  1. Last month on Nieuw Statendam in Europe the times were 7.30pm and 9.30pm Rotterdam next week (again in Europe) is also showing 7.30pm and 9.30pm
  2. They are waiting outside Santa Lucia Station and sometimes in Pza Roma
  3. Just make certain you are comparing like with like as those UK prices are cruise only (no Have it All). An obstructed verandah for J369A is showing at £1939 (you can select stateroom) and a regular verandah is from £2099 (HAL selects room) and from £2339 if you select. (Just fyi, the current price showing for an obstructed verandah in euros is €2449) I have used UK travel agent (by telephone) and no problems, but I would hesitate to use online only, without the security of someone to call if necessary.
  4. It was not operational in early August.
  5. The TA roll calls are some of the most active on the HAL boards. Just have a look at this years roll calls or next years. Hundred of posts and many people sharing ideas and tours. Welcome to HAL and so glad you have selected your 35th Anniversary Cruise. Congratulations in advance!
  6. In regular staterooms the TV's are attached to a wall bracket in a fixed position and cannot be moved. Staterooms which run lengthwise eg 4045/4046/5048/ all have multi directional brackets and can be viewed from almost any position
  7. It was tongue in cheek. Not being political correct to say "manned". Staff to me is a type of dog! Or a long stick! 😁
  8. Only difficulty that I see is that the muster station person (with scanner) may not be in position until 2pm or after. We have had a couple of cruises in Europe where the muster station was not 'personned' until early afternoon.
  9. Does ordering the Filet & Lobster add to the dining time or do they deliver it quick enough?
  10. Recently on Nieuw Statendam (sister ship of Rotterdam) the Navigator app did offer the opportunity to make a reservation for the MDR, but only after 8pm
  11. Your onboard folio will show it. Either on the stateroom TV or on the Navigator app or indeed you could ask at guest services or concierge would let you know.
  12. International flight or Intercontinental flight? I would be hesitant for international, and very hesitant for intercontinental. Traffic makes it slow to get out of Rotterdam city, but after that it is quick enough on the open road. Probably just less than 1 hour to get to the airport. You can prebook security check time online for Schiphol airport. Try staxi.nl for quote for car service. Last year it was €124,50 incl taxes from Rotterdam cruise port to AMS Schiphol airport.
  13. This article is currently in UK news media. Only 60,000 tonnes and only 987 pax at max capacity, but the town of 2,240 residents was up in arms about it. So, just not the behemoths causing aggravation, but relatively smaller vessels too. Interesting is that the harbour authority was happy to see the ship whereas the residents, in general, were not. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/fowey-cornwall-cruise-ship-port-b2404537.html
  14. Or to quote them: You can't always get what you want! Even if a HAL agent tells you that you can.
  15. Check your mariner account. Last month I placed form in the box and after I got home I realised that I had not received an email. When I checked my account on HAL website, the credits were listed.
  16. Yes. it was $50 for 14 days to upgrade for one device.
  17. If you use the @ symbol and select the poster's name from the drop down menu, you will get their attention. i.e @cruisingfreaks @AnsJMc
  18. Wine is a roll of the dice. Beer is a no no! If bringing wine onboard, even if prepared to pay corkage, I would not risk taking beer at the same time. Lack of training may lead to confiscation of the lot. There is no problem getting two drinks at one time on one card. Or 4 drinks on 2 cards. We (I 😉) have done it numerous times. Mostly we get wine from Lido or rear Sea view bar and specifically ask for the plastic glasses as there is more 'wobble room'. 🙄
  19. 😁 Thank you! DW reckons that I am a cross between a control freak and a tight wad. I like the handle 'planner' better. 😉
  20. The latest information is that it is not possible to upgrade the drinks package onboard, however, if you purchase a drink that is higher than the price limit (currently $11) then you are only charged the difference in price + 18% gratuity.
  21. When did you make the booking? Can you cancel and rebook?
