  1. The legislation was passed into law on the 26 Oct 22 and assented on the 28th. The changes come into effect on Friday the 4th November. Good luck Uncle Les when you apply for your CSHC card.🤞🙏
  2. Under $100 a night on Princess from Melbourne. 😮
  3. Here is a cheap deal to sail Cunard on the Queen Elizabeth.
  4. This report from the ABC is reasonably balanced. They are getting an extra day in Freo. Here is an excerpt. "Ms Fitzgerald said it was suspected the virus had been picked up somewhere in Australia. "I think we have COVID everywhere in the community," she said. "Cruise ships are really the only place now where we're actively managing with testing and tracing. "I think if we were to test 100 per cent of people in WA right now, we would find a small number of COVID cases, just like we have on the cruise ship." Due to rough weather, the ship is due to spend an extra night in Fremantle before departing on Saturday afternoon, stopping in WA's South West and Great Southern before heading to Adelaide."
  5. I agree that we are unlikely to see fares like this next year. But, if they have trouble filling the ships leaving Brisbane, who knows? 🤔
  6. 3 cruises for a total of 45 days. Last cruise was in 2018. If they keep up these last minute prices next year, I'm in.😁
  7. How desperate are Carnival to fill the Carnival Luminosa. Free cruise! OBC is the same as the cost of the stateroom.🤩 Unfortunately, I am unable to take advantage of this offer. Hopefully they make me a similar offer next year.🤞 T&C's "Offer may only be redeemed by the recipient of this offer with a matching VIFP number on max. 2 cruises. Onboard Credit (OBC) is in AUD and applied to the first 2 people in each room-$250 pp (up to $500/room)."
  8. I was encountering the same problem. Ended up ringing cruise planner to make the booking. Try ringing 1800 07 3489 ext 44432
  9. If you pass Willis Island on the way up, I would book a starboard cabin. The return will be inside the reef, therefore with the coast in sight, sometimes.
  10. IMHO, If the numbers are not being reported by the ship or WA health, any number would be purely speculative. 🤔
  11. We visited on the Sea Princess in February 2019. Very memorable for the cricket match being played. Very friendly people.
  12. I doubt that there will be any cruise ships visiting in the near future. So sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to those killed and injured, and their families. 🙏🙏
  13. Cruise Weekly is not happy. 😡 "Nine hacks in again THE Nine network is once again biting the hand that feeds it, with the opening episode of a new season of Under Investigation asking the question “How safe are Aussies at sea?” The program, which was initially shot back in Nov last year, sees reporter Liz Hayes and a “team of experts” probing the laws designed to protect cruise passengers. A preview of the show breathlessly warns passengers they are “heading out to dark waters” with no government protection, with cruises described as a “recipe for disaster”. The broadcast comes despite other in-house Nine brands such as Traveller receiving significant and ongoing advertising support from the cruise sector."
  14. Coral Princess is not trapped in Broome. She is sailing off the coast of Western Australia, and is scheduled to arrive in Geraldton on the 27 Oct at 0800hrs AWST, UTC +8. We will then find out if the Emperor of WA aka the Premier (and also the Treasure) Mark McGowan will allow the passengers and crew to visit his fine city.
  15. This came across my desk over the weekend. Might tempt some in VIC?
