  1. There is another posting on this same subject. If you posted the data from MSC, why ask someone who is not an MSC person? Who do you believe has the valid answer?
  2. On newer NCL ships replaced with The Local.
  3. Maybe it depends on ship. When they had vouchers, I used them in the MDR to order a glass of wine. You got a vouchers. There is no such thing as always. LOL
  4. And, the food is free! Not like the Sports Bar on MSC that charges for food now!
  5. When did they change that? TIA
  6. Excellent response! I could not have said it any better. Really, how can anyone decide what another person should do or not do? Unless a life is in danger.
  7. Create a new user with a new name. That would be the easy way.
  8. We were on the Apex in Dec and last night went to OVC. Could not believe the limited options. I remember years ago Celebrity charged $3 to go to the OVC at night. That was to help subsidize tips.
  9. For what you pay for the Royal Suite, you should get a lot more! LOL
  10. FYI - If you like Mexicana food, the AYCE is a deal. The Hola food on the Seaside was very good. The location was very noisy.
  11. I know this is Celebrity CC. Just to add from the other lines. NCL only does it once a day and cabin personnel now clean 24 cabins instead of 16. Just got off of the Symphony OTS and they are already if not now doing once a day. Reduced menus both on Symphony and a single menu on NCL. Changes are coming and very fast. However, gratuities are increasing!
  12. Everyone has an opinion! We have over 100 cruises on many cruise lines. Normally cruise 10 times a year. This year we are on RCI, MSC, CELEBRITY & NCL. Do we have a favorite? No, each line has it's plus & minus. Best food Celebrity Best entertainment RCI Best bang for $ MSC Best perks NCL Bottom line, try any line once. Only you can decide if it is for you or not. Happy Cruising!
  13. For $400 I can add another $400 and book a Seascape 7 day cruise, inside cabin, with beverage packet, WiFi and $50 OBC. So, what are you really getting for your $400 for x number of hours? Food and drinks are already included in my fare. Only you can answer you question. Your money, your choice. Happy Cruising!
  14. Thanks for your suggestion! We are Seniors and don't eat that much. We never go hungry. Checked those lines out and don't believe we would get our money's worth. Difference in cost!
  15. What about using: Mint Sauce instead of Mint Jelly? Big difference in taste and flavor. Ships very seldom have Mint Sauce as it is more expensive. We bring our own.
  16. You have never attended a Specialty Restaurant on any ship? If you have, you have paid unless you are Diamond on MSC which now gives you 1 free Taste Menu selection.
  17. MSC should be totally embarrassed holding the Diamond party at 11am on a port day! Management way of cutting costs. SMD
  18. Short cruises are fine if you do not have to fly to the port. Airfare is more expensive than the cruise. So, short cruises are not for us. Fourteen days or more!
  19. Just priced out my 2 B2B April 2023 cruises on the Seascape. We both have drink and wifi pkgs. Here are the results for Category YC1 and BR2. YC1 $5,802 w/OBC $200 BR2 $2,009 w/OBC $350 YC1 +$3,793 w/$150 less OBC YC1 $5,698 w/OBC $200 BR2 $2,006.00 w/OBC $350 YC1 +$3,692 w/$150 less OBC Total YC1 cost for the 14 days more than the BR2 is: YC1 $11,500 w/OBC $400 BR2 $4,015 w/OBC $700 $7,785 when adding in less OBC for YC1 of $300. That is almost 4 more cruises for 2 people. We all have choices. Your money and your choice. Happy Cruising!
  20. So, you like MSC (Mad Dog 2020) food. LOL We cruised CELEBRITY, MSC, NCL and RCI last year and are doing same year. We consider, as many others, that MSC food is fair in quality, selection, presentation, taste when compared to the other lines. Don't tell me it is European. Been around world and tasted food around the world. Woof woof!
  21. Food is very subjective. We like thick crust with everything on it. Everyone has their own liking. Enjoy and Happy Cruising!
  22. What ship date in April? We are on the Seascape Apr 16 - 30.
  23. Sorry to hear about your DH! We wish you both the Best!! We are in our 80s. I have lost 5 members of my family to various forms of cancer, so do understand your position. We have over 135 cruises and just would not use the services provided by a butler and other things. Been to the YC for Captains Parties, toured the YC cabins and areas. We do price out YC and cannot justify the cost. JMHO! As Diamond on MSC we get what we need, crew recognizes us, priority boarding, etc., without the extra costs. We normally do about 10 cruises per year. Again, we understand your reasoning and were not questioning why. Just do what you think is right and enjoy each cruise as we do! Best of all!!
  24. Fully understand your position! Now for the other side of the coin. We are Seniors. We liked to join in with the rest of the crowd to meet people from around the world on each cruise. We don't mind waiting our turn. We don't put towels on chairs to become a chair hog at any time. We don't arrive an hour early for a show and never have. We don't need a butler to unpack or escort us as we capable of doing so on our own. We try to be self sufficient. We would rather cruise more times than just the cost of 1 YC cruise. We find the staff very friendly to all and even know us by name and our drink after the first couple of days. I guess each person has: 'Different strokes for different folks.' Enjoy your cruise regardless of category! Happy Cruising!
