I thought that I have read some say that the iMessage worked without a plan. Is that true?

Any more current info? Has anyone ever done the “ Swimming with pigs” that is offered as an “add-on?” We are going to Roatan around Xmas and I have a day planned with Rony’s. I guess that this would be an either/ or situation as one would need to take a boat to LFK. I’ll be appreciative of any info you might be able to provide. Thank You

I’m going on my second Carnival cruise over New Year’s eve. The other one I was on had an incident with a teenage girl which wasn’t nearly as bad as some of those recent ones. They posted a security outside of the family’s cabin and escorted them off at the next port.

How do you find out what type of parties will be on your cruise such as “the white party?”

I have booked this hotel for 12/26/22, https://www.ebhotels.com/miami. They have free transportation from the airport and a breakfast for $10 pp. they also have a cruise and stay pkg that includes a shuttle to the port, but it is more cost effective to Uber. I have read that this is not an area one would want to walk around, but we are arriving in the evening and leaving in the am. Rates are very reasonable. I took a cruise President’s Day 2018 out of Fort Lauderdale. We found a place for $200, Rodeway Inn. I would never stay there again. This is not much more than that and looks very nice.

I did Princess to Hawaii, 1/22. Admittedly, we were just coming out of Covid. The ship was about 45% full. The food and customer service was very good, but the average age was ancient and I am in my early 70’s. There were next to no activities. I will be going on the Celebration over New Years with grandchildren. They would have been so bored on the Princess. It will be my second Carnival and I will be most disappointed if the food isn’t very good. Although Carnival may be less that others, this is far from cheap!

I am on that cruise. I booked a party of 5 at 5:30 at Teppanyaki on 12/29/22 . I made the reservation on 9/4 and they charged me.

If I want to purchase Wi-Fi for only the last to days of our cruise, do I need to wait till then to buy it?

We will be staying mid beach, but I see more selection of restaurants in south beach. It will be the day before our cruise. I was thinking of GF pizza or Mexican food. Any input will be appreciated.

Have you considered Hawaii out of the west coast? I did a 15 day out of San Francisco last January. There are next to no kids.

Do the taxis there expect tips?

The two times I've been to Krazy Lobster in Oct 2021 and May 2022, the taxis are a set $4.00 per person. The massages on the beach are $10 for 30 minutes or $20 for an hour. I did negotiate for some of the souvenirs from the vendors. We had a great, relaxing time there. I hope you and your friends have a wonderful time as well! I, too, am planning on the Krazy Lobster at the end of 2022. Have you been to any other spots on Mahahual? Is Krazy Lobster your #1 pick? Are we safe in assuming the ice cubes and produce is safe at the various restaurants on Mahahual? Thank You!

I don’t have nearly the cruise history that you seem to and I really enjoy your knowledgeable posts. I will be going on my second Carnival. I did one NCL as well as 4 or RCL, 4 PRINCESS, 1HAL, and 1 X. I felt more nickeled and dined on the NCL than any other.

The $10 is simply the gratuity. The cost of the free meal is already cooked into the cruise fare. But the drink package is where they really gouge you. Again, you are only paying $20/day, including port days for a free package, but that is only gratuities. The cost of the free drink package is built into the fare. There are no free drinks. Please explain what the “dining package” is as I have never heard that term. Thank you

I have very often been one of the gamblers in the casinos, but it anything it makes me lose my appetite!

I read a coupl3 of people say that you can iMessage each other without that app or Wi-Fi. I’d like to know if that’s true. Thank you.

I have only about a dozen cruises on 5 different lines. I will be going on my second Carnival. I got FTTF for my only other Carnival, which was 12/14. I believe it was relatively new as it was $50. A cabin then. I liked it and I would do it again if available. It’s not the same for you because I have to pay. It was $100 a cabin last I looked.I have 3 cabins booked. That is $300. I understand that you think hat this dilutes your status, but if I was Carnival, I would bring it back yesterday as I think it has to be a big money maker for them. Surprised it is taking so long!

I was able to use OBC to book Rudy’s on the Celebration, but it would not let me use it for gratuities or Wi-Fi precruise. I’m puzzled as to why.

Is Tropicante close to the Crazy Lobster?

I will be taking my second Carnival on the Celebration 12/22. I was impressed with my last one that was 8 years ago. The food was very good in the dining room. I was less impressed with the entertainment. I have been in 4 Princess cruises, the most recent being 1/22. The food was very good as was the entertainment. We were 45% occupied and the service was outstanding. It was 15 days Hawaii and there was nothing to do during the day. It was all seniors like me. My grandchildren that will be on the Carnival would have been very unhappy on the Princess.

I do not have the exact answer, but I am possibly adding someone and was told that they will allow it unless the ship was so booked that there would not be room in the lifeboats.
