  1. I think you may be remembering the kitten-heeled thong dispute. I’ve been sailing with Celebrity since 2006, and I’ve almost always worn open toe shoes or sandals to dinner. I have been required to wear closed toe shoes/sandals only for sail away on the helipad and for the Inside Access: Behind-the-Scenes Ship Tour. On those occasions, I’ve worn trainers or closed toe amphibious sandals (which also have heel straps).
  2. Yum! This “simple starter” looks similar to the wee platter my DH and I assemble for our Friday night happy hours😂
  3. Oh no! Poor Mr🥺 I’m glad he’s following doctor’s orders to relax, and I hope he feels better soon.
  4. Sushi on 5 was a la carte on Equinox last year. The app says a la carte for our upcoming cruises on Silhouette and Solstice. Just checked my cruise planner for our December cruise on Silhouette. Screen shot attached.
  5. Thanks so much for posting your experience at the Taj X dinner. We loved our Taj X dinner on our Baltic cruise (aboard Silhouette). Our dinner was in 2018, so it’s lovely to see that Taj X has survived the cutbacks. We board Apex for a b2b in July, so I’ll look for information about the dinner. Though I recall feeling too full to try dessert, I will make it a point to try the falooda😋
  6. The dinner on the Magic Carpet is called “Dinner on the Edge”.
  7. Ah but we were organized😂 Our friend had a list of first, second, and third choices for our preferred evenings, and we left it up to her to select the best time slots. One couple needed to dine early, one couple wanted to make the show, and DH and I were flexible. I’m pretty sure our friend was in and out in five minutes, and she was able to reserve our first or second choices for all three dinners.
  8. I’m so sorry your DH is ill. Fingers crossed that he feels better very soon, and you remain virus free. It’s a pity the Wi-Fi is so poor. Others have posted that they were able to order off the regular menus for delivery by room service. Were you offered this option? I hope you have a veranda. I assume you’ve already tried calling Medical and Guest Services with your questions. I had hoped the ships would have a quarantine process by now. A process should include clear instructions for those being quarantined, along with instructions for their travel companion(s). I hope you receive answers today!
  9. Ignore balance due alerts in this case. It takes up to 10 days for Celebrity accounting to finish posting credits and debits for discounts and AI perks. This is transparent to us unless we book after final payment. The same thing has happened with my bookings made after final payment (including my booking for a cruise last month). Don’t worry🙂
  10. Right. But our first intention had been to book restaurants individually if we could book them together. That was impossible, hence the package.
  11. Oh I understand, believe me. We received different answers each time one of us called. When you board, look for a specialty dining desk if you’re arranging specialty dining reservations. If you’re seeking main dining room reservations, go to the first Maître d’ you find. They can help set up reservations at all four MDRs. You’ll need everyone’s cruise booking numbers. Regarding your problem purchasing a surprise shorex for your family, this may actually be a currency or country of residence issue. I was unable to surprise my brother with a similar gift when he was living in the UK. Good luck! I hope you have a wonderful cruise. We sailed on Beyond last month, and had a lovely time.
  12. Regarding dining, this is not solely a currency issue, and it’s certainly not a Beyond issue. On two Celebrity cruises, we have been unable to arrange specialty dining reservations for ourselves and two other couples before boarding. We were all booking with USD, but we couldn’t link reservations because we’d used different travel agents. We had to each book a three night dining package in advance. Armed with everyone’s reservation numbers, the first couple to board (the couple in a suite) was tasked with going straight to the restaurant reservations table to arrange tables for the six of us. Unwieldy? Yes. Annoying? Yes. Did it ruin our reunion with our friends? No.
  13. Just to give you a visual, I’ve attached a screen shot of part of Ascent deck 8, taken from the Ascent deck plans on the Celebrity website. Note the bump out on the left wall of cabin 8169. That is where the bed is located, near the bath. The sofa will be on the same wall, near the veranda. Great screen name, by the way.
  14. I agree with @prmssk that Celebrity releases the new schedule in batches. Europe is usually released in late November, but one year - perhaps 2018 - it was released in late October. Since then, I begin checking in late October. @CruiserMickey I too would like to see the schedule for the Panama Canal cruises.
  15. They’re usually released in late November.
  16. I have seen Luggage Valet confirmed for Equinox only. It was not available on Beyond in April (disembarked 16 April). Most X ships sailed to Europe in late April, but Equinox stayed in FL. Hopefully X will roll out Luggage Valet to the other ships when they return to Florida. If you will be on a fall TA, I don’t believe Luggage Valet can be offered on TAs.
  17. I’m so very sorry you’ve lost your husband. Life doesn’t always go as planned, does it? I’m happy your SIL was able to join you on this cruise. It looks as though you two had a wonderful time. Thanks for posting your informative review. We’ve not yet sailed on Connie, though we enjoyed Millie and Summit. We love TAs, and recently booked our third one for next year. Like you, we enjoy walking and exploring some ports on our own. Thanks for the tip about the Bermuda railway trail! We’ll definitely check that out next time we stop there. Wishing you many joyous cruise adventures.
  18. Happy birthday Iain! It’s lovely to see you and Jim celebrating your special day with your family. Cheers!
  19. I agree. We booked two cruises while onboard in April 2023. Both are in SS and depart in 2024. We paid deposits of $100 pp for each cruise. Total deposit paid for two cruises was $400. We paid exactly the same deposits for two SS booked onboard in October 2021, departing in July/August of this year. We have never paid a double/additional deposit for our SS bookings. We’ve paid $900 ($450 pp) on the ones that were neither booked on board nor booked after final payment. Granted, we’ve booked more Veranda cabins than SS, so we may have missed any “double deposit for Suites” periods.
  20. I’m very happy to see this! Do you think your arrival would have been fairly easy if you’d not booked the M&A service? We’re flying into AMS for a b2b in late July, and I’ve been hoping we wouldn’t encounter the chaos that passengers found last summer. I had noticed the M&A service on the AMS website, but hadn’t researched it further. It’s great to have a positive review! Thanks for mentioning it.
  21. Looking forward to your live review. We visited some of the ports on your itinerary on our Baltic cruise. If you love beautiful scenery, don’t miss the sail in (and sail away) through the Stockholm archipelago. I hope you three have a wonderful cruise!
  22. Looking forward to another lovely @Norwaylady live review. I hope you and your mom have a wonderful journey!
  23. Thanks for sharing your latest adventures with us. Can’t wait for your live review of Japan. Safe travels!
  24. Gorgeous pics! Thanks for taking us along. Wishing you a smooth trip home🌻
