    We stayed at Meriton Suites on Campbell Street in Chinatown. It is a short light rail trip to Circular Quay.

    You have read correctly. Bio-security precludes removing any food items off the ship, be it fruit of other food items.

    I have never heard of anyone starving on a cruise ship. There is always something to eat.😉

    When I have cruised on Carnival from Australia in the past, the first thing I did if I wanted to do a Carnival shore excursion, was go straight to the excursion desk after boarding. Like you, I was unable to pre book before the cruise.
