  1. Cheers for that tale, it had all the essential parts of a story, perhaps you should get on the literary cruise in December.
  2. Your welcome, funnily enough, we had fresh Blueberries and strawberries in some custard.
  3. You need to travel a long way for dinner but hey why not.
  4. My wife likes it cooked right through, hence the crunchy exterior. She also likes the skin off, where as I prefer it on and crispy. I cook hers, take the skin off (for my plate) and sear the fresh edge for her.
  5. Not quite, the Antarctic Circle is at 66.57 Degrees south, most cruise ships get to about 65 degrees south at Paradise Bay.
  6. I know most credit cards have costs on ATMs but not all do, just offering an alternative.
  7. We usually have screen shots and paperwork as backup for overseas trips, but we are normally fine in Australia. Our phone plans have pretty good coverage all over Australia.
  8. Definitely, we lost our beloved Buster in 2008, he was such a personality we found we were grieving and just couldn't replace him. Then, after a year or so, we found the advantage of not worrying about leaving a pet when travelling meant we put it off even longer. Now we realise it will be still a few years off before we get another pet.
  9. There are also ATMs around where you can get cash out, the exchange rate may not be as good as some places but it is convenient.
  10. Most places will take card both Australia and NZ, I would think some cash may be useful for incidentals like dinks or things at markets, depending on your spending habits and length of stay, perhaps $50-100 of each in smaller notes would suffice. One thing to note, is there are shuttle buses in many of the NZ ports, some are free, some have a minimal cost which can be paid aboard.
  11. We have always had face washers, admittedly on the first night they were the size of hand towels,
  12. https://www.sydneymovingguide.com/where-to-find-free-wifi/ There is free wifi at several locations by the Quay. Just remember, nothing is truly free, you will get spam emails from using so called free wifi.
  13. We may or may not get a pet again once our travels are less often and shorter trips. Being pet free is so liberating for travel.
  14. A few years ago we went to NZ for the Masters games, we scrubbed our boots clean before we returned knowing they would be inspected. The funny thing is that we had played on Astro turf for all our games. They still checked once back in Australia.
  15. I will be there next month, we re on HAL Oosterdam, starts in Buenos Aires on 29 January. I haven't been to Chile before (airport excluded), but Argentina has lots of great foods, empanadas for one.
  16. We just took carry on for our last trip as we were flying jetstar (7kgs each). We managed it easily as it was Uluru for 4 days, and the weather is hot, it is in Australia, etc We wouldn't be able to do that for an international trip, even if we increased to 10kgs each, we would likely struggle.
  17. I would take the tote over the choices. Especially if I was a new cruiser.
  18. If I was doing a WC from my home port, I would certainly be taking more changes of clothes rather than recycling through the same 4 outfits for the whole cruise.
  19. One of my favourite. We have the salmon well browned on the edges, like this image.
  20. We have aldi tokens but also have a $1 coin for when we shop at Coles or Woolies.
  21. HAL and NCL are still giving some items, but most lines have cut back.
