Exactly! Adds more paper waste but I can’t have crackers with my cheese plate due to individually wrapped crackers? An even larger problem to me is that for every receipt someone or several someone’s then must do an accounting of them all!!! What a waste of valuable staff resources!!! Sheesh 🙄

And today it has the surcharges on the menu on Navigator. October 31, 2022. 🎃👻. Yesterday was the start of another new policy which someone had reported about on another ship, maybe 1-2 months ago. (Can’t remember). They now want you to sign a receipt for all drinks ordered even with the beverage package!! I expressed my surprise and dismay immediately on the “tell us” on Navigator app. The waiter came back a few minutes later and said he had to show it to us but we can just say okay and not bother signing it. Today it wasn’t mentioned when I ordered a beer in the lido but was presented one in Grand Dutch. Cafe. What a waste of everyone’s time. The waiter yesterday didn’t seem thrilled about it either!! I was very polite to him and told him I totally understand he needs to follow the rules of his supervisor. I got a printed note in my mailbox this morning saying that my comment had been forwarded to the appropriate department. 🙄

I wasn’t even able to do anything on the app for this last week I was attempting. Neither add a cruise nor flight would do anything except the endless circling of the waiting sign. Didn’t need it anyway. It worked fine for me in September both for flight to Canada and cruise. 🤷‍♀️

I’m not Marty but I’m on Rotterdam now and the Pinnacle menus DOES have a surcharge listed. $7 for an extra appetizer and $15 for an extra entree. ☹️ ~Nancy

Boarded Rotterdam today. No sign of Verifly. Had to show that I had my vaccination card for Turks and Caicos requirements.

I boarded Rotterdam today. No extra charge for additional appetizers in Pinnacle Grill listed on the menu. What is Rudy’s doing? You can get French onion soup every day at the MDR??!!

We have all paid for those "free" pizzas in our cruise fares! New York Pizza on Nieuw Amsterdam is pretty good if you get extra cheese on it. 😐

I was on a three month trip in 2019 over the tax time. I easily filed for an extension. I had an approximate amount I thought I would owe based on the previous years and paid that. It worked out great. I filed when I got home in June. Extension went to October.

Verifly app has not worked every time I’ve tried for days. Circle just keeps going around and around for both cruises and flights. It worked great for me in September for both my flight and cruise. No requirements of testing for my cruise tomorrow so maybe the app has shut down??? 🤷‍♀️

I’m not surprised by ship to ship inconsistencies on HAL. I have seen it for years but this is a big discrepancy from what Happy Hour prices were on Nieuw Amsterdam the last month I was was on. I got off Tuesday. Our HH price was 50% off any drink!! BIG difference I think! ~Nancy

I got two tiles delivered to my cabin on the Nieuw Amsterdam just last week and end of September (two cruises). MDR was closed embarkation day. I received a bronze medal in my cabin two weeks ago. I don’t remember how many cruise days that signifies. I’ll check online. 🤷‍♀️

You don’t need to engage with strangers in the MDR either if you don’t want to! The host ( too hard to spell Maitre ‘d 😉) will ask if you want to share a table but if not, you can sit by yourself! I just got off Nieuw Amsterdam and sat by myself, by choice, every time I went to the MDR for 31 days!!!

“Expanded menu” at dinner is only one added item which changes daily. Breakfast is same menu as main dining room.

Neptune Lounge is only for Neptune and Pinnacle Suite guests. Not for Vista and Signature Suite guests.

Big apology to everyone!! 🫣. I’m mistaken about the day of the Mariner get together for drinks!! I’m packing my case now and came across the actual invitation…..I misread the date when I first got it, it was the day AFTER embarkation!! I’m embarrassed to report false info to everyone. 😔 ~ Nancy

There were drink coupons in the invitation. The stewards left my tiles in the room. I don’t collect them so I returned them.

Me too! I’m on Nieuw Amsterdam and on the first boarding day in Vancouver I got on at 2:30-ish. The reception was at 2:00!! Too early on boarding day I think. It was for 4 and 5 star people. No big deal for me personally though. I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway.
