  1. From which Cruise terminal -Singapore Cruise centre at The Sentosa Harbourfront or Marina Bay Cruise centre.
  2. You can take a one way cruise from Vancouver to Seward and stay post cruise in Seward (might be other options) before returning home. It will not be possible to disembark during an Alaska cruise. An alternative is Norway where you can take the Hurtigruten Coastal Express from Bergen to Kirkenes and make a several days layover at each port - many good fishing opportunities.
  3. Another option is a Vision of The Seas New England Canada cruise.
  4. Yes, various cruise lines have cruises with overnight stays in ports of call. Royal Caribbean has many cruise with overnight stay in a port of call. However must be an itinerary with overnight stay. Here is an example Bermuda and the Bahamas with Mariner of the Seas from/to Port Canaveral (Orlando, FL), departure 01/09/2023
  5. As a starting point, tickets go on sale three months earlier on Norways Best and a standard return ticket is cheaper than on vy.no. Vy.no is better if you need flexibility or a single ticket. There will still be tickets for sale at vy.no when tickets are sold out at Norways Best. (or as a cruise ship excursion).
  6. Oceankaj is a good distance from the city, there are no restaurants here - a taxi or public transport is necessary. Copenhagen is very walkable. Visit the royal palaces Amalienborg and Rosenborg and take a walk in Nyhavn - if there is time take a canal tour from Nyhavn - it takes an hour. In Denmark, we mainly eat 'smørrebrød' (open sandwich) for lunch. What is a nice restaurant is subjectivity but here are some suggestions. I have no experience with gluten-free but assume that restaurants generally has gluten free options. link to restaurant and find location at Google Maps. Restaurant Møntergade, Møntergade 19, Aamanns 1921, Niels Hemmingsens Gade 19-21, Restaurant Schønnemann, Hauser Plads. 16, Atelier September, Kronprinsessegade 62 Restaurant Palægade, Palægade 8
  7. Yes, book yourself - exact same journey - ship tours might include waffles - but very expensive waffles. Book at Norways Best - five to six months in advance.
  8. In my opinion, no difference - check when there are available tickets for the train
  9. Are you sure that your luggage will not been checked through to Copenhagen? If there is the same reservation, you should not pick up luggage and go through customs in CDG - only if two separate reservations - but then there is also a problem if your transatlantic flight is delayed and you lose your connection to CPH. State which airlines and whether it is the same reservation. I have traveled transatlantic to CPH with changes in many different European airports and never experienced that luggage was not checked through to CPH. From a post in OP’s roll call I can see that’s TA carrier is Delta and Air France to CPH - luggage will be transferred through CDG. Not necessary to pick up luggage.
  10. Easy to book yourself - I can recommend an overnight stay in the Flåm / Myrdal area.
  11. Is it a port stop and your first visit to Bergen? In that case, I would recommend seeing Bergen rather than a 'Nutshell' trip. The Nutshell tour consists of different parts - Fjord Cruise Nærøyfjord and the Flåm Railway. First you have to take a bus from Bergen to Gudevangen - from there by Fjordline to Flåm - Flåm line to Myrdal and from here by train back to Bergen. 4 different means of transport and a total of approximately 7 - 8 hours transport plus waiting time between the individual sections - one delay and the ship has left Bergen. If you have the necessary time, it is easy to plan and book the tour - Vy.no for public transport including Flåm Train and Norway Best for the boat tour.
  12. make sure luggage is checked through to LIS. Only Security check in LHR - immigration when you enter the Schengen Area in LIS. Four hours is plenty of time in LHR.
  13. My clear favorite is Royal Caribbean - and the mentioned ships, both Oasis and Quantum Class ships, are my favourites. I'm surprised that RC cruises are only the Western Caribbean/ Bahamas - my favorite is definitely the Eastern or Southern Caribbean. The mentioned ships also sail to the Eastern Caribbean.
