  1. This is one of the reasons we’ve never tried RC.
  2. You know, all this research must be making you quite thirsty. Wouldn’t you just love to take a break around 5:00 to head the the WCB to have an Azteca for me?😋🤣
  3. I agree that it's worth voting with our feet, but the reality is that allowing vaping (or smoking) in the casinos doesn't affect only those of us who spend in the casinos. Remember what it was like to walk by the casino toward the shops or the theater when smoking was still allowed in the casino? It was nasty, and anyone who thinks vaping has no emissions is deluded. I've had to walk away from my nephews when they were vaping outside because their flavored vapes caused me to have a coughing fit!
  4. True. The “test data” will also be skewed because there hasn’t been time for vapers to learn about the change and book cruises on the test ships. Non-vapers who report “minimal or no effect “ this month won’t have experienced a casino containing a large group (say 50%) of vapers. The flavored vapes are especially noxious.
  5. I agree. And I hope they don’t check my casino spending before deciding whether to count my feedback or bin it! Swimming amongst the casino whales and sharks, I suspect I’m a wrasse😂
  6. I sent an email to the executive office this evening. We’ll see if I receive the same ridiculous response that @Ellaleah received.
  7. No longer any point to booking a suite onboard then.
  8. Yes, we had two bookings on Beyond, one of which we were able to transfer. We transferred our Beyond Transatlantic booking to the Ascent Transatlantic. We had to pay prevailing rates, which cost us $700 additional fare. This was partly offset by $400 additional OBC, $200 of which was a portion of the OBC offered under the current booking promotion. The other $200 was the transfer incentive offered for suites. We were not able to find an acceptable option for transfer of our second Beyond booking, so we won’t receive a $200 transfer incentive for that cruise. Instead, since Celebrity cancelled the cruise, they will refund our NRF deposit (which happens to be $200 because we booked on board) to my credit card. Sorry for the confusion. I should have broken down the $400 more clearly in my previous post. Thank you for your kind words. I’m sure we will have a wonderful celebration! Regardless of the inevitable changes and glitches we encounter while traveling, we’re happy to to be on the journey together😎😎
  9. Quite so. And most people on this forum don’t seem to understand that those of us booked on Beyond for the 2024 Transatlantic and European cruises were not even offered the option of keeping our reserved cabins/prices for any of the new cruises in the Caribbean. We had a b2b booked for the spring TA and the Greek Isles/Turkey, and had intended to spend a few days in Rome afterward. This was our third attempt at celebrating a special anniversary. We had splashed out on a Sky Suite for both legs, which is not something we always do. We ultimately decided to transfer the Transatlantic leg to Ascent, and snagged the same Sky Suite. We’re excited about sailing on Ascent, but we were unable to find a good transfer option for our second booking. Had Celebrity not restricted us to four ships, we would have considered Infinity for Greece & Turkey. Having been forced to transfer at prevailing rates, we’re paying $700 more for a 13 night TA than we would have paid for the 14 night TA, but we will receive $400 more in non-refundable OBC, and we’ll end up in Barcelona instead of Civitavecchia. Under Celebrity’s restrictions, we could not transfer our second booking to any of the 2024 cruises that interested us in other regions (South America, Panama Canal for example) so we’re taking the refund of our deposit. The end result for us is that we won’t have the anniversary celebration we’d wanted, but we will have a wonderful time on our highly modified journey. The end result for Celebrity is that instead of paying them appropriately 13k for the second leg of a b2b, we’ll spend some of that money on European lodging, dining and cultural attractions.
  10. I’m so sorry to see that you’ve had an exhausting and frustrating end to your journey. Fingers crossed that your bags reach you shortly.
  11. Ditto for our April cruise on Beyond. No smoking/vaping allowed anywhere inside the ship.
  12. Of course the contract with the shipbuilder is signed long before the first build begins. I didn’t say otherwise. However, given that the last Edge class ship won’t be launched until at least 2025, I wouldn’t imagine the wheels are in motion for a build just yet. I would agree that it’s possible that a design team is already floating concepts for the next build.
  13. Safe travels! Btw, while staring into my magic cubes last evening, I saw 🍹😎🏝️💰 in your future😜
  14. Excepting the casino, Celebrity ships were definitely nonsmoking in all inside areas by May 2006. This was one of the reasons we chose Celebrity for our first cruise.
  15. It’s been more than 15 years. Smoking was allowed in the casino on Millennium on our first cruise, which was in 2006. By 2013 the casino was non-smoking.
  16. Celebrity hasn’t allowed smoking anywhere indoors for over 20 years. This is one of the reasons I (and many others) sail with them, and spend time in the casinos. Vaping does expose others to nicotine and other chemicals. Thank you for making us aware of this new policy aboard Equinox.
  17. Yes indeed. Three of these special people were the cause of an hour delay to our recent flight leaving FLL😡 They were finally escorted off the plane by security.
  18. Exactly! The bifold doors are not airtight. The space is more useful since those ghastly huge chairs were replaced with ones that fit the space. The addition of glazing on the doors also helps when one partner (myself) wants to see the sunrise without waking the other partner (DH).
  19. The bifold doors separating the Infinite Veranda from the cabin are not airtight. They will not effectively separate outside air from the air conditioned area.
  20. Beautiful fur babies🙂 Mimi is a ringer for an adorable stray my mom took in when we children found her in a field. Mom named her Annabelle. She loved wrapping herself around our necks😂 It must have looked hilarious to see skinny little kids wandering about with a purring cat on their shoulders. I hope you’ll give a transatlantic crossing a go. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed ours. In fact, we have another booked for next April. The mix of sea days and port days is very relaxing, though I will say we’ve been lucky to have mostly good weather.
