It will increase the quality of answers if posters indicated ship and date - there are as mentioned by @John Bull several options both in Copenhagen and Stockholm. You’re right - majority of cruise ships dock at Oceankaj - few at Langelinie. Do not know which ship but just checked HAL ships during September - Nieuw Statendam docks at Oceankaj while Rotterdam docks at Langelinie.
-
I'm pretty sure there is no HAL shuttle bus in Copenhagen - there is a public bus from Oceankaj cruise terminal to Orientkaj Metro Station (bus 25 or 164) - from there Metro to the center - total og 30 minutes). Price is DKK 24 for a single ticket - can be bought on the bus for cash or in a kiosk at the bus stop. If mobile phone also in DOT ticket app

Yes, that sounds like a great idea. We did the same. Have you considered contacting your driver and getting his recommendation.

If you ask this question in the Celebrity Forum or Roll Call, others will undoubtedly know the itinerary but in this Forum there are very few people who can answer your question without knowing the itinerary - list the ports off call - alternatively search for the ports in this forum - already a lot information.

As a starting point, in Denmark we have a traffic law that also applies to pedestrians and cyclists. Foreigners do not know / follow the law, which can be dangerous. Foreign cyclists in particular do not follow the traffic law - dangerous situations can arise, but it can also be expensive for the individual cyclist - between €100 - €200. Some examples: driving through a red light, including right turns, - driving against the direction of traffic or using a hand-held mobile costs €130.

You’ll tender to Benoa - I took a taxi from the pier to the beach at Kuta. Is it your first visit to Bali?

Fredrikstand and Farsund, Norway Tours?
hallasm replied to 0106's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
This is actually the first time I've heard of cruises to Fredrikstad (I assume) and Farsund. New and relatively small ports. I have found a few links but I don't think there is much to experience in these ports. https://www.visitfredrikstadhvaler.com/en/fredrikstad-cruise-port/ https://cruise-norway.no/destinations/farsund/ Hope there is someone with more experience with cruises to these ports or Norwegians who know more about the ports or cities.- 1 reply

It is a perfect excursion for someone with walking difficulties. Book a departure so you have plenty of time - check whether it's a tender or dock.Be at the train half an hour before departure. Some ship's excursions involve an additional walking- book a round trip from Flåm to Myrdal at Norways Best. Book well in advance as the trains sell out.

Yes, Copenhagen is quite safe compared to other larger cities, but there are areas where it is not a problem to walk around during the day which may not be completely safe in the evening and night, but it is extremely rare that anything happens to random people passing by. Incidents are predominantly gang-related - very few robberies or attacks on random people.
-
I'm not entirely clear what you're referring to - 'Koran burnings' or 'Christiania shootings' - F16 jets donation to Ukraine??? - not immediately anything that changes safety in general in Copenhagen.

Hurtigruten vs Havila for Norway Coast in winter?
hallasm replied to CruiseMark's topic in Hurtigruten
It is possible to book a shorter part of the journey, for example Bergen to Tromsø. Alternatively Port to Port. Personally, I prefer northbound from Bergen to Kirkenes. I have sailed shorter distances several times, but have the advantage that I only have an hour's flight to Bergen. Summer is great - midnight sun north of Bodø. -
AA might have alternative routes - despite transfer time always a risk of cancellations or long delays. But plan your travel to allow for a 24 hours delay.
-
It is somewhat easier national to international - luggage is checked through and no immigration. Accept the transfer time the ticket allows. If the flight is very late, you simply come on the next flight. Even with Global Entry you luggage might not get to you domestic flight in time.

Hurtigruten vs Havila for Norway Coast in winter?
hallasm replied to CruiseMark's topic in Hurtigruten
Laundry on Hurtigruten and Havila coastal route is self service for a very small fee - do not think it’s free for suites. You cannot compare service provided on expedition ships with the coastal voyage. The ships has washing machines, dryers and equipment so you can iron clothes. Tokens/ detergents can be purchased at reception. -
Yes, Phuket is a tender port - when I was with Celebrity it was to Patong Beach - I think that is still the case. Tendering was quite a long time.

Hurtigruten vs Havila for Norway Coast in winter?
hallasm replied to CruiseMark's topic in Hurtigruten
Exactly the same route, same arrival and departure times for both shipping companies. Hurtigruten has 7 ships of different sizes and ages on the route - the cabins are also very different. Havila has four identical and brand new ships - more standardized cabins. Both have good restaurants where food is served from the areas passed - fresh supplies every day. Hurtigruten has several buffets - Havila doesn't have that. Excursions are pretty much the same too - probably the same suppliers. Havila crews are the former Hurtigruten crews from the four ships Havila replaced. The experience of nature is the same. Personally, I would choose Havila - but look at the price and offer. Hurtigruten is changing their focus towards expedition cruises and are offering Norwegian Coast expedition cruises from Oslo and Bergen. -
Bruges excursion recommendations please
hallasm replied to MagnoliaBlossom's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
Bruges is not Northern Europe - you might get better answers in the British Isles / Western Europe Forum https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/ -
Better at what? Same distance to both airports - Gatwick is smaller than Heathrow.
-
Your luggage will be checked through to Barcelona - you’ll not pick up luggage at CDG. Immigration/passport control only - and possible a security check.
-
The Norwegian fjords offer many opportunities - here is a similar topic

Use the address of the RCCL port agent for your first U.S. port of call - do not believe that the address is that important - you only provide an address when you apply for the ESTA - if you at a later date visit US using the same ESTA you are not asked to update the address.
-
If they are residents in Spain they can take any cruise from Spain within Schengen Area without Visa or ETIAS. Not a problem at all.
-
in practice it is possible - European cabotage laws are less strict than US. - whether the cruise line will let you board in a later port is another matter. On many European cruises, passengers can board at different ports. Contact the cruise line.

Charles DeGaulle Airport- customs and next flight to ship
hallasm replied to chrismch's topic in Cruise Air
If you have both legs og your flight on the same ticket only immigration at CDG - baggage will be checked through to Athens. two hours will be fine if your flight is at schedule - in case of delays you’ll automatically be rescheduled to the next flight. Later arrival but I assume that your are arriving few days before your cruise in case of delays of flights ir luggage. I have been traveling frequently from Us to Europe the last 40 years - have missed flights due to delays bot newer experience problems.
