Meet and Greets. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. As @riffatsea has stated, the OP will need some assistance in the planning; or there will be some very upset people.
  3. Yes- I was referring to the person who was upset about what they called "overpaid" pilots, etc. Personally, I think the earn it.
  4. That is not what I have read on the Australia and New Zealand websites. Your link is dated last July. https://www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/international-travel COVID-19 testing From 12:01am on Thursday 5 January 2023, people travelling to Australia from China, including Hong Kong and Macau will be asked to show evidence of a negative pre-departure test for COVID-19. Read more about the COVID-19 testing requirements for travellers from China, Hong Kong and Macau. If you are arriving from other destinations, you do not need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test to meet Australia's travel requirements. Some countries, airlines and vessel operators may require a pre-departure test result at check-in before you can board your flight or ship. Check the entry requirements of the country you are travelling or transiting through, and your airline or vessel operator’s requirements. Visit the Smartraveller website for more information.
  5. It just seems strange that the OP has a "free" party with no details on where and when.
  6. I just did a mock booking on Princess EZAir. You can fly from Billings, Montana to Anchorage. You can then fly from Vancouver, BC to Billings for your trip home. I am sure that Seattle would also be an option for a flight home and not as expensive.
  7. Look at it this way... your life is in the "hands" of the flight crew.
  8. I think flights are available about 9 months out. To the OP, we often book through the cruise line for various reasons, unless it is domestic, then we book with Alaska Airlines. frenchCow: Since it looks like you are flying from Arizona to Vancouver, you may look at domestic flights on your own. You can check out the prices on EZAir (you do not say when your cruise is) and then compare to what you usually like to fly on. We have found that the rates are best when they first are issued, so we book then and we follow them in case they decrease because we can get a reduction with EZAir.
  9. YAY!!! It is about time Princess printed this. What is so funny, is that Australia and New Zealand DO NOT require testing anymore... really Princess?
  10. Actually, I do not think you would have even been able to fly in the day before in this case. My sister lives in S. Cal and they have tons of snow. It is crazy down there. I am glad you were able to get to Long Beach. Do you have travel insurance? Another lesson... Be safe!
  11. I would check into the required vaccinations for entering USA.
  12. OBC can be used to book shore excursions, not really anything else before getting on the ship. However, it may be too early, but you can call Princess for assistance.
  13. Please clarity what you mean by "given a free one hour party". If this is an official Cruise Critic "Meet and Greet" arranged through Princess Guest Services, then they will offer you a location to ensure that this is a private party. The Officers can be invited. I have arranged a few of these through Guest services and we had 10 Officers attend our meeting on the Grand last September. We had a nice turnout.
  14. A small balcony; not much room to share and hang out. R414 or R432 wold be very mid ship and a much larger balcony.
  15. It looks like you are fairly new to Cruise Critic. It is helpful to be detailed in your question. Do not post your name where the question should be. Take a look at a few that are posted and that will help. Also, if you post your questions on the Greenland forum, that will help.
  16. Personally, I do not think it matters much. However, if you want the Riviera deck, just be aware that all of the balconies are quite small except those that are aft and a few angled balconies in the middle of the ship.
  17. Hi @memoak! Off topic... did you get a lot of snow? Our kids both in Happy Valley and Hillsboro have about 12". We have flurries on the beach up here. Be safe!
  18. Last September, we were on the Grand and disembarked in Vancouver, BC. We signed up to self- disembark and were instructed to meet in the Crown Grill with our luggage. This was the earliest group and we walked off about 7:40 am. We were not catching a plane.
  19. Where exactly are you flying from? It should be fairly forward from the east coast. You have New York state under your name. When booking EZAir, you can select how many stops.
  20. Holy cow! That is a very long layover. Are there no other options? You may want to go to the "Cruise Air" discussion forum and ask your questions there.
  21. Can you be more specific? It would be helpful to know your main concerns.
  22. It means nothing. Just be in the green lane and you are fine. Show up and they will direct you anyway. Disabled, Elite and Platinum will board first; and Suite passengers too, I think
  23. OBC can only be used ahead of boarding, for booking shore excursions.
  24. D726 balcony is bigger than E728. But the interior of E728 is bigger than that of D726.
