  1. No worries - I'll treat you to a $5.00 drink next time you're in town. 🤣 Might have to be at my place - LOL!
  2. Where did you find a drink for $5 in Miami? I live in the area and it looks like your prices are on the low side. I wish! I do agree that cruising is a good value. Especially if you have C&A benefits.
  3. Not trying to make any point = just agreeing that FL weather is very different up and down the State and that goes for TX too Enjoy Allure - following your live thread.
  4. That's a great idea and I hope it works out for you. Keep trying and I'm sure you're likely to get a response before your cruise. Happy cruising and diving!
  5. I agree - I live in Miami-Dade County and there is a big difference between our weather and the Orlando and Florida Panhandle weather which gets colder and colder as you head north.
  6. Best less crowded place to have lunch on the ship is any specialty restaurant that's open.
  7. When on Odyssey recently the PADI folks were nowhere to be found. Very limited hours.
  8. 1. I board with my favorite tote bag to do some heavy duty shopping when the stores open (see below) 2. I scout out the closed stores for the shopping spree to come 3. I wait with bated breath for the stores to open 4. Finally as we in international waters and shops open, I go in for the kill 5. Shop 6. Shop some more 7. Go to cabin - drop off shopping haul - empty out tote 8. Shop some more 9. Fill up tote bag 10. Repeat 11. Shop 'til I drop
  9. LOL - I'm surprised you made it to #9 without passing out.
  10. RCI is depriving us of junk food? Oh, the horror. Guess we'll have to look for an unlimited free supply of chips elsewhere. 😇
  11. Thanks! I tried it on my laptop and it worked as well. You can get a job at RCI's IT Dept!!
  12. Avoiding crowds on a ship (especially at full capacity as they seem to be running these days) is impossible. Wearing a mask at all times while indoors on a ship is not only extremely uncomfortable, it also interferes with the whole cruising experience. I understand why someone would wear a mask if they are at high risk but there are also other vacation alternatives that are far less crowded and just as enjoyable. The pandemics that have become endemic (like Covid) or completely eradicated such as the Asian flu, the swine flu, Spanish flu, SARS, MERS, H1N1 etc., etc. are much the result of effective vaccines and not face masks. But if one needs double protection, why not? To each their own.
  13. I've had the same problem for days now. No amount of clearing caches work. 😟
  14. On RC blog there are some posted but the most current info wold be on the App.
  15. Yes, good advice. I've noticed that at times a regular upgrade goes for less than the minimum Royal Up, especially when the price goes down on an existing booking or there's a sale going on. I've been able to upgrade the old fashioned way on several occasions for much less than the minimum RU.
  16. Wow - just goes to show you can anything, anywhere and much worse, not strictly limited to the dreaded C souvenir.
  17. Try Gulmohars in Sint Maarten https://www.facebook.com/gulmohars.sxm/ 76 Front St, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten +1 721-542-2956
  18. Maybe - I have cruised several times since the restart. I think it has a lot to do with percentage of capacity and not so much as whether it is a small or large ship. The only time I got sick was on a fully loaded Odyssey OTS. It wasn't the C souvenir I brought back but a lingering cold / flu for almost a month. Don't know what it was but it was nasty!
  19. I've seen minimum bids all over the place. The only time I was successful scoring an upgrade with a minimum bid was at the very beginning of the restart. I have to think that minimum bids are calculated based on the percentage of bookings for the particular cruise as well as cabin types for existing bookings. RCI outsources the Royal Up program to an outside company, but it makes sense that RCI would communicate to them the level of demand for each particular cruise and existing bookings so they may set the prices accordingly. Good luck with your bid if you made one.
  20. Yes - you can either eat and run in 30 minutes or linger for over an hour sipping those delectable bottomless mimosas.
  21. Funny! I've seen much worse in the WJ - seen any thong bikinis yet? Post away!
  22. If you are Diamond and above you can request both robe and slippers in any cabin - whether you get them is a different story. The slippers I haven't seen in a long time, IMO they are totally not worth it. If you happen to obtain them, you may wear the outfit anywhere onboard. If you're sensitive to odd looks and whispers directed at you, then rethink your costume.
