  1. Just booked a package under DH's name and it only charged us for one and only lists his name; however, it did not ask for my CC number, so how will it be charged? Something is definitely wrong here but we decided to try it anyway for our upcoming October cruise. Didn't have the option for our cruise in 2 weeks though. Weird but kinda exciting! Cheers! Update: Just received an email confirmation for $88.99 on my CC! Wow!
  2. Oh yeah, Harmony has a lot of wonderful specialty dining options, so my vote is the UDP for sure! Happy cruising and dining! Cheers! Besides, there are lots of freebies on CocoCay to enjoy without going to the ritzy Beach Club!
  3. Wow, hate to hear that! We'll be on Serenade in a couple of weeks. I think I'll pack a baggie full of sanitized wipes in my pool bag/carry-on.🤔
  4. On one of our cruises last year, a small hawk flew into a window on the pool deck and attempted to leave out of a window on the other side but slammed into a closed window, then fell to the floor. We placed a napkin over the bird to see if it was ok. It was breathing but unconscious. A wildlife rehabber just happened to be on board and asked to see the bird. We handed the bird to her to check it for injuries, and it seemed to have no injuries. She took the bird to the upper level of the pool area to wait and see if the bird would wake up. After several minutes, the small hawk woke up, so she sat it down on the open deck, where it flapped its wings and flew upwards, circled the ship as if to say thank you, and flew back to land. So glad it survived!!
  5. Just printed our set sail passes and luggage tags for our JS, which used to say "Suite" but now they don't, so now not sure what line we'll be in to board the ship. Guess we'll see.
  6. The new amenity list says one per household until you reach 340 loyalty points, then you can pick two per household. We'll be on a B2B and will reach 340 during the first leg, so was instructed to visit the LA on the ship to request our 2nd amenity for the 2nd leg of our B2B.
  7. We will cruise on March 25th and I just got our GTY suite room number a couple of days ago. Could not get it from the bar code on my android phone. Was hoping for a higher suite but JS will be great, since I paid less money for it! Cheers!
  8. Good to know! We are still waiting on our crystal block from Mariner last October, so maybe "it's in the mail". LOL!
  9. We planned to visit the Next Cruise desk soon after boarding the Serenade in March. Wondering why you are saying wait until the end of the week? We never go to the casino, as DH has lung issues and can't be around smokers/vapers; however, I hear that the Wonder does have a non-smoking smaller casino but I think you have to walk through the larger one to get there, so not happening for DH. Anyway, the Next Cruise desk used to offer more OBC during the first part of the cruise week, not the last, so wondering why you're saying to wait. Great review and thanks for your opinions and tips! Happy cruising and cheers to many more!!
  10. "Will the higher prices per fare and unpopular changes in the MDR have you considering changing lines?" Nope, not us. We're getting up there in age and really enjoy just being on the ship and relaxing. Cost is similar to AI land vacations and a big plus is cruising to different locations and enjoying various sceneries. We'll cruise as long as we are able, and will probably stick with RCCL and Celebrity going forward! Cheers!
  11. I usually check "My Cruises" account daily for excursions, packages, sales, etc., to pop up! Cheers!
  12. If the ship has the vitality spa, the package will also include fruit smoothies, to which you could even add a shot (or 2) of coconut rum!🍹 Yum!
  13. I would say, yes, it's worth it for your short cruise. Remember, the Dx package includes everything, not just alcohol. And, the "not having to worry about if you used up all of your D drinks, is a plus! I vote "yes" and hope you enjoy your shorty! Relax and enjoy the beach, etc.! Cheers!
  14. They repaired the shower seat a couple of days later. DH tested it out and now it is "very sturdy" and he does not think it will fall off the wall again. The bolts are twice the width/length and the silicone around it should hold it in place for a very long time. If I were you, I would really prefer to have that room again vs ones that may not have been checked out. Our room was #8242, which I consider now to be the best accessible JS of all of them! Happy cruising and cheers!