  14. Sorry to hear about your horrible experience with your Aarhus tour. Aarhus is a quite a small town and with a little planning it's easy to arrange a visit to the best sights - 'The Old Town' (the restored city) is definitely one of the best sights.
  15. The proposed ban is only the Amsterdam city's main terminal not Ijmuiden port. More information here
  16. A very interesting and detailed review with nice pictures from your day in Flåm. I just want to add a little PS. The Norwegian government has introduced a 'zero emission zone' from 2026 in the UNESCO world heritage fjords and thus prohibits cruise ships from polluting the fjords So from 2026 onwards, only zero-emission cruise ships with electric propulsion are allowed to sail into the famous fjords such as Gairanger fjord or Flåm fjord! There aren't very many of them. It is currently being considered whether to let Bio-LNG ships sail in the fjords until 2030. Many small ships in the Norwegian fjords, including Hurtigruten and Havila, already have electric propulsion (hybrid ships) when they sail in the world heritage fjords.
  17. I have no experience with these itineraries. Cannot tell the difference regarding chances for seeing polar brars. Big difference between Iceland and Svalbard - cannot be compared. Iceland is a Volcano with lava plains while Svalbard is an artic wildernes. Iceland has a temperate maritime climate, with mild winters and cool summers due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. Iceland boasts diverse landscapes, including glaciers, volcanoes, hot springs, waterfalls, and geysers. Iceland is home to various bird species, including puffins and arctic terns, as well as some land mammals like reindeer and foxes. Svalbard experiences a polar climate, characterized by extremely cold temperatures, long winters, and relatively short summers with midnight sun. Svalbard is characterized by its icy Arctic wilderness, comprising glaciers, polar deserts, and stunning fjords. Svalbard's unique wildlife includes polar bears, arctic foxes, reindeer, and numerous seabird colonies.
  18. It will be easier to answer if you included the itinerary for the two cruises. The best chance of seeing polar bears is on Svalbard. Without knowing the itineraries I would think Silversea if Svalbard is included.
  19. Two very, very different cruises. One thing is certain - the Northern Lights trip to northern Norway in October will be cold and perhaps also high seas - here the purpose is to see the Northern Lights and experience the scenery on the coast of Norway. However seeing Northern lights are spectacular. The Greece and eastern part of the Mediterranean can be quite warm and pleasant in October. If the Northern Lights are not very high on the bucket list, I would recommend the Mediterranean combined with a few days in Rome.
  20. Very good point - just few steps from from the platform to your hotel.
  21. Villa Copenhagen is an outstanding hotel - after you have dropped luggage at hotel I suggest lunch Tivoli Food Hall (outside Tivoli Garden - No entrance fee) almost across the street from the hotel - just opposite Copenhagen Central. regarding museums - two very different options - my favorite is the Danish War Museum. At Gimle there is Restaurant the Raven link to menu card. Expect at least 45 for transport from Central Station to Gimle Enjoy Copenhagen and Roskilde.
  22. ETIAS is a planned electronic authorisation system of the European Union for visa-exempt visitors travelling to the Schengen Area (including EFTAcountries), with the exception of the Republic of Ireland, which is part of the Common Travel Area.
  23. Driving on Magerøya in the summer is excellent - not that many options. I think the only car rental is Nordkapp Bilservice. In addition to North Cape, you can visit Gjesvær - if it fits into the schedule, there is an excellent sailing trip to Gjesværstappan nature reserve with Bird Safari. You might get a feeling for the roads. Roads are fine but still snow in June.
  24. Yes, conditions will apply even with a cabin. Please see my comment in post #5 - do not believe you’ll get any answers to your question on CC - not heard about cruisers bringing a dog and locals using Hurtigruten are not active in this forum. Contact Hurtigruten if you want the exact answer - booking@hurtigruten.com
  25. Likely Hurtigruten accept longer voyages but still conditions as mentioned in post #3. Still only at coastal voyage as part of local public transport and for sure not expedition ships.
