  1. Tours specific for cruise ship exist - you might also find private tour offers. Have you tried to reach out at your fill call.
  2. New ships until 2026 - the following 5 years ships with Bio-gas (LBG) will be allowed. I assume that cruise ships built for LNG can also use LBG. After 2030 only electric propulsion - then we'll see how many electric cruise ships exist by then. Hurtigruten and Havila today have hybrid ships that can sail the fjords electrically - Hurtigruten plans to deploy purely electric powered ships by 2030.
  3. The Norwegian Parliament has adopted a resolution to halt emissions from cruise ships and ferries in the Norwegian world heritage fjords as soon as technically possible and no later than 2026. Until 2026, it is still possible to sail in the fjord with ships with engines installed after 1 January 2016. However, there is a proposal to allow the use of biogas under certain circumstances for a transitional period of 5 years so that new cruise ships powered by biogas can still sail the fjords until 2030. The Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) has submitted a proposal for a regulation on vessel emissions in World Heritage fjords by 1 January 2026 – and ships of 10,000 GT and upwards will be permitted to use biogas for a five-year period as part of a transitional arrangement.
  4. All in all a decent itinerary. Eidfjorden may not be the most interesting place to visit, but a nice sailing through the Hardangerfjord. Geiranger is one of the best destinations with beautiful viewpoints and a scenic deep fjord. Ålesund and Bergen are definitely two good cities to visit. Bergen has many interesting sights. Also mid Kune is a good time for Norwegian fjords - still snow in the mountains and water in the rivers. In particular the Seven Sisters waterfall just before arrival into Geiranger.
  5. Some suggestions Gateway of India - the welcome portal to the Port of Mumbai. Right next is the great Taj Mahal Hotel. Church Gate Station, a busy hub in south Mumbai and the ‘dabbawallahs’ who brings lunch out from home for jobs. Mahalaxmi with Dhobi Ghat (translated: place where the clothes are washed) - which is Mumbai's largest “washing machine” and Mani Bhavan which was Mahatma Gandhi's headquarters.
  6. I’ll think you’re schedule is fine. Loen Skylift has room for 35 passengers in each carriage, The trip takes 5-7 minutes. Departure every half hour, but more often in case of heavy traffic.
  7. For most ports there is a list of arrivals and departures - the list for Olden 2023 is not yet available but can be found at this link In 2022 Iona was docked from 9am to 6pm.
  8. Most toilets in Copenhagen are free - I know that there is a fee at Railway Stations (DKK 5) and possible to pay with credit card. I have never paid for use of public toilet in Copenhagen- save your coins. NB: I’m living outside Copenhagen and is visiting two to three times each month.
  9. Northern lights all year round - however only visible when sky is dark - best from September through March. Yes, Winter 2024/2025 will be a good time for Aurora Borealis.
  10. No immigration checks in Norwegian ports for Cruise Lines
  11. Yes, absolutely nothing to do in Myrdal. An alternative is a one way to Myrdal and bike back to Flåm. The 2nd excursion to Stegastein is an excellent idea.
  12. Yes, Ålesund is on the coast - sailing in/out takes about an hour. Skjolden is located at the bottom of a long deep fjord - here you must be on the upper decks at sunrise at 4:30 am - also sunset at 10:30 pm is a good time. The fjord into Olden is not that long - be at the upper deck two hours before arrival. Same route in and out of the fjords. Just note that 17 May is the Norwegian Constitution Day. It is an official holiday that is celebrated with parades - Loen Skylift might be busy that day - open from 9 am to 10 pm.

  14. This is not ‘the Dewa’ mentioned in this forum. Different provider. Dewa is a very, very common name in Bali.
  15. Dewa contact information - I used him as guide in 2019. Excellent guide. WhatsApp: +6285238493089 Email: dgrock1140@ yahoo .com (Remove Spaces) You can also find more details and inspiration in this topic.
  16. My vote goes to early June. Still snow in the mountains and a lot of water in rivers and waterfalls.

  18. Vancouver is Canada - you need the eTA to enter Canada. I assume your first entry to US is a port in Alaska - when cruising I’m using the address of the cruise line port agent for the first entry into US.
  19. On vy.no, tickets can be purchased at the earliest 120 days before travel. 'Norway's Best' has tickets available earlier as mentioned in post #3.
  20. Just for information, here is a video of the lifeboat tender operation.
  21. Here is a short video from my Bar Harbor tendering
  22. Might be better to post your question in the Western Europe Board or the P&O Cruises board
  23. Yes, purchase a DOT ‘City Pass Small’ - you need to have data roaming on your phone (or an EU Sim-card). Note that the 24 hour period starts immediately after purchase in the app.
  24. There is no information yet on the free shuttle bus for 2023 - but for terminal 3 it will be a better option from the Orientkaj metro than public buses 25 or 164, which stop at terminal 1. A single day tricket will be the best option for public transport (DKK 24) - purchase at ticket vending machine or the DOT App. A taxi from the city to Oceankaj is approx. DKK 250 - depends on day of the week and time - use Viggo App - https://www.viggo.com. Remember that prices in Denmark include tips.
  25. It takes 15 minutes by train from Copenhagen Central to the airport, so one option is of course a hotel in Copenhagen close to the station. Hotel Copenhagen Villa is also an option close to the station. It makes it a little simpler if you want to spend the day/evening in Copenhagen. There is also a Metro directly from Kongens Nytorv to the airport (20 minutes). At the airport there are two hotels (both Nordic Choice Hotels) - Clarion which is the former Hilton and Comfort which is a brand new hotel - smaller and sparser rooms. I myself use the Comfort Hotel when I have an early flight out of the airport.
