  1. Since I've been having trouble with prolonged standing/walking, I've been taking my scooter on our recent cruises. Sometimes, I can leave the scooter in our room and use my cane to get around; however, the Wonder was so huge, I was thankful that I had my scooter too! We've been all over the Caribbean, so now usually just stay on board and enjoy the ship. If you like wings, Playmakers has really good ones! The shows are outstanding! Looking forward to cruising on Wonder again!
  2. It was called the 5-glacier tour by seaplane to the Lodge and we elected to have the grilled salmon lunch included. The seaplane flew us to the lodge and back, since you can only access the Lodge by seaplane. We were told that they actually catch and cook the salmon right there by the Lodge. Whether they really do that or not, I don't know, but it doesn't matter, because the salmon was the best we've ever had! While flying over the glaciers, passengers wear headphones, which allow you to hear the pilot telling you all about the glaciers and the beautiful blue waterfalls that you will see from up there! Jaw dropping and, even though pricey, I would definitely do it again if and when we go back to Alaska! Cheers! P.S. Tip for my CC friends - when you board the seaplane, someone can sit up front with the pilot, so grab it if available!😉 My husband asked if he could sit there and was told, yes, you can! On the return flight, everyone returned to their original seats and hubby said, "doesn't anyone want to sit by the pilot?" Haha! One gal quickly jumped to her feet and said "I do!" He had the front seat going to the Lodge and graciously gave it up to another for the return flight. That's only one reason why I love him!
  3. Hey RCCL if you're listening! We'd love to have a couple of those 25 years baseball caps! We cruise the Mariner in October, so just leave them in our cabin please!😉
  4. We use the RCCL Visa for all of our cruises to apply the OBC. It's very easy to do and, whatever amount you choose not to use while on your cruise, the remainder goes back as credit to your CC. Win win! Sweet! There may or may not be better CC deals out there but we prefer to use our Visa! Happy cruising! Cheers!
  5. If a cabana was purchased at the beach club, the price includes day passes for up to 8 people, so, unless they have 8 people you could join them and help pay the price. If they have 8 people, you would need to buy your own day pass and could probably visit them in their cabana or they may be able to add you to the cabana for an extra fee. This is not based on experience; however, so maybe someone else knows for sure! Oh and welcome to Cruise Critic!
  6. I have been taking my scooter with me on the ship, so I have it when needed. I also can walk with a cane but not long distances. Most port terminals before you board the ship will have scooters for rent. The ships do not allow its wheelchairs to leave the ship; however, I have seen golf carts and small shuttles on the piers at most ports to transport those who cannot or prefer not to walk the long length of the pier.
  7. You should get refunded for the taxes and port fees for the no-show, so that's something vs nothing. Happy cruising! Cheers!
  8. I think that 20 minute window has narrowed to 5-10 minutes. I suggest you talk to the MDR manager to ask if you can be later. They need to turn the early seating tables over for the late seating. If the early seating diners stay later than expected, the late seating diners would have to wait for their table at their assigned time. That would be rude in my opinion. Sorry, but good luck! Cheers!
  9. She completed the first step by filling out the RCCL special needs form. Next steps are talking to the managers of the MDR and the WJ as to your special needs; I have heard that they can and will offer to cook low-sodium food for you if it's not readily available in the buffet. If dining in any specialty restaurants, your food will be prepared and cooked how you like it. If you are a Diamond or above member with RCCL, and/or you are in a "suite" for your cruise, your Diamond and/or Suite concierge can certainly take care of all of this for you! Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Happy cruising!
  10. Just checked the cabana price for our upcoming cruise and it indeed says 6 people max. It still may be cheaper to get the cabana vs 6 day passes. We enjoyed having a place to put our "stuff", as well as the cabana attendant brings food and drinks directly to your cabana!
  11. Check prices for individuals vs getting a cabana inside the water park to put all of your stuff. DH and I had a water park cabana awhile back and, to my recollection, it included 8 water park passes, not 6. So, getting a cabana may be well worth it for you! Doesn't hurt to check. Enjoy!
  12. I will say that I was glued to reading all of your first post on here! I was so afraid that your sis was going to be too late to board the ship! So glad you both made it! I was on the edge of my seat! LOL!
  13. Yes, lots of all inclusive on the island, pools, food and shade! Only pay for water park, upscale resort area, some loungers with umbrellas, day beds, snorkel equipment, balloon ride, etc. Ship drink packages can also be used at bars on the island. You can enjoy the island all day without paying a dime, if you so choose! Cheers!
  14. A friend and a great TA told me about it the last weekend in April, so I was lucky enough to pay off several cruises through February of 2024 including a long Panama Canal cruise! Lots of points to use for OBC! Very happy! Cheers!
  15. Good morning and thanks again for all of the beautiful pictures and great story telling! I'm off to get some java but will return later! Cheers! (it's always 5 o'clock somewhere)
  16. You can also find it via Google "Royal Caribbean Visa Mother's Day 2023".
  17. Where did you see this? Can't read the fine print, so wanted to go to the source.
  18. Yup, same here! We have a dozen booked and all are way up now! Glad I booked early!
  19. DH and I will be on the Radiance, beginning on October 5, 2024, for the Panama Canal cruise. Our roll call page is up on Cruise Critic, so come join us!
  20. Thanks for all of the wonderful pics! Enjoy your cruise, grab some eats, and drink a cold one for us! Cheers!
  21. It just fascinates me how all of the ugly, rusted pieces can be transformed into such a beautiful ship! There are a lot of awesome engineers and ship builders out there! Very much looking forward to hearing more about Utopia! Thanks for the updates!
  22. I was wondering why you hadn't had any answers to your post. Now, I know. I, for one, cannot believe that you cancelled your cruise over their failure to let you know if and when the UDP would be available. I really don't know what to say to you, other than you may be that person who always sweats the small stuff. There is no perfect cruise line, so maybe cruising is just not for you. DH and I have had no bad cruises; some were better than others but none were terrible and service has always been outstanding on Royal Caribbean. Don't mean to anger you even more, as I am sorry your experience with Royal was unacceptable to you. If this happened to me, I would still very much enjoy my cruise. Have a better day! Cheers!
  23. Just hurry and book some more, so you have something to forward to!! Don't feel sad about the last one; feel good about the next one!! Cheers!!
  24. Usually 15 minutes between alcoholic drinks and, yes, they'll do floaters (tip well)!! Love that Kraken rum floater on my Pina Coladas!!
