  1. The 5 person regular balcony rooms on Oadis and Allure are great for families with 2 kids. Really wish that they had kept that option on other ships but Pullmans in balcony cabins have been eliminated with the new cabin design
  2. That is definitely not on Allure. You can tell by the cabinetry that it is from either a Quantum class ship or Symphony or Harmony
  3. I wish we had more time to spend there and Stockholm has been added to my list of cities to get back to and for more than a port stop.
  4. Any bookings that were in a group are most likely not completed yet. Any group bookings need to be moved manually while regular FIT bookings are all done automatically. In nearly every move like this any group bookings have taken a week or two beyond the date listed in the letter.
  5. You cannot do this. The D and above discount only is applicable to on board pricing
  6. I have had this happen several.times for clients. While technically any room that holds 4 should be able to hold 3 and therefore you should be able to cancel the 4th off the reservation without a reprice and get the fare reduced by the fare for the 4th guest what occasionally happens is that Royal restricts occupancy to only 4 guests. They will not allow you to book 3 guests in a certain category because they want to increase capacity. When this happens you cannot cancel the 4th guest or you will in most cases be moved to a triple occupancy cabin. You can have the 4th be a no show and get taxes and fees back, you can also wait and hope that as it gets closer to sailing that Royal reduces the occupancy requirements so that you can cancel the 4th guest and get the full fare of that 4th guest removed. After final you can even do this up to the start of the 100% penalty phase as there are different rules for cancelling 3rd and 4th guests
  7. @Sea Dognot the same but here is a picture of one of the ropes from the Vasa that sank in the early 1600's and they found her, well preserved and now have her on display
  8. Overall very good. A few minor things, berries seem to be in short supply yet abundant fresh produce in the markets we have stopped at in port. No sorbet, only ice cream. Sorrento's has to be the worst I have had in at least 5 years. It's like they cooked the dough then added toppings and cooked it again. Hot dog buns in the WJ are small and split into two pieces when you open them....they need thr buns they gave on OA and QN class ships at thf doghouse. The slot machines are all ones geared for the Asian market...casino is very quiet on this sailing. Service has been outstanding, specialty restaurants have been great. Dining room was very good, first time there in probably last 15 cruises.
  9. You cannot use your udp for any of the restaurants offering the special holiday dinners so this excludes Chops, 150CP and Jamies/Giovannis. Not sure about Thanksgiving buy it has been excluded Christmas Eve, Christmas day and NYE. If the restaurant is not offering a special holiday dinner you should be fine.
  10. Not sure if this was the restaurant owner being funny or just a bad translation to English. This sign from a restaurant in Latvia.
  11. There are several on Voyager and have also seen them on Ovation
  12. Royals website is horrible lately for distinguishing between neighborhood balcony and Oceanview balcony guarantees. If it said neighborhood then that is what you get, Central Park or Boardwalk balcony. Most sailings will have both types available so I would call and ask what the difference to upgrade to an Oceanview balcony guarantee is. It sounds like right now you have a category XN and you want a category XB.
  13. Ovation for some reason has a lot of deck 7 balcony cabins classified as obstructed while the same cabins on Quantum and Anthem are not classified as obstructed. As others stated. Very little obstruction and a great choice to book on Ovation.
  14. Different release dates depending on itinerary and length if sailing between November and March
  15. Their cruise sails in October...not covered under cwc regardless of when it was booked.
  16. Royal did offer a shuttle yesterday. $12pp or 10 Euros. There are 2 different HOHO busses that you can purchase passes from right outside the port. I eould avoid City sightseeing as their last bus leaves at 4pm, they run every 30 minutes. The other one runs every 20 minutes and runs till 6:30.
  17. It's after final. Pretty close to a zero% chance of getting the cruise moved without the 50% penalty.
  18. You can still hbook on board and have the booking repriced to the group rate, get the group obc, keep the next cruise obc. The only downside is the booking remains non refundable.
