  1. The problem is the stuff is illegal in some ports, ie. Bermuda, that have brought their own dogs onboard to sniff out illegal stuff. Some people don't understand that what's legal in one state might not be legal elsewhere.
  2. I don’t think that works. The government makes the rules. If your cruisecisxa closed loop cruise, i.e. leave and return from the same US port you don’t need your passport. An official government issued birth certificate and government issued photo id will work to cruise.
  3. Looked at the confirmation ta just sent. It has the 30% Savings NRD and Balcony Suite NRD. We usually see the Balcony... deduction, though the amount isn't always the same. Sometimes other deductions. Hope that helps.
  4. Not passport renewal info but Global Entry renewal. We've had this since 2013. Redeived a reminder a couple of weeks ago that mine will expire on my birthday in May 2024 and that I could start the renewal process. Aa long as I started the process current status would continue. Loged in this past Thursday, 11/30. Saturday, 12/2, received an email to check my application. Assumed I messed up something but no all was well. Approved. No new interview needed. Took less than 2 days. Printed out the letter for my file. In addition to the original interview I had one other interview after I had lost a passport and gotten a new one. So somethings are going smoothly.
  5. The only time I heard they let a family member go on a helicopter evacuation was a single mother being evacuated (may have beeN unconscious) and her child, young, was evacuated. Obviously Royal didn't want to be left with a young child until we arrived at the next port, Boston. Evacuation occurred between Halifax and Boston. Passenger was from the UK. She was ok and posted from the hospital several days later.
  6. Not only that but the terminal Royal uses is far from the center of the city. Also Seattle was our first US port after leaving Vancouver in September on our way to San Diego and getting through immigration took hours. We were on Radiance, which is a smaller ship with fewer passengers.
  7. For adult US citizen on a closed loop cruise (Seattle to Seattle) your need a government issued birth certificate and a government issued photo id, i.e., driver's license. You need these to board the ship, unless traveling with a passport.
  8. On a recent Radiance cruise we got a lounger which we shoved into a corner. As to a bigger table on another Radiance cruise, aft facing, it came with a table that would seat 4 easily.
  9. Thanks everyone. I agree and will deal with the ta.
  10. Agree but ta says it has to be paid at final payment. Will deal with it.
  11. Told her to call. She thinks it can only be fixed if it's added to confirmation and paid at final payment.
  12. I agree but when we got the new lower fare the new confirmation, with original booking date and booking number, it showed the new gratuity rate. Trying to get ta to fix it and then will prepay before we sail.
  13. That's what I thought. Ta didn't know that. Tried to explain. Understand ta is a family member who I have to use.
  14. Don't want to prepay at final payment date. That would be 4 months prior to sailing for one cruise.
  15. Yes prepay before sailing but at which rate? And prepay is anytime before sailing. In the past have done it a few weeks before sailing.
  16. Yes, still the same booking number. Did ask ta to check.
  17. That's what I thought. Reservations were made before the 11th but after the 11th the rate went down and the ta was able to make the change. The new confirmation, still showing original booking date has the new gratuity rate, which surprised me. We're still way ahead but didn’t expect the gratuity to be the new rate.
  18. Btw I did expect to prepay before sailing, but at the old rate. We're still ahead.
  19. In the past as long as I prepaid before sailing I got the old rate. As I said the the new cruise fare is considerably lower so I'm still way ahead of the game.
  20. We have 2 cruises booked before the new gratuities were to go into effect. The cruises are for next summer and the original confirmations show the old gratuity rate. The ta was just able to get a lower rate for each cruise, $1000 for one and $500 for the other. Obviously significant drops so maybe I shouldn't complain but the new confirmations show the new gratuity about. Surprised because I thought old rate would continue, but I guess I was wrong. Not happy but still ahead. What's everyone else's experience? Thanks.
