  1. The best is to go to WCB the first day, and see how many people get upset when they can't get a basic drink, ie gin and tonic. I had 18 on one cruise the first night when sitting at the bar watching the show, who asked, got upset when told to go to a different bar for their drink. Kind of amusing. The bartenders are very nice about telling them, but the few people who decide to argue is funny.
  2. Find a sommelier. Bartenders don't have those lists usually. BTW they are usually the ones in black pants maroon jacket, if your ship has a cellar masters that would be best place.
  3. Like posted they are just different experiences. Constellation is one of my favorite ships overall. But the flow of the S class ships is wonderful. If you’re looking into having more options say for speciality then s class does offer more but not much the only one I really enjoy is the lawn club grille. That is only on the Reflection and silhouette I enjoy Tuscan which is on the constellation. The layout of the ovc I prefer on S class also as it is an open concept instead of row style on c class. I get amused by when people say ohh the ship is old etc when talking about c class ships. Yes they are older but very well maintained and I would travel 🧳 n any of them if the itinerary was right. With that I am on the silhouette next week for 14 days b2b sailings. I look forward to it as I only plan on one more celebrity after this one, TA next year than off to trying smaller lines. Azamara oceana, ama river cruises all booked
  4. Definitely like the balcony and those obstructions are not bothersome at all.
  5. It definitely is not a lap pool. Like others said unless you get there very early or 6pmish no chance on doing laps.
  6. They started having that sale about a week or so ago. Looks like for cruises 2024 my cruise coming up next week still has the wonderful 18.99 for upgrade. I still did it as I drink a ton of sparkling water and fresh juices from spa cafe
  7. Basic marketing 101. Everyone does it. There are many who just see the words Black Friday sale etc. Resorts etc all run same thing. I don’t even look at prices on celebrity site anymore. Just look for any itineraries of interest in time frames I know I can have off. Usually late spring and mid nov time is my quiet time. From there talk to my TA and get much better pricing probably like 30-40% lower than celebrity site with group pricing. Well my last 6 cruises have been anyways.
  8. It's guesswork, probably a sale next week for Black Friday etc but they have pop up sales also that just show up for certain cruises.
  9. I can't wait to see the chaos that will start happening when the VIP passes start going into affect. Since these supposed to get priority, similar to suites? Not anything I will be getting but I think it will through a new wrinkle into check in. I hope they limit the amount they sell etc. I have stayed in the times I sign up for on my cruises. I think it mainly is depending on the port overall on how smooth it will be on embarkation
  10. That’s not available yet. Pkg at this point is you buy it. They will assign you the first night somewhere and then when you get onboard you book the other nights of the pkg. has been this way since they started offering pkg speciality meals. It says that in the highlights section
  11. Have you tried calling to see if they can switch it. I would think that is the logical first step
  12. Not entirely true, I can book the individual restaurants for 8-10% off, then also the first night discount ones. I usually never get a package except it was on sale for the 5 night at 25% off. Its a 13 day TA so figure why not. Yes overall the pkg does come out better dollar wise per restaurant visit as you're not paying the premium of each individual place. But this is a big improvement if they can get it to work correctly with their stupendous IT figuring it out.
  13. Last one I saw was on my Connie cruise right after start up. I prefer the Veuve Clicquot over the Chefs table dinner. Hoping I see it on the Silhouette coming up and or in April.
  14. Still love the additional discounts UP To 300 based of Quad occupancy. No OBC given looks like, which I get has gone away. Ill still do my group pricing thru my TA I use
  15. Just read this from CC about RCL Cruise Critic learned that the cruise line is preparing to implement a change that will allow passengers who purchase a dining package to make reservations on specialty restaurants before their cruise. Currently, cruisers who purchase a dining package can only make reservations for specialty restaurants once they get onboard their ship, which can create stress on embarkation day. Royal Caribbean offers two dining package options: a 3 restaurant dining package and an unlimited dining package. There isn’t a set date yet for the implementation of this new reservation feature. But according to Jay Schneider, Royal Caribbean’s Senior Vice President and Chief Product Innovation Officer, the cruise line is aiming to have it up and running a few days soon after the launch of Icon of the Seas, whose debut is slated for Jan. 27. Moreover, Schneider revealed that this functionality is currently being tested on board Wonder of the Seas. And the plan is to eventually roll it out across the fleet. This would be a great feature to have that Celebrity does not allow or have in place, let RCL figure out the works of it and then incorporate it into Celebrity cruise planner and app. Of course, we are dealing with mostly at times inept IT departments. 16. This kind of reminds of when I was working in a hotel and we got a call on directions. The clerk gave directions and what exit to get off....exit 14. Later when guest got there, they got ballistic because we gave them the wrong directions. They got off exit 14 in Mass instead of Vt. Ummm, would assume the person knew at least what state they needed to go to for their stay that they booked. Guess not, I tried not to laugh as they were yelling at me. Didnt work.
  17. For fun priced out Iconic suite, not like I will ever sail in that, but for a 7 day with refundable it was 70k. I have much better trips in mind that I could spend 70k on for much longer time. I look for itineraries now, as much as the shipboard experience matters its probably only about 20% of what I am looking for on cruises now.
  18. Its on there FB page. Hoping its just for the announcement of the ship xcel or whatever they want to call it. Its not on their website yet, and no announcement yet on what is going on.
  19. Its posted but not available to book when I tried. Not going on the new ship just more curiosity as I have Christmas Markets river cruise happening then with a group of us.
  20. My cruise this month is same 18.99 but my TA next year in April had the special 6.99 deal for upgrades. It’s understandable to me in that I’m locked in if I got it etc. not upset in any sense as it’s part of the cost of cruising I factored in.
  21. That’s what these sites are for. You will get lots of useful feedback but also some that are ummmm
  22. It’s a crapshoot. There are times the spa offers great deals while onboard and others not so much. Really depends on how there bookings go which no one has access to beforehand etc. it’s a decent price for a massage.
  23. Also even if you tip directly it still will mostly be pooled by the people you tipped. I think if you do an individual envelope with the persons name then they might be able to keep it. Completely understand the Ie norms of the different cultures and how it applies to tipping. I go on the basis of how that country business does the tipping not where I am from as I don’t expect everyone to follow the way my country does tipping. Yes I am from usa but also make sure i have a basic understanding of every country I visit.