  15. We recently finished our B2B on Odyssey. Staff were all great! We had a couple of hiccups, one being no enforcement of the "no smoking" zones, both inside and outside, on board for the entire first week; however, better enforcement was noticed for the 2nd week. DH has lung issues and we had to keep moving out of areas where someone was sneaking their puffs. Very annoying. The worst issue was when I sat on the accessible folding down seat in the shower and it collapsed to the floor with me on it! Long story short, I needed to pull the cord to get some help. No, I do not weigh the max of 350# for the seat. Anyway, I just had a few bruises and soreness. DH is a great handy man and, in his opinion, the bolts were too small and not long enough; they had also rusted. RCCL is very lucky that it was me that fell and was not hurt bad. Hopefully, RCCL's staff had each and every folding down seat checked out to make sure they are installed safely! Yes, this was also submitted in my survey. We ate in the MTD room every night on the first week, and only dined in specialty restaurants and CK during the 2nd week. The food in the MDR was always good to great but never inedible. The specialty venues were superb, which is what we paid for, so will definitely try to dine specialty going forward or at least use our BOGO amenity for 2 nights. The filets in all venues were delicious! On our future cruises, if I don't care for the MDR menu, I will just order my favorite filet from Chops, which has a reasonable upcharge IMO! To answer the question, will we continue to choose RCCL for future cruises? Most definitely yes, even with the seat falling disaster (that's why it's called an accident). We have 10 future cruises booked with RCCL and look forward to all of them! All of the cruise lines are experiencing problems. The only other change I will make is to have DH check out that d*** seat before I decide to sit on it! LOL! Happy cruising and cheers to all of our cruising buds!!
  16. Last year, we only tipped half of what you are doing. This year, I convinced DH to increase it to what you are listing. We also tip $1 per drink every time a waiter serves us, voucher or drink package. DH would also tip our "favorite" bartenders making our drinks. I sometimes would like to increase our tips for specialty dinners and the room steward but DH doesn't think it's necessary. Of course, DH is probably the reason we are comfortably retired and continue to cruise often, so, I have become spoiled to some extent. We continue to make it a point to interact with all of the staff and let them know that they are truly appreciated for their service, so I hope our tips are acceptable to them.
  17. We booked A2S for our Hawaii cruise in September and was able to select our seats immediately (money not due until final payment); however, it may have something to do with booking First Class. I've never flown First Class and wanted to do so for my 70th birthday, so not sure if that may have had something to do with the ability to select our seats right away.
  18. OK, here's an upsell moment that I won't ever forget. I am a very plump (LOL) gal and have trouble walking for long distances and/or standing for a long time, so I sometimes use my scooter or just a cane to alleviate some of "the load". When we were on a ship sitting at Schooner's bar, I had my cane with me. A nice looking man, who works on the ship which I didn't know at the time cause he didn't even introduce himself, said to me, "Excuse me. Are you in pain? I can help you with your pain." I was surprised by his question and replied, "No, I'm not in pain and, after a few more drinks, may need this cane to find my way back to my room!" With that, he left and I later found out that he was one of the people performing acupuncture on the ship! Whew! Avoided that one! I know that some of the specialty restaurants send out staff to upsell but the acupuncture guy was a first for me!
  19. It could depend on how big the ship is if you have any mobility issues. If no issues, I would much prefer the cabin with a better ocean view for sure! We love the cabins all of the way in the AFT to get the wake view and when the ship leaves port. Some have reported engine noise but we only heard engine noise when the ship started up, not while cruising or at port. The balconies are a bit bigger all of the way in the back.
  20. Thanks for letting us know about the "no knocking" for CK. Question - we will also have a 3 night dining package for my birthday week on Odyssey in February; where should I begin first to make all of our reservations? Can someone at CK make reservations for the specialty restaurants as well? TIA! We're in a JS that week. Oh, and we'll also be on the week previous but in a regular balcony that week, so maybe even make them that week before? Sorry for the ?'s.
  21. Our flights were booked with Delta and United for reference.
  22. I made this exact same mistake last year and posted about it but guess you missed it. Sorry about that. I won't make that same mistake again, so lesson learned! Happy cruising! Cheers!
  23. Our family of 4 will be flying to Vancouver this September for a cruise on Celebrity to Hawaii and its surrounding islands for 9 nights followed by a 5 night stay in Honolulu, then back home to Indiana. We booked A2S First Class (first time for me) and have our assigned seats (hopefully) with payment not due until final payment. I asked for the flight to Vancouver to be business class and the flight from Honolulu to be First Class but the agent said the flights all needed to be the same class, which I do not understand why but said, what the hell, and decided to fly all First Class. I turn 70 this year and am very excited to fly First Class for the first (and probably only) time in my life! Hoping all goes well!🙏
  24. We would do that too but a lot of ships have early TD seating before 6pm and 6pm would be the earliest that we would want to get there. 5:00 or 5:30 is just too early for us, so will opt for MTD at 6:45 or even 7:00 but not any later or would just eat in the WJ as a last resort.
