Just as a side note, the MSC basic drink package for $38 prepaid online (regardless of ship or sailing date) is about the best drink package at sea (for the price). On Oasis recently I had the Key and it was lunch in the MDR from the limited Chops lunch menu.

Correct. I had the UDP on Freedom and Chops was closed for lunch on embarkation day, however, I was able to have lunch at Giovanni's Kitchen and there I made all the reservations for the remainder of the cruise.

It's a good idea to check to see how much an upgrade would be. Sometimes it is less than the minimum Royal Up bid. Royal Up could end up costing more than a regular upgrade.

I'm not so sure Royal Up is the way to go these days. Right after the restart I was able to get a good deal on a JS using RU. But now when I check the price on an upgrade on my upcoming cruises, the price is way lower than the lowest bid price on Royal Up.
