We do not ever get the HIA plan because we do not thing it is worth the money . We are not drinkers .The lemon aid & ice tea & coffee suits us just fine & we gladly pay our gratuities as billed . so why do you but that HIA plan ?

About the Speciality Restaurants on koningsdam .We had lunch on a sea cay in Pinnacle & was excellent .Tamarind did not disappoint & as good as it has ever been .Canaletto was fabulous 😃😀😃

We sailed 12 days on Koningsdam from Dec 5th to 12th 2022 .We experienced horrendous lines waiting to get seated in the MDR .We had any time dining so we just showed up & were seated but the lines should not have been that way .This was caused by understaffing for 2500 plus pax Food in the MDR Breakfasts were great , dinners not so great .I asked that the LaSanga be taken off the menu because it was awful .nothing even close to Italian Lasanga . Found out that the Exec Chef was Indian . Not that that should matter but ,in this case it was really bad. We also waited 2 hours to complete a meal until I complained ,then it sped ip The Lido food was better than expected imo ,the Dice in was great as always & the NY Pizza & Deli sandwhiches needed help

Stop complaining & the cruise line will continue to levy more & more chargess & changes . This is the only real tool the pax have in their tool bag ,

There is only one scooter that folds .It weighs like 48 lbs . This is the problem with tender ports for the handicapped . Cabo should have a deep sea port .Perhaps one day in the future

My idea of style in todays world is a very nice Hawaiian shirt with collar dark slacks & dark shoes with my sweater of course for those chilly inside temperatures .No more jackets or ties .Gave not worn wither of those in many years ^ never a problem

If a cruise is not sold out & you can wait yo after final payment you may score a better deal than these advertised deals from HAL

HAL just announced longer cruises as their itineraries are known for those .There will still be the 7 to 10 night cruises but more longer cruise itineraries . Celebrity is a good line however for us they rarely sail west coast waters where HAL is in our local SD port often

Club Orange is great includes cabin upgrade ,priority tender ,priority boarding ,a added entre over the MDR menu for dinner in a smaller restaurant & their own chef .Fresh squeezed OJ in the morning ij the special restaurant ,special line for customer relations , priority boarding & disembarkment .cost is $15 per day per pax

From time to time we sail X when they are available to the LA area cruise terminal .We no longer fly las we are in our 80s .If we ca';t cruise from the San Pedro terminal or San Diego terminal ,we don't cruise Celebrity has much better shows & individual performers , holland on it;s pinnacle ships has music walk with a Rolling Rock band & VV Kings blues music & they have dueling pianos in billboard onboard which are really good ,HAL also brings on comedians who are mostly funny what we like more about HAL now is the convenience of sailing with them from our local SD port . If X is sailing from Sam Pedro we will drive up to take their cruises

We are Eliite Plus with X & 3 Star Mariners with Holland America . We are finding that both food & service quality is about the same ;however Holland America cruise prices are lower for similar itineraries . In fact Holland just announced that they plan longer type cruises not that are discontinuing the short cruises . The only edge I would give Celebrity is in the main showroom entertainment venues which are far better because HAL is doing less & less show type they have dancers only & some BBC films ,occasionally guest speakers on Pinnacle class ,their newer ships . We rarely sail now with RCL & we are Diamond there because they do not offer what X or HAL offers us ;as senior citizens

Simple solution to Xs cut backs is less cruises booked . If people would not book with X then the prices would drop & the marketing enticements would increase . If they can get away with all these cit backs & still fill ships what is their incentive to change ?

It is strange how Blue Chip makes offers . We still haven't figured out their system .The last deal we got wasn't free cabin but 3 free ppd gratuities ,classic drink package & wifi all free .Still that is a lot of savings .We do these 2 cruises B2B in March on Soltice . I do Fun slot Pulls & Fun Craps rolls for cruise critic members . We do them at b=night because better chance of wining in the slots . The Fun Craps rolls are based only on pass line ,behind pass line odds & the back line numbers only . all i need is a lucky roller & we make a good pay day

We can see the short cruises like 7 to 14 days having the Rolling Rock & BBKings . Perhaps this is HAL management thinking as well . They should also bring back more dance type music for those of us who like to dance

Amazing HAL just released that in the future longer cruises are planed for this cruise line .Well then why are they so inclined to loud music because the longer cruises attract the older crowds who not only have the time but the money to afford such longer cruises

Nope non to my knowledge . Why does HAL charge for a fridge in these cacin classes ? imo self defeating as they will sell less alcohol

That is what is great about Club Orange on Pinnacle class ships of the HAL fleet ,the upgraded restaurant , priority tenders ,priority check in ,,a special line for customer relations on board & mostly the cabin upgrade ,We can book into a VH handicap & get a V category Handicap cabin , We book early when the cruises first come out to get that extra on board credit . Yo us there is real value in club Orange but yes just on Pinnacle class ships
