  1. Smoothies are covered with refreshment package. If you opt for a protein or vitamin powder, there is a charge for that.
  2. And I am saying they can charge the fee even if THEY don’t open the bottle. I have NEVER been charged the fee on Royal, but opening the bottle in your room doesn’t make you immune to the possibility.
  3. Opening the bottle yourself VS the staff opening the bottle has nothing to do with corkage fee. Corkage is to reclaim lost revenue for not being able to sell you the alcohol
  4. You need to bring your Vaccination card to show you don’t need to test.
  5. I wouldn’t consider it a “set 3 course menu” It is exactly like dining at a land based restaurant, a full menu that you pick and choose from. Appetizer, Soup/Salad, Entree, Desert.
  6. Has nothing to do with blue laws, it’s a tax issue. In Texas waters you have to serve alcohol that has been taxed in Texas. The only “limit” to what they can serve, is what the cruise lines want to pay tax on.
  7. My wife (vegetarian) and daughter (vegan) have never been overly impressed with the options; in their words, the menu tries too hard to be more than it is. Odd combinations, spice combinations that don’t quite hit the mark, and an overall lack of options.
  8. I have the North lot booked for February Allure, it was in the $150 range for 7 days. A little more than down the street, but well worth it to me to be so close to the terminal, eliminate shuttles, and avoid walking over the railroad tracks with luggage.
  9. The new drink voucher system is one of the BEST things to come out of the pandemic; a close second is the E-Muster process
  10. Texas embarkations allow the use of your drink package immediately, there are a few brands that aren't available until the ship is in international waters (around dinner time) but that is it. I can't speak to New York
  11. They won’t do ANYTHING that jeopardizes the nearly $600,000 (based on Oasis class ship), per ship, per week, tax free payroll assistance plan they have going
  12. Wonder how many would sail a different line that didn’t require one to jump through hoops?
  13. Thank you for proving my point optional, at my discretion port fees - can’t be removed - cost of cruising taxes - can’t be removed - cost of cruising bar tip - can’t be removed - cost of cruising daily automatic gratuity - can be removed - not a cost of cruising
  14. You are completely discounting the fact that the cruise line allows for no questions asked removal of the automatic gratuity. This SCREAMS “optional policy”
