  1. Hurtigruten and various TAs have different offers - often with flights included in the price. My experience is also that there can be a large price difference for the same journey on different Hurtigruten web pages (.no, .com, .au, .co.uk and more). Check the price on the various websites - you can either book the cheapest or challenge the local office and try to get the journey for the same price. Havila is still in the start-up phase and has just with a two-year delay put all four of their ships into operation. All Havila ships are new and my experience is that prices are generally lower than Hurtigruten. The route and timetable are exactly the same for the two companies. Havila crews come from Hurtigruten so they are familiar with the conditions along the coast. In general, it is always a good idea to shop around and compare prices from different travel agents before booking a cruise. Have fun comparing prices.
  2. You can purchase three tickets in the app and just show your phone when entering the bus. At the metro you just need to show if asked if inspection Install the app and prepare for purchase. See picture. There might be taxis available - alternatively call - also here you can use an app.
  3. I have no information about the free shuttle bus from Oceankaj to Orientkaj outside the normal cruise season. Bus 164 departs every 20 minutes from the stop close to terminal 1 towards Orientkaj Metro Station - metro line M4 to the centre. (Timetable for Bus 164) There is a kiosk opposite terminal 1 but I doubt it is open. The only option besides Danish kroner in cash is the DOT Ticket app if you have data roaming on your phone in Denmark. Price is DKK 24 (2 zones) for a single ticket - ticket applies to both bus and metro. DOT Ticket App Enjoy the Christmas markets in Copenhagen. Free Christmas markets at ‘Kongens Nytorv’, ‘Højbro Plads’ and at ‘Nytorv’ (H.C.Andersen Christmas Market). And then of course in Tivoli - Entrance fee: DKK 145
  4. There are many factors to consider when trying to determine the best cruise line, such as the destination, the type of ship, the onboard amenities, and the quality of the service. Some of the top cruise lines has already been mentioned in posts above, but ultimately the best cruise line for you will depend on your personal preferences and budget. It's a good idea to research several different cruise lines and read reviews from other travelers to help you make an informed decision. Cruise Critic is a helpful resource when planning your cruise, as it provides a wealth of information and reviews from other travelers.
  5. Which ships is it? MS OTTO SVERDRUP calls at both Cruise Center Altona, Baakenhöft or Steinwerder. As mentioned in previous post you should be able to find information here at cruisegate-hamburg.de
  6. Sorry - FLL - didn’t check my spelling before posting.
  7. I have done am flights out of FFL several times - 11:15am should not be a problem.
  8. I do prefer Norwegian fjord cruises I June. Descent weather - might be rain or cold days - probably not very different from weather in Scotland - can also be cold when cruising the fjord early morning or late evening. Olden is located in a deep fjord - tiny city. Suggest excursion to Loen Skylift it Briksdal Glacier. Bergen, Ålesund and Stavanger are Coastal cities. You can easily explorer Bergen and Ålesund on your own. in Stavanger possible excursion to Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock.
  9. Traveling to Singapore without the necessary travel insurance with full cover for Illness, hospitalisation, treatment, transport home, assault and trip interruption is risky and can, if the accident happens, be very expensive. Insurance conditions and coverage work differently in different countries. It is important that your travel companion is either covered by your insurance or has their own insurance. Since I suspect that there is also a cruise, the insurance must of course also cover this. Some Cruise lines also has specific requirements for insurance coverage - this is from P&O cruises Terms and Conditions “When travelling with us, your insurance must include medical cover of £2 million minimum and cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to COVID-19”
  10. I assume that everyone who travels has travel insurance that covers illness, hospitalization and transport home. An amount of USD 30K is in this context a very low amount. I'm sure it will be covered by all travel insurances.
  11. MUC is probably the best airport in Europe for a transfer - not that big and vey efficient. But if your flight is three hours late again you’ll miss your connection anyway.
  12. These are three good suggestions but I would definitely suggest renting a car - car rental in Iceland is expensive though - but so are excursions. There are good roads in Iceland and very easy to navigate. Note, however, that rental cars are not allowed to drive on all roads, but for the areas you mention it is not a problem.

    Banking

Have you received an invoice from Hurtigruten? If the IBAN NUMBER or SWIFT codes are correct, there is no risk - I have IBAN: N093 5082 05 12100 and SWIFT: DNBANOKK on my invoice from a few years ago. Personally, I prefer to pay by credit card. Ask Hurtigruten to send a link to credit card payment.
  14. Need to know from where to answer your question. I would drive to Gedser and then take the ferry from Gedser to Warnemünde. I’m living ‘somewhere near to that cruise port’ - might not work for you. Train from Berlin will be an obvious choice. Depends!
  15. Very good chances for Northern lights. Next year will have very high intensity Solar Storms. The cruise has overnight stays in Tromsø and Narvik. Out of season in Norway so very likely only ship excursions available - short days are as such not a limiting factor. Just be prepared for cold weather- being outside watching the lights can be very cold.
  16. Your signature can be edited at this link https://boards.cruisecritic.com/settings/signature/
  17. Is it more necessary to drink alcohol if the weather is cold? I don't understand the relationship between outdoor temperature and alcohol package.
  18. Not sure if it will be legal - at least not from an European perspective. I tried to initiate a booking at their .no site - possible to choose any country from a drop down list - currently booking from all countries is possible - only problem is the web page innNorwegian language - booking site is the same for all different languages.
  19. Just make sure to read terms and conditions (use Google translate) - primarily regarding deposit and cancellation policy - if you purchase your voyage at the Norwegian web Norwegian terms and conditions will apply.
  20. You can purchase your voyage in NOK at the Hurtigruten Norwegian web - alternatively challenge your local sales office and ask for the same price.
  21. I have several times visited St. John in connection with cruises. You basically have three options. Rent a car and take the boat from Red Hook to Cruz Bay, take the boat from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay or an excursion by your Cruise ship. If you arrange it yourself, there are many opportunities to take a trip through the national park with local tour guides from Cruz Bay. If you rent a car yourself, be aware that in the USVI you drive on the left side.- can be a challenge. Even if you arrange it yourself, there is a risk of delays and that you will not get back to the ship before it has sailed. It doesn't wait so it can get expensive. My advice is to take an excursion with the ship - I think all cruise lines have an excursion to St. John on the program.
  22. difficult to rank - see my comments - some interesting and less interesting ports of call. Month might also be a factor. May might be too early - June has snow in the mountains and water in the rivers. Cruise 1: Hellesylt -deep scenic fjord - small port - used for excursions to Geiranger Alesund - very nice small coastal city Olden - deep scenic fjord - small town / excursions to glacier end view point Kiel (Germany) Cruise 2: Haugesund - not that interesting Flaam - deep scenic fjord and the railway Olden - deep scenic fjord - small town / excursions to glacier end view point Kristiansand - not that interesting Cruise 3: Oslofjord in to Oslo - interesting city Stavanger - coastal city - excursions to Lysefjord and Pulpit rock Sogneford in to Flaam - deep scenic fjord and the railway
  23. in the deep Norwegian fjords the size of the ship is of no importance - the ports you have listed can be called by all cruise ships sailing the Norwegian fjords. Hadangerfjord in/out to Eidfjord - Geirangerfjord in/out to Geiranger - Sognefjord in/out to Flåm - are three deep scenic fjords. Oslo fjord are not as scenic, however Oslo an interesting city. Bergen and Stavanger are good coastal ports. Kristiansand is the least interesting port at your list.
