  1. Depending on the day and time, the traffic on the Rome to Civitavecchis route can be brutal. We've had it both ways.....a "zoom" and a "snails pace". I like mj's take on enjoying that first day on the ship.....best people watching of the entire trip! haha!
  2. Thanks, Pappy! That gives me hope!. Actually Regent shows the date, the ship, etc. on our account, so they must have that info somewhere. As Pcardad mentions, I've thrown it to our TA to sort out with Regent.
  3. We're on the Navigator Amazon cruise in 10 days. It's been waitlisted for ever. A couple of weeks ago, the was a sniglet of opening for guarantees in the stern cabins and one lonely E in the very front of the ship. That disappeared almost instantly. Now it's waitlisted again, across the whole ship. As much as the little Navigator gets bashed regularly (unless you're a devotee, as we are), it still has the best itineraries of any Regent ship, imho.
  4. Does anyone know when Regent started to keep track of previous cruises? We did one with them before they went AI (2005) and although that cruise shows on our account, it doesn't seem to be included in our cruise nights. I don't understand why it wouldn't be, as Regent is the one who has shown it, but only with a dash and no nights credited. Any thoughts on this? Or should we just give up on those lost days...?
  5. Silversea uses it in all staterooms as well.
  6. We’re only in a lowly penthouse however I’m hopeful with the Guerlain. In the past I’ve liked their fragrances. I can deal!
  7. Oh… good to know and will keep in mind! I don’t like the l’occitain shampoo at all . Maybe the Bulgari will be nice. Gosh! Talk about a first world problem! Feeling a little guilty………but not too much! (giggle!)
  8. Mmmmm! Guerlain would be wonderful!
  9. We have never been in a penthouse before. Are the toiletries the same as the lower grade cabins or will there be something different?
  10. No leather here either. Almost platinum but still the plastic/paper ones. This is a cut above Cunard where we have to print, fold and staple, even tho we’ve always done grill class! Be happy with what you got!!
  11. Thanks, all for the quick responses! We are on a waitlist for the excursion, have been for a long time. Maybe, after boarding we'll hear something, otherwise we'll just toss it to our butler and see what happens.
  12. We will be on the Navigator in a penthouse for the first time. Can a butler work on getting a shore excursion that's sold out....or should I hit the destination services desk when we board. It's not until later in the cruise. Can a butler bring caviar on occasion as an afternoon snack. I know it's out there for Sundays, but didn't know if we could request some for in the cabin....
  13. When life gives lemons, lemonade? or perhaps a Margaritta?! Looked like a most wonderful stop!
  14. We just recently did the wine lunch on the Splendor. I don't think you can sign up for this before boarding, but if you know you want to do this for sure, ask for the head sommelier at dinner your first night. They will advise you to when it will be and you'll be put on the list to receive an invitation sent to your cabin with dates, price, etc. Then sign up immediately as it sells out fast! Well worth the cost (in our opinion) and lots of fun!
  15. This was a new one for us and we loved it.....very nice!
  16. I can't speak (yet!) for the Navigator as we're on the Amazon adventure in March too, but we're just off the Splendor. Yes, there was a smattering of masks being worn. Absolutely no issue that I heard of with anyone who chooses to wear one. If you'd like to wear a mask, I think you'll be totally comfortable with that option.
  17. Had to look it up.... Fairmont Monte Carlo....amazing hotel with cliental to match!
  18. While we're at it, Mandarin Oriental in Miami...OMG! The bathrobes....you could've just left me in one of those and I'd be happy for the rest of my life...(giggle!) Monte Carlo Intercontiental (?) not sure of name....famous hotel on the hairpin turn of grand prix fame. Truely the haunt of the rich and famous.....died and gone to heaven! Next up, Coral Gables/Miami Biltmore....will report back!
  19. Maybe we've just been lucky, but we've almost never had a bad hotel. Only one, in Stockholm, years ago would we have considered less than great. Two of the most recent were the Epic in Miami and the Mandarin Oriental, also in Miami. Breakfast has always been more than I could possible eat, fresh and tasty. I'd really like to know what hotel(s) weelee was so unhappy with.
  20. And all that the Bacon duo said, over the past two weeks, goes double for us! Although I'm REALLY late to the party, I just wanted to say that we had a fabulous time on the Splendor these past two weeks. It might've been one of our best cruises! There are really few things that I could mention as less than perfect.... I am, however, concerned about Regent's demographics....We're older, card carrying members of the "Green Bananas Group", but I do think Regent could punch up their appeal to some younger folks... Start with music....not necessarily hard or acid rock, but maybe something a little more upbeat and contemporary. Some venues (bars, maybe just one?) could be more pub-like or less formal and more fun? I realize that Regent's bread and butter is an older crowd, but that "older crowd" (of which we're a part of") isn't going to last forever. We adore Regent but don't want it to go the way of the dinosaur.....
  21. We've only had a butler on a few occasions, but one mistake we did make was to tell our butler that we were "low maintenance". We are, however we rarely saw or had communication with him after that comment. You may very well be low maintenance, but you don't need to mention that at the beginning of your cruise.
  22. Enjoying these posts, as we had a document snafu just recently. We booked a Regent cruise, late for Feb. 8th. However, I was keeping an eye out for delivery from a service (UPS or FedEX). I would so have preferred to have them come to our PO box, but I guess Regent doesn't do that. When I asked our TA about the missing docs, she contacted Regent and they told her they had been sent and delivered. Ah...no. Apparently they were thrown on our porch several days previous, but we live in an old house and use our back door exclusively. Our regular FedEx guy knows this. Long story short.....opened the package to find docs for our late March Amazon cruise. Apparently nothing for Feb. Back to TA....porch pirates for missing docs? Nope. After much head scratching, I went back to the Amazon packet. Lo and behold, stuffed into the Amazon folder were the doc for Feb....not even in a seperate folder. So the moral of this story is, if you have two cruises booked close together and are missing docs, look in the one folder. They may be in there. I told our TA that this is a stupid procedure from Regent....We're now asking for a signature delivery. We had no notice that docs for anything was coming, much less an end of March cruise.
  23. In another NY snafu, it now seems that the powers that be will be using the "Brooklyn Cruise Terminal" to accomodate the latest bus loads of migrants that are being sent to us in NY. I'm not sure how this impacts the Cunard section of that complex, if it does at all. I know at this time of year, it's used minimally , if at all, but what happens when the cruise season is "on"? Does anyone know anything about this?
  24. There is an online cruise agency that lists all available cabins. Unfortunately as per CC rules, I cannot post the web site. If you do a dummy booking with Regent, if there's anything available, they may (or may not) show cabins. Even when cabins are available, they'll only list about 6 cabins per cabin grade. Sorry I can't give you more info.
