  1. Recently stayed in a Spa Balcony on the Breeze. The double plug by the desk is horizontal...picture your standard home outlet turned 90 degrees. And it is just above a "backsplash" type lip that is about 3/4" deep. So no way that one would work. But a double wide plug "might". I was able to plug in a double wide USB charging block like this one. Any wider and I don't think it would have worked. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Blackweb-USB-C-USB-A-Dual-Port-Wall-Charger-White/549657159?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42423897272&wl4=aud-393207457166:pla-51320962143&wl5=9028035&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=549657159&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw54iXBhCXARIsADWpsG-I121q5h5zHONqPQ0xoG7lJ04KEymKo6-C6thIpjdiEV1mKCMMuN0aAl37EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  2. Paint it how you wish, but it absolutely dilutes earnings per share, which in turns resets the stock price lower. Have not looked at the numbers in detail because I would never buy a cruise line stock (too many other better stocks to buy), but $1B for a company with about a $10B market cap (IIRC) is substantial. Increasing the float by 15% is substantial. As state above, it is not good. And with another rate increase today, just think what the financing will be on their next loan.
  3. I saw 3-4 of them on our last cruise. Had no idea what they were about. Had I , I still would not have cared. As for a hiding place, you could hide one in plain sight on the Seafood Shack counter...nobody would find it.
  4. On our last breeze cruise the fitness center was open 6am to 10pm IIRC.
  5. I could care less about the CD. They do make my cruise less fun with all their talking bobblehead announcements. Half of which seem self-serving, and most of he rest useless. But one has to listen because there are probably 2-3 useful announcements on a 7 day cruise.
  6. I guess it depends. If it balances against a LTCG, then 15%. Even if one is a billionaire, the top tax bracket is 37%...so lose a dollar, save 37 cents is the best case scenario. But yeah sometimes it is still the best financial decision. But best does not mean it is a good thing.
  7. Or to put another way, you lose $1 on a stock, and you get "save" 15 cents on your taxes. Still lose 0.85. Write offs sound great...but they are bad for the average joe investor.
  8. The steak and eggs use to be good. Now it is chewy piece of beef and eggs...and not so good. The filet is gone. The now call it some hybrid name to make it sound good. But that is okay as they have a "Salmon Super Food Salad" which is fantastic, as is the avocado toast.
  9. Easy. The Cloud 9 Spa on the Dream Class ships. That T-Pool is the best thing at sea. Frankly, aside from an Alaskan cruise which we have not taken yet, I will not cruise unless I am getting a Spa Balcony Cabin on a Dream Class. Makes it simple for me!
  10. IIRC it is about $20 per day, so my guess would be $79.
  11. Mix and match up to 12 cans, each up to 12 ounces, however you please.
  12. Looks awful? No, it is awful.
  13. This is making me want to go on another cruise ASAP. Let's get ready to rumble!
  14. "just accept"? No. No cruise for us until this mess gets straightened out..and if it never does...then no more cruises for us. Plenty of other choices for our vacation dollars.
  15. "Best Possible Service" ...what a joke! We sailed in October at 50% capacity and the service was fantastic. Sailed last month...worst cruise ever. Same ship, same itinerary.
  16. Why in the world would he even want to take a cruise? Constant reminder of work..at least it would be to me.
  17. Yeah I work in the "service" industry. I tell my wife on occasion it is time for my Eddie Haskell routine. If you are of my age, you know!
  18. Disagree. Most peoples golf game CAN and WOULD improve on a country club course. The greens are consistent from hole to hole and will roll true and will be properly maintained so shots from the fairway will hold the green. The fairways will be smooth and void of any weeds, allow for proper ball striking. The rough will be watered and actually be grass that is cut higher than the fairway (most munis are just bare earth littered with weed patches as they choose not to water or mow to save money). The bunkers will be full of sand (not dirt, not gravel, etc like most munis) and again be consistent to play out of. And the chances of being stuck behind groups of drunk golfers yacking it up and blasting music across the course are pretty much zero. So yeah, your comparison is just wrong. But I guess we could consider Carnival the "muni" of the cruise industry. At least based upon our cruise last month. Worst. Cruise. Ever.
  19. With zero revenue and an unknown future? I get the decision.
  20. Sounds like a stressful way to end a vacation. Reserve a hotel and a flight for later the next day. Spend a couple days in Southern California....
  21. First to the buffet line wins! Or loses.....
  22. I would probably never pay for a more upscale cruise than what CCL or RC offers. Why? Because at those price points, other non-cruise vacations compare favorably. A week on Mackinac Island sounds fantastic. My wife would love a driving vacation up the west coast from San Diego to Seattle, stopping where and when we want for how long we want. I would love a mid-summer fly-in fishing trip to Northern Canada or a golfing trip to Scotland.
  23. The BI could be so much better with just a few simple changes....corn or even flour tortillas for the burritos would be one. Not sure how wheat and jalapeño became their only choices. Ugh.
  24. Yeah but they still reported a loss of about $1.60 per share, which was much morse than the estimates of "only" losing $1.10 per share. That is a huge disappointment and does not give investors a lot of confidence when CCL say they will actually report positive earnings next quarter. I think their number was something like 0.04 per share. In the long term, earnings drive the stock price. So, IMO, investors have been way more than kind keeping CCL at any level above $3 per share these last few years. And yeah, reports of horrible service on cruises, high fuel, food and wage costs, higher travel costs to get to the ports, and now maybe no more free COVID testing...there is just no good news out there for CCL.
  25. I was not responding to what it does to the consumer.
