It’s crazy what actors will do to themselves for a movie. I’ve seen Nick Cage in several movies the past couple years and he looked normal so this has to be just for this movie.

Ozempic will be his new best friend.

  2. @TravelGirlinDallas I would fly into Sacramento and drive up the coast to the Redwoods and then depending on time hit the Oregon coast. Beautiful and no CA nonsense. Or, if you haven’t been to Yellowstone it’s amazing. We stayed at Old Faithful Lodge and it was so beautiful and relaxing. Way less people than Yosemite which is traffic hell and standing room only on the hikes. Great hikes at Yellowstone if you enjoy that. You could stay at Grand Tetons for a couple days as well.

  3. This seems their new sop.  Exactly why we won't be sailing with them until something changes.  As experienced cruisers we all understand the cruise contract and that ports can be changed but the way NCL is doing it, after final payment, with dubious reasons, no way.  Still can't believe what they pulled on the supposed Antartica cruise this year.

  4. Meat with a bone seems to have become an issue of late.  I don't get it.  I don't ever buy/order boneless pieces of meat unless I have no choice as boneless pieces do not have as much flavor.  Perhaps it's a result of children's meals which don't require utensils...something which has caused widespread loss of manual dexterity since for the most part children no longer need to use knives and forks if they're not eating at home.

I also don't understand the appeal of a filet mignon.  Yes, it's tender but no taste.  Why anyone wants to cut a steak with a fork is beyond me. Give me a ribeye, or skirt or chuck eye if I'm on a budget.

I'm a big fan of chuck roasts, lamb shoulder roasts, the above mentioned steaks, chicken and turkey thighs, pork shoulder steaks...all cuts with lots of flavor and very forgiving to the cook.  And cheap to boot...one of the few things in life where cheaper is better. Ok, exception, I'm very fond of short ribs on the bone and they're expensive.

Hey Tribe Family! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that our review will be popping up sometime tomorrow evening. Patti and I have just about fully recovered from the cruise crud, and are ready to bring you all the action! Thanks for your patience. Have a great night! :classic_cool:

Great news, I've been looking  forward to  this.

That would be our other Shitzu, Princess Barney.  He is getting up in years and mostly sleeps.  Good life for our dogs.

Yep.  They were born to be loved and spoiled.  Dude excels at both.

Our house went active on Zillow today.  DH and I looked at the pictures and asked what kind of idiots would sell that great house.  Too late now!!  Hoping today's rate cut inspires people to buy a house now, and get the next rate cut before closing.

@pirate4me2 Good job!  I'll be glad when I can cruise shop again.  This move is preventing my normal life.  I do have my eye on a 2025 QM2 Christmas cruise from New York though.  DS loves Christmas and we could do the New York Christmas things before boarding.

  7. Thank-you @mommio Dude tends toward drama and nothing untowards since Saturday so fingers crossed. We'd already decided he couldn't cope with the cross country drive so will ship both cars and fly together as a family...we had no idea the packing would be so stressful for him.

I'm assuming its Moe in your picture?

  8. Thank-you @TravelE He had a normal evening and morning and is now at his dog sitter since we're moving to a hotel for next 10 days.  Dude doesn't do well in hotels.

Our house goes on the market tomorrow, just hoping it sells quickly so we can finish out our time here easily. DS doesnt do well with upheaval either so it's been a real party around here.

  9. Ok Tribe, anyone with a dog with seizures? Our 11.5 year old Shih Tzu had two 60 second seizures today, about 15 minutes apart. Lucky we were 3 minutes from the vet when the first one happened so the vet was able to witness the second one. His labs and x-rays are normal, also neurological signs. DH and I hoping just stress from the move with lots of things disappearing and our anxiety as Dude is very sensitive. I’m a basket case. He’s eaten  jerky and trying his darndest to act normal but they sedated him so he’s not 100%.  Cool, he just came in the bedroom to have a drink, he hasn’t had water since 2ish.

  10. I was in Atlantic City about 15 years ago and surprisingly really liked it. I’d always assumed it was seedy, which it was, but I loved the boardwalk. I was with my sister and she too was unexpectedly charmed. It’s been on both our possible vacation lists ever since.

  11. I don't know @KmomChicago the whole thing sounds a little odd.  Not the possibly cheating part, you've said he moves quickly so June, I can see that.  What I don't undertstand is why a medical doctor...assumption on my part...would marry a very recently sober alcoholic???  Why???  She must have seen patients revert back to addiction, she has a good income, why not wait and see how things shake out?

  12. For us at least the medallion messaging wasn't current.  I was still seeing in transit when they'd arrived in my mailbox.  Also, you may want to call special needs about embarkation.  My DS is autistic and the Southhampton staff was wonderful about getting us on the ship quickly.  It was maybe 5 minutes from curb to ship and we arrived around noon.

Eli 6 I follow the Carnival boards as well, are you still doing the Singapore trip?  Or did I miss the whole thing?
