We're pretty loyal Carnival passengers. We have started to feel like we need to spread our wings. We've looked into the major cruise lines and we have heard negative things for all of them. I think we have narrowed it down to NCL. For now, we have 2 Carnival cruises booked.

My grandson is skinny enough to hide under the bed 😁
-
The couch doesn't fold out. The back bolsters are removed and the bed is made.

We're not interested in taking him to the spa.

He won't be sleeping between us in bed, he's 16!!! 😆

I Don't Drink Alcohol, Will I Hate Carnival?

I don't really mind kids on the ship unless they are unsupervised which sadly is mostly the case. -
I Don't Drink Alcohol, Will I Hate Carnival?
Butterbean1000 replied to Daruma's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
My grandson is in college in Florida and his spring break starts next week. It's going to be party central for the next couple of months. -
We will be cruising with our son and his family on the Magic. We have a spa balcony, max 2 guests. They have a lido balcony max 4 guests. We were talking about letting our grandson spend a few nights with us. I know they can make up the couch into a bed. My question is because our cabin states 2 guests max, will my grandson be allowed to spend the night?

I have taken a dessert back to the cabin. I just took the dish and a spoon.

We tried loading our e-gift cards on line and they wouldn't go through. We had to call to have them applied. The rep says they have issues with the e-gift cards on line. She said to always check afterwards to make sure they go through.

Carnival Magic Review - Feb 18, 2024 to Feb 24, 2024
Butterbean1000 replied to wgeddings's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Thank you for your review. We daily on her in May. This will be our 2nd time on her. The last time was back in 2018. I've heard she is showing her age. -
I usually go for lunch, so that makes sense. Absolutely, the fresher the food, the better.

Espresso/Chocolate Martini
Butterbean1000 replied to firstprincesscruise's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I love espresso and I love martinis, but not too keen on overly sweet cocktails. How sweet are they and where on the ship makes the best? -
The only time I won't eat fries is if they are cold and soggy.

It seems to me that all of the burgers should be fresh because there is always a line to get them. Every time I go to get one, there's a line.

Carnival "Mahogany Bay" Cruise port in Roatan
Butterbean1000 replied to Eli_6's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We've been to Pirates of the Caribbean twice. It's a pretty intense zip line. On other cruises to Roatan, we just hang around the port or go to the beach there. -
Cruise starts tomorrow, FTTF not sold out
Butterbean1000 replied to tidecat's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
FTTF is 139.99 for our upcoming 7 day cruise. We have no tendered ports. We used to get it when it was 50.00. I can see if you have small kids so you can take your luggage to your cabin, other than that, a waste of money IMO. -
We flew to Miami on the morning of our first cruise from Atlanta. We really didn't know any better. Our flight was around 9am. The weather turned ugly. There were tornado watches for most of the state. Our plane was over 2 hours late leaving. We made it in time, but we learned our lesson. You just never know what could happen. Thankfully the ride to the port was noneventful. We learned our lesson, we always leave a day or two early.

I've been to several piano bars on several ships. We never stay long because we are underwhelmed with the talent. Then you have a bunch of passengers with alchohol fueled singing and well, you know. I am not finding fault with either because people are having fun. It's just not our kind of fun.

Butterbean1000 replied to burnsrod1's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
They have gift cards available all the time. We got a $500 from them a few weeks ago. Our go to for discounted gifts cards is still AARP.
