  1. Just read your posts and as we too were on the cruise I agree it was wonderful. The ship was in great shape, service was very good as usual. We found that some of the trivia sessions were very packed but especially enjoyed music trivia. Both comedians were good. We also enjoyed The CD, Ian’s special talks about pirates and haunted areas of New England. Our Meet and Greet was well attended although it was held in just a roped off area in the Crows Nest.
  2. We are 4 star Mariners so get the 50% discount. Most often we order the most expensive package and at times will have an even better wine not on a pkg exchanged if they have run out.
  3. I would order the chowder and the short ribs. No dessert! Maybe a Bailey’s
  4. Rubyfisch. Again thank you for making the effort to take us along with you on this cruise. We are really excited about our trip the end of the month as we will visit some of these same ports!
  5. Did the open the forward deck upon entering Sydney? Where were they serving the sweet rolls?
  6. Hope you both have a great cruise. I will be following along as we board the ship in 5 weeks and will be in most of these ports.
  7. His name is Samuel Dubois. I learned about him from the New England/Canada port section of cruise critic!
  8. We were in Halifax 11 years ago and did exactly as you. Walked everywhere. I know we went to the citadel and immigration museum I was searching for something new with a guide. Most likely we will end up exploring on our own once again. Thank you anyway for responding.
  9. Are there any tour operators selling tours when we arrive in port? I waited too late and the tour I wanted to book is full. We will be in port October 4.
  10. We toured the site last summer and we had a friend who used a cane.at the start of the tour the guide announced he would point out places for individuals to leave the tour. Midway the guide showed ourfriend a spot to return to the bottom we are o. Our 70’s and the tour wasn’t strenuous at all.
  11. Enjoying your post and jotted down some of the tips others have sent to you. We will be staying in Quebec City 3 days next month prior to a cruise. We have already booked a free walking tour for the first morning to get acclimated. We plan to take the public bus out to the Falls one day as well.
  12. Thank you for taking the time to share this cruise. We are booked on a similar British Isles cruise in May on the Rotterdam. It will stop at many of the same ports.
  13. I just found this post and finished your detailed report. We are considering an Amazon cruise for 2025. We already have 2024 trips all lined up. We have done one Viking river cruise in 2019 but have not sailed on their ocean ships. I will need to do my homework and look at the Iberostar river cruise too.
  14. Our friends had stayed there 3 nights pre cruise and got it arranged. There were probably a dozen others we saw who were also wearing the wristbands and had been on our cruise over Easter!
  15. We were able to get day use at the Intercontinental in Papeete this April. We also had the use of a day room for about half hour to shower and change. I think we paid $80pp and that included lunch.
  16. We have had to make a change to our May 2024 sailing on Rotterdam. We have cancelled the second segment so are only doing the May11-24 cruise. We will no longer be on the ship for my husband’s birthday.
  17. Thank you for creating this handy tool. I too hate going back and forth trying to determine desired cabin!
  18. Great review and I really enjoyed your photos . We will be sailing from Quebec City to Florida the end of September so will probably have similar weather. Looking forward to the cruise on the Zuiderdam.
  19. Good afternoon. We just booked a 21 day voyage on Rotterdam May 11, 2024-June 1, 2024. Britain, Scotland and Ireland and best of Norway. My husband will celebrate his 75th birthday while on the cruise.
  20. We just had Club Orange on the Eurodam last week. We never had to wait for a table in the MDR even with open seating. We had one extra item listed on the menu. I did try the Peruvian chicken and thought it was good.
  21. We disembarked earlier the morning on the 28th after a 4 night getaway from San Diego. We were in a Neptune Suite across from the Neptune Lounge. Our past stays in a NS we’re all aft corner rooms. I must say we really used the Lounge this trip. We were told that over 1,000 persons were boarding for your one night cruise. My siblings had NS cabins next to mine and the room steward opened the balcony so we could have the entire deck space. We had a wonderful trip and my 101 year old mother broke even at the slots and enjoyed her meals. All shops and the casino were closed on the 27th and 28th. There was no BB Kings the last night either. The orange party was well attended and Kings Day was also celebrated. Loved that the captain opened the bow for the sail into Victoria.
