  1. It is more likely that it is too early to book - check at a later date.
  2. Honestly not the best itinerary. Olden is the only port in a deep fjord. Other ports are coastal cities. Bergen is a nice city. Måløy is a new destination, and a very tiny city - only option here is probably ship excursions. I have only been in Kristiansand for business - in my opinion not that attractive. There is a topic in Northern Europe forum
  3. In principle, there are two options - a visit to the North Cape Monument and the Hall or a boat trip to the Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve. I would choose North Cape on the first visit, but if you are interested in birds and nature, the nature reserve is an obvious option. Still snow and cold in June and then enjoy the Midnight Sun.
  4. in particular, you must check about 1 month before your trip whether ETIAS is required when entering Schengen.
  5. An option is to take a taxi to Orientkaj Metro station and the Metro to ‘Kongens Nytorv’. There might also be a free shuttle bus from cruise terminal to Orientkaj- at the metro station you can pay with credit card in the ticket vending machines - but there might be a queue. The DOT ticket app is a better solution if you have free data roaming. Canal tour is an excellent way to explore the city - also visit the Royal Palace (Amalienborg), Nyhavn and Rosenberg Slot.
  6. I did submit my post before fully answered. Sure only passport control before entering the flight to YYZ in AMS - No customs in AMS.
  7. No - there will be no custom or immigration check when traveling within the Schengen Area. (I did submit my previous post before it was finished)
  8. No problems - 2 hr 35 m is enough time in Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. Passport control when you leave Schengen area in Amsterdam airport. No customs - in FCO your luggage will be checked through to YYZ. just note the time to get from Civitavecchia cruise port to FCO. note: check if ETIAS will be required for entry into Schengen area by November 2023 - the system is expected to be fully operational in November 2023.
  9. I have done similar cruises - not a usual itinerary - might help if you post the itinerary and number of days. I believe there must be quite many sea days in addition to the Suez Canal transit- some people enjoy sea days - others don't. Also flying into Mumbai and pre-cruise stay in Mumbai might be a challenge if you haven't travelled in India before. Make sure to fly into Mumbai at least two days before the cruise - if flight or luggage delayed for technical or other reasons you might miss your cruise - the ship wont wait.
  10. walking is not an option - either a taxi (available at terminal) or public transport. Topic is frequently discussed in this topic or other topics in this forum.
  11. Just note that there might be too much snow for biking in May. Bike rental in Myrdal is possible from June 1 to September 30
  12. All cruise turnarounds are from Oceankaj. July 12 Nieuw Statendam will be at quay c333 (terminal 3) - July 2 it will is at terminal 1.
  13. The Copenhagen Marriott is located by the harbor a little outside the city centre. It is absolutely possible to take the train and walk from Hovedbanegården (Copenhagen Central) - 10 minutes walk - 650m (0.4 miles). It’s a 10 to 30 minutes walk to most attractions - for example 25 minutes along the harbor promenade to Nyhavn - 2 km (1.2 miles).
  14. it is actually not that cold in Alta in March. The average temperature in Alta in March for a typical day ranges from a high of 35˚F (2˚C) to a low of 13°F (-10°C). But looking for the northern lights is a stationary and prolonged stay under the open night sky. On open ship decks it can also feel much colder due to wind. Best way to dress for the cold is dress in layers. Use many thin, warm layers rather than a few thick layers. It will insulate better and allow you to strip off layers if the temperature rise. Also remember to wear more than one layer on your legs. Use water proof and insulated boots and wear warm socks. Wool is best, alternatively good synthetic fleece socks. You can also layer socks. Personally, I don't like shoe grips. In snow and ice, I use hiking boots with a good grip. Use a good quality coat, parka, or jacket. For the coat, the thicker the better,. Can either be synthetic jacket, a wool pea coat, or a down jacket. A warm hat is a must as well as comfortable, warm gloves or mittens. Fingers and hands are very vulnerable to the cold, so keep them covered. If necessary, use a scarf to cover the face.
  15. No. Might be a reposition cruise but not likely. best options for Norwegian fjord in combination with a Mediterranean cruise is still from Southampton
  16. There are not that many Mediterranean cruises from Amsterdam. You will have a greater chance from, for example, Southampton.
  17. Yes, late May and beginning of June is a good time - snow in the mountains and water in the rivers.
  18. Correct. You can see the waterfall from the ship - to the left just before you arrive into Geiranger or to the right just after setting sail from Geiranger. The whole sailing through the fjords into Geiranger takes 5 to 6 hours - I would suggest you are up at sunrise to enjoy sailing into the deep fjord. Same route in the evening but often there is dinner and many activities. Sunrise 04:15 am and sunset 10:45 pm. Entry into Geiranger just at the start of my video and departure at 2m8sec
  19. Definitely spring flowers in southern Norway but there is still snow in Honningsvåg. Hope your cruise is calling Honningsvåg after May 14 so you experience the midnight sun.
  20. Vueling is a Spanish low-cost airline that operates flights to a variety of destinations in Europe. I’m using Vueling from CPH to AGP. Definitely an option for good value for money. You just have to ensure that you are booked with the necessary luggage.
  21. Oslo is the capital and largest city of Norway. As such, it has a wealth of cultural attractions and things to see and do. Some must-see places in Oslo include the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Munch Museum, the Nobel Peace Center, and the Royal Palace. Other popular attractions include the Opera House, the City Hall, and Aker Brygge, a waterfront area with shops, restaurants, and bars. If you have time, you could also visit the Botanical Garden.
