  1. I would use my TA's search and just plug in the month and the embarkation port for the second cruise. That shows me all the ships sailing out of that port and I can then look and see what is available and I can decide if I am happy with what ships leave that day or if I want to spend a day or 2 in that city for a cruise that I like better.
  2. Why would it be wrong?? I love Back to Back cruises! And you and your cabin mate will each have 2 bags of free laundry. This is especially handy when you are cruising B2B.
  3. I have found when the purchase was made with OBC, that it may take a couple minutes or a couple days to see the credit back on your reservation. Credit card is a couple days. If I want to use the OBC for another purchase, I have called Celebrity and they refunded it right then.
  4. If you actually upgraded (called and paid the current price for the suite) you will get all the retreat amenities. If you made a successful move up bid, you will get the retreat, but only the drink and WiFi packages that you had with your original cabin. Also if you upgraded, you will get the CC points for a suite. If you did a move up bid, you will only get the points of your previous cabin. We liked the Magic Carpet room that we had. It was a similar location on the Edge. Liked that we had forward view from the balcony.
  5. I agree that you probably want to change your room to an accessible room. They are slightly larger than the other sky suites and have a larger bathroom that is more like a wet room. My first suite was a guarantee and we were assigned an accessible room. My husband did not like it because he would have preferred the tub/shower combo. I could see that it would be nice for someone who needed it.
  6. Hummmm, I hate to tell you to call because you could get a gazillion different answers. But, I think that is your best option. I am assuming. you did not used a travel agent?
  7. Looks like this is another FAQ that has not been updated since they began allowing Zenith back in the Retreat.
  8. Here is what it says on the website under Zenith Benefits. Looks like another case where Celebrity has not updated its FAQs. Are we surprised?
  9. This is what the emails says above the graph that was posted. Looks like Celebrity has not yet updated its FAQs
  10. A couple weeks ago, I cancelled a cruise that I booked with "Book Later" certificate and a Non-refundable deposit. At the same time, I booked a completely different cruise and I was able to transfer the certificate to the new booking. I had to pay the $100.00 transfer fee, but I still got the onboard credit. I had purchased the certificate more than a year ago, maybe even a year and a half. In the interest of full disclosure, I do use a travel agent. I asked him to check for me. He handled it for me and I am not completely sure how he went about it.
  11. I have sailed several times on HAL, always Eurodam. I think you will enjoy Celebrity. S class are most like Eurodam. I haven't sailed on the M class lately but do have one booked for next year. I think they would be pretty comparable to smaller HAL ships. E class is completely different. I think Celebrity wins over HAL in the area of specialty restaurants. I think you will miss the live music on HAL (dueling pianos and classical music). While the crew on HAL were excellent, I thought that they tended to treat the passengers as if they (the passengers) were not quite as mentally sharp as they used to be. Celebrity tends to have younger vibe than HAL. The Suite Class on HAL and Celebrity are 2 entirely different things. HAL's drink packages are limited. Celebrity's are not. Celebrity does not have good places to play board games or cards. There are no jigsaw puzzles on Celebrity. (At least I have never seen any on over 30 cruises). These are my opinions. I realize they are subjective.
  12. It is still refundable. however, when you received the credit back to your card, additional points are deducted. Example: you use 10,000 points to get $100 OBC. You only use $10. $90 is returned to your account and 180 points are deducted from your point total..
  13. I would recommend a suite if you can handle the price. They have areas that are less crowded that you can "retreat" to.
  14. I have found that even if you have the same TA, you might have different group rates. If this is the case, you often cannot link the reservations. Only when making dining reservations, is this important because they need to know the size of the table that you will need. Have everyone make their own reservations at the same time and place. Then when you board the ship, simply go to the Maitre D of that restaurant and let them know what reservations want to sit together.
  15. I recently upgraded from a concierge to a suite after final payment. no problem. I was using a travel agent. Not sure if that makes a difference.
  16. We, too, were able to keep our wine with us. I think they are more lenient in certain countries and if the cruise is specifically labeled as "Wine Cruise." Not that Celebrity is known for it's logical reasoning, but if you think about it, if you have a drink package, any wine of your own that you drink is wine they don't have to pay for. Also, if you have a drink package, you do not have to pay a corkage fee.
  17. On sea days they serve breakfast in one of the main dining rooms. Not sure where they would serve a sit-down breakfast on port days. Just got off the Edge a week ago after being onboard for 39 days. We enjoyed Rooftop Garden Grille. The service was great and the food was great. We also enjoyed Fine Cut. We were impressed by neither the menu nor the service in Eden. Hopefully your experience will be better. We did meet a gentleman by the name of Daniel whose job was to rotate through the restaurants and troubleshoot any areas needing improvement. He had just rotated through RGG and Fine Cut. I am thinking he was going to Eden next or shortly, so hopefully you will have a wonderful experience.
  18. I have taken the seaplane to Dry Tortugas and loved it. I think you should be fine with getting to the airport by 10:00 as the ship is docked, not tendered. I recommend talking with your tour broker. Tell them your concerns and ask for any tips regarding getting to the airport and if they have any flexibility if you should be a little late for take off. I would definitely do the 10am flight rather than noon. because the ferries arrive later in the morning, with the 10am flight, not as many ferries will have brought people to the area. By noon it will be more crowded.
  19. I booked a guarantee once when no cabins were showing available and I was assigned a suite. (The next up category that was showing available). Maybe. . . These days, someone will do a move up bid and you will be assigned their cabin.
  20. We recently switched cabins with friends of ours who were traveling on a B2B with us. We added another B to our cruises, they did not. Their cabin was available for the 3rd cruise, so we switched for the first 2 so that we did not need to change rooms after the second cruise. (Does that make sense)? I called our travel agent and he called Celebrity and switched. Easy-peasy, at least for us. I recommend finding out what the bed placement is, and if necessary call your TA or Celebrity, if you booked direct, and have it switched before you cruise. It's easier that way. If your cruise docs are already available, you will need to ask to have them updated so that your luggage tags are correct. If you all are traveling to the port together, this is not as important because you can each print out luggage tags and just swap.
  21. Thoughts on need to to check in for consecutive cruises in Sydney? Yes? No? Maybe? What has your recent experience been?
  22. Jelayne, have you been on a cruise specifically labeled by Celebrity as a Wine Cruise and not been allowed to keep wine purchased on a shore excursion? I am on such a cruise in Australia and agree with NMTraveller that the wine available onboard recently is poor.
  23. I have searched the boards and can't find what I am looking for. I seem to recall that Celebrity sometimes allows passengers to keep wine with them that they purchased on shore excursions when the cruise was an official wine cruise. Am I imaging this? Those of you who have been on wine cruises, what has your experience been?
  24. Just a note for those of you who like to start a vacation day with a libation: Coffee Hour is also morning cocktail hour. 🤣
