  1. Casino bars and libraries are an endangered species on Carnival. Every dry dock seems to involve removing these.
  2. Just set up separate sail and sign accounts and have each attach a credit card! Unless they are buying this cruise type cash with a discount it isn't worth the hassle imho. The gambler should bring cash to avoid fees for credit card use in the casino though.
  3. And I mostly fly with Southwest also so you are preaching to the choir. I feel your angst!
  4. I am not fighting against anything. Other people removing their gratuities because they are a cheap arse is none of my business. If gratuities become mandatory then like I said, they are no longer gratuities. The incentive to provide better service is no longer there. The chance the they could be removed might just keep some of the stewards etc on their toes. And then there would be a new expectation to provide gratuities once again. The current system has worked for many years. I like it exactly the way it is. I hit the prepay box, pay it by final payment, and am done.
  5. There is no real benefit but it seems like Carnival apparently doesn't like the amount of hours it takes for their staff to process the shareholder credit applications.
  6. And it shouldn't happen. Once it becomes compulsory it is no longer a gratuity. Besides this there are surely tax implications for Carnival if they did. I personally just prepay mine and not worry about it onboard.
  7. I know when my cruise is coming up also................usually about the same time the airlines start messing with my flights!
  8. It would still be prudent to redact with this new app. Give them minimal info to be safe.
  9. There is some good reading in the Princess forum about this. You don't need to divulge all the info the app asks for. Just what we all need is another app to clutter on our phones ! I will use and delete as necessary. Apps can lead to info being stolen if they are compromised.
  10. It is a great motivation for some, yes ! Besides, the new muster method is the best thing to happen because of covid. So much better than being herded outside in a giant noisy group of people not paying attention imho 😉
  11. I have heard the number of cabins per steward is closer to 40 per day, part of the reason they are only doing once a day service now.
  12. You need to book a Spirit class and then sit in the interior promenade, it is a ghost town for the most part. Also very quiet on deck 3 in back near the restaurant in the mostly unused bar area.
  13. On the Radiance it is hard to walk without running into someone!
  14. That is exactly why they took out the lower level of the nightclub on the Pride to create 5 more staterooms on deck one along with a dedicated chef's table location also on deck 1. I am guessing the lower level of the nightclub will also be removed on the rest of the Spirit class as they dry dock next.
  15. The card room sort of became the defacto library after they took it away with the chapel.
  16. I don't know but it has replaced the chapel and library on all the Spirit class ships.
  17. The Carnival Shareholder benefit form doesn't mention this as of now on their website.
  18. The Pride lost its library and chapel to the arcade in 2019. It more recently lost the card room on deck 2 to the Carnival Adventures store.
  19. Some of these decks have been converted to premium view staterooms. Other than the interesting name of "secret" these decks really don't have much appeal imho. They are very windy while at sea and no deck chairs etc probably due to same wind.
  20. No luck here. I left a whole one point on the table and got nothing.
  21. Unfortunately the hot tub in the gym is now gone as is the card room on deck 2. It is now Carnival adventures shop.
  22. In May craps was $10 for the pass line. I think this is pretty much the standard now, it was the same on Panorama in Sept.
  23. None of the Spirit class doors open any more to the 4K rooms unfortunately.
  24. If they do to the Miracle what they did to the Pride it's curtains for the lower level of Dr. Frankenstein's Lab to make way for 5 new rooms and a dedicated chef's table. Adios Mr. Monster!
